The Monster King's Legacy-Chapter 109: The Alliance’s Predicament
Listening to their request, the Godking studied them briefly, then, with a simple nod, he granted them permission.
"Go."
The warriors immediately departed, stepping through new portals, disappearing toward their next objective.
As the portals closed, the Godking turned his gaze upward towards the distant Demon Capital. His expression remained impassive, but he felt it, someone had been watching, a presence that lingered far in the distance, concealed yet not hidden from him.
It remained calm and observant, neither hostile nor friendly. The Godking’s lips twitched slightly. He could act and trace the presence and deal with it immediately, but he chose not to. Instead, he dismissed it.
Whatever their intentions were, it did not matter, as he saw it.

Turning his attention back to the battlefield, the Godking called forth Haos. A man stepped forward from the ranks, his silver eyes sharp, his posture unwavering. He was the same man that had been sent to test Lance a while back.
"You called, my Lord?"
The Godking did not turn to face him, instead, he spoke simply.
"Check up on the human leading goblins and report back to me. The hoard of demons should be returning to their territory."
Haos gave a small bow, understanding the implications of what his Lord had said. "As you command."
With that, he vanished into a portal, leaving the battlefield behind. Somehow, ot seemed like every single person was adept with this high tier magic, showing just how capable each of them was.

Far away from the battlefield, in a land untouched by war, two figures stood atop a vast grassland. Rolling green stretched in every direction, animals grazing peacefully in the distance.
The sky was clear above, a deceptive serenity. Who would ever believe that it was an artificial world created by the son of a demon lord?
The Demon Lord’s children, his son and daughter, stood side by side. Their gazes were not filled with grief nor sadness, not even anger. They had confirmed their father’s death, but they did not mourn him, neither did they hate the one who had ended him.
All they hoped was to remain hidden and undiscovered, so that they would be able to rebuild and recover.
"That’s that for now, the others will soon disappear too." An’Xiel, the now dead demon lord’s daughter said.
"It is inevitable. They were already far gone anyway, there’s no saving them." Her brother said, looking away.
There was no need to focus on the affairs in the outside world for the time being.

While the demons who had escaped looked forward to a brighter future, the future of those in the goblin settlement was looking dark, and in a literal sense nonetheless. Their camp… was surrounded.
Literal dark clouds blotted out the sky even though it was already nearing the darkness of night time. The strong light from the moon casted its brilliant light on the clouds, leaking through as an eerie, dark crimson hue over the battlefield. The thousands of demons stretched endlessly beyond the horizon, if there were one to be seen through the dense forestations. Regardless of the clearness of the horizon, it was undeniable that a vast sea of grotesque, twisted creatures was hurling its way towards their territory.
There was no way to shield the truth from the people to prevent panic, as the footsteps alone of the advancing demons sounded far and loud like thunder. It was only natural for fear and doubt to arise under such circumstances.
Murmurs rippled throughout the camp amongst all the races.
"We’re surrounded," a beastkin muttered, his tail twitching nervously.
"There’s no way out," another added, his voice trembling but still managing to remain firm.
Rynne, standing beside Lance, clenched her jaw. "If this fear spreads, we’re finished before the battle even starts."
Lance nodded, his eyes scanning the crowd. He could feel the weight of their despair, the creeping doubt that threatened to unravel the unity and composure they had fought so hard to build. Ruzak was also of the same mind as Rynne, and they all agreed that something had to be done.
Lance quickly asked for everyone to be gathered, taking his stand on a hastily constructed platform at the center of the allied encampment. Around him, the coalition’s forces gathered, their expressions a mixture of fear, determination, and uncertainty.
Ruzak stepped forward, raising his hands for silence. The murmurs subsided as more than a thousand pair of eyes turned toward him and Lance. Once the stage had been readied for him, Lance took a deep breath, readying his voice to be propelled as far as possible.
"I won’t lie to you," he began, his voice steady, but as loud as a cry, loud enough to carry across the gathered multitude. "This is the greatest force we will face yet! The demons are vast, relentless, and merciless, Indeed! But! They are not invincible! Neither will we be merciful to them!"
He paused, letting his words sink in.
"They overwhelm us now, thinking we’re trapped! They look at us and see goblins, orcs, and beastkin! They think us to be a fractured coalition! They believe we will crumble under the weight of fear. But they are wrong!!"
His voice grew louder, his tone sharp with conviction. "We are not just a coalition! We are an army forged in fire! A might force! We’ve already defied the odds multiple times! We’ve faced their powerful, their marshals! Their corruption! How dare they believe we are weak now?! Death to them! All of them shall die! No matter what! Our dead brothers and sisters will not rest asleep eternally in vein! We will conquer!" Lance said.
Following his last words, as though cleansed of the fear and hesitation in their system, everyone gathered shouted and chanted, warrior and one warrior alike. In the end, in the monster world, there was none who was not a warrior.
As they screamed at the top of their lungs, a mighty presence greeted them in the form of a towering dragon whose wings alone covered the opening above the trees.
It was the dragon everyone had been looking for so much, Aelyndra.
