The Omega Is Pregnant-Chapter 68
“Is it really that hard to just say, ‘Let’s live together’? Why did you suddenly go from being my boyfriend to my guardian...?”
At Tae-seo’s complaint, Kang Se-heon’s lips twitched slightly.
“You said you’d confess as much as I wanted once I woke up, but all you did was sneak me into your house. You’re seriously shady.”
Tae-seo warily entered his school’s homepage ID and password. His fingers barely moved on the keyboard, making it obvious that he was being conscious of Se-heon’s presence.
“Don’t try to figure out my password by watching my hands.”
“I wasn’t planning to. Just check your grades.”
“Why do you...?”
He swallowed the rest of his words. Was Se-heon really keeping track of when grades were released? Even he himself barely remembered the date, so how did Se-heon know?
Seeing the expression on Tae-seo’s face, which betrayed all his thoughts, Se-heon lifted his mug. Instead of coffee, he had made tea—he called it rooibos tea.
“Drink while you check.”
Se-heon looked completely unbothered, acting as if there was no urgency at all. But for Tae-seo, this was anything but a relaxed situation.
He rubbed his cold fingertips together, trying to warm them up, before wrapping both hands around the mug like a hand warmer. He hadn’t taken the midterms, but the finals had been all his own effort. Since he was in his senior year, he’d worried about whether he still retained enough prior knowledge, but it turned out studying wasn’t as difficult as he’d feared. That gave him a bit of hope.
As his hands gradually warmed up, his tension started to ease. Finally, he clicked on his report card. The moment his grades filled the screen, he momentarily forgot to breathe.
“Haah...”
Tae-seo exhaled as if all the strength had left his body, his eyes scanning over his results.
His grades weren’t bad. Since his finals went well and even his midterm scores weren’t terrible, his overall performance was solid.
‘Park Han-soo mentioned grades while putting together our group.’
That was why he had paired him with Kang In-hyuk and Seo Da-rae. It meant that the original Yoon Tae-seo had decent grades to begin with.
‘That’s a relief.’
Fully letting go of his tension, he was about to smile but then hesitated, aware of Se-heon sitting in front of him. He suddenly felt like teasing him. Imitating Se-heon’s earlier gesture, Tae-seo lifted his mug.
“Do you want to see?”
“Do you want to show me?”
“No, it’s just... You were the one who brought up my grades first, so I was wondering if you wanted to see them.”
“If you want to show me, I’ll humor you.”
Even though Se-heon was the one who asked about grades first, he made it sound like Tae-seo was dying to show him. With his gaze lowered in an indifferent manner, it was like he had reverted to his old self—the one who only cared about himself.
Well, even if he had softened, Kang Se-heon was still Kang Se-heon. That prickly personality of his wasn’t going anywhere.
Tae-seo debated messing with him a bit more but ultimately decided against it. Instead, he turned his laptop toward Se-heon, displaying his report card, then stood up. Stretching, he walked toward the kitchen, making sure his voice carried over.
“Maybe it’s because I got good grades, but I’m suddenly starving.”
There was no real connection, but who cared? He wanted to show off a little.
When he glanced back, he saw Se-heon scoff at his grades, as if they were just ‘decent,’ before getting up as well.
“If you want to rank first next time, you should eat more nuts.”
Se-heon ruffled Tae-seo’s hair before heading deeper into the kitchen. Watching him open the fridge and check its contents, Tae-seo pouted. Acting like only first place mattered, huh? That made him feel a little sulky.
“Ugh, if it’s this hard to get a single compliment, what’s he going to be like with Blessing? I bet he’ll only care if they get first place.”
Tae-seo rubbed his rounded belly as he sat down and spoke loudly toward Se-heon’s back.
“Blessing, you’re in trouble. Your dad only likes first place. You’d better study hard.”
Se-heon didn’t even turn around, just continued pulling out kitchen tools as Tae-seo kept chattering.
“Your dad must have been a genius in school.”
Instead of denying anything, Se-heon continued his preparations in silence.
“You’ll have to bring home a perfect score just to make your dad smile and praise you. What a nightmare.”
Tae-seo propped his chin up with his hand, watching Se-heon work. Aside from the occasional noise of kitchen tools clinking, the sounds were quite pleasant—like a lullaby. Se-heon’s broad back was nice to look at, too.
As his gaze drifted up from Se-heon’s back to his shoulders, he suddenly understood why Se-heon treated him like a kid. It wasn’t just because of their age difference. Even though Tae-seo wasn’t short, he definitely didn’t feel tall standing next to Se-heon.
While still admiring Se-heon’s back, Tae-seo rested his face in his hands.
“What would he say if I got a 99? Would he say ‘good job,’ or would he sigh about that one missing point? Ah, I’m really curious. I wonder if Blessing will be good at studying.”
Muttering to himself, Tae-seo even started tapping his feet in anticipation.
Just then, Se-heon turned around, having finished his cooking. The sound of the blender had stopped, and he placed a drink in front of Tae-seo—one that had clearly been blended with nuts—along with tortilla chips that had nuts baked into them.
“Blessing.”
Calling the baby’s pre-birth name, Se-heon set the drink down in front of Tae-seo and even lifted a chip to his mouth. Tae-seo accepted it, chewing as Se-heon gestured for him to drink as well.
“Don’t worry.”
Oh? Was he about to say he’d personally tutor their kid?
“I won’t starve them just because they’re bad at studying.”
Huh?
“Even if they get a 99, I’ll make sure they eat until they’re full. Even if they get a 100, they’ll eat well. Hell, even if they get a zero, I’ll still feed them.”
“Wait... what do you mean, ‘I’ll make sure they eat well’...?”
Thrown off by the unexpected answer, Tae-seo mumbled in disbelief before completely collapsing onto the table, bursting into laughter. He pounded the table with his fist, laughing so hard that Se-heon nudged the cups and plates aside just in case.
Once he had laughed to his heart’s content, Tae-seo lifted his head.
“I thought you were going to say you’d personally tutor them.”
His whole body shook from laughter as he spoke, making Se-heon pour him a glass of water in case he started choking.
“If they eat well, they’ll study well. ...We’ll see once I start by feeding you properly.”
“Ah, seriously!”
Just how much did he plan on stuffing him with?!
****
“Mmm...”
Tae-seo slowly opened his eyes as he woke up. Ever since collapsing once before, he had developed a habit—his eyes always opened first the moment he regained consciousness. Waking up with only his mind alert filled him with a creeping unease, as if he needed to confirm that he was still Yoon Tae-seo.
The familiar ceiling reassured him—it was Se-heon’s house, more specifically, the room he had been staying in. He had been discharged that morning, come straight home, eaten a snack, and intended to rest just for a bit before lunch... but apparently, he had dozed off.
He was still Tae-seo. Blessing was still growing inside him. And he still had someone he was going to marry soon. Listing out these facts one by one helped soothe the lingering tension in his chest. Letting out a long breath, he slowly got up.
Placing his feet on the floor, Tae-seo stood up and stretched, taking a slow walk around the room to loosen his stiff body. And as his body relaxed, his mind was drawn back to the thing that had been troubling him for days—the moment he collapsed.
Had his exposure to those concentrated Alpha pheromones really been related to Seo Da-rae?
He had only talked about it with Park Han-soo, never mentioning it to anyone else. Not even Jin Gyu-min, his doctor. Not even Kang Se-heon.
Tae-seo absentmindedly ran a hand over his stomach, his steps halting as he caught sight of his reflection in the mirror.
The Tae-seo in the mirror looked calm.
“Why are you staring like that?”
Talking to his own reflection, Tae-seo quickly let out a self-deprecating chuckle. If he truly suspected Seo Da-rae, shouldn’t he just go and ask him? And yet, he couldn’t bring himself to do it. He was so frustrated with himself.
“Am I afraid he’ll actually admit it? Yeah... that’s exactly it.”
If Seo Da-rae really said, ❖ Nоvеl𝚒ght ❖ (Exclusive on Nоvеl𝚒ght) “It was me,” then what? How would he react? He could ask why, but... responsibility? Could he really demand Seo Da-rae take responsibility for drugging him?
No. Because Tae-seo had tried to do the exact same thing to him.
It was just that, by some twist of fate, Tae-seo had ended up taking the drug himself, altering everything. But if things had gone according to his original plan, Seo Da-rae could have been the one in danger.
Frustrated, Tae-seo ruffled his own hair messily.
A knock sounded at the door before it opened.
“You’re awake, so why aren’t you coming out?”
Se-heon leaned casually against the doorframe, clearly not planning to close the door anytime soon. Instead of responding immediately, Tae-seo turned his body slightly, looking at himself in the mirror from different angles.
“I was just looking. They say Blessing is in here, but my stomach still isn’t really showing.”
“Male Omegas don’t show as much.”
“Then where’s all the food I’m eating going? Here?”
Tae-seo pushed his cheeks up with his hands, squishing his face. It looked both cute and ridiculous, but his expression remained serious. His earlier thoughts about Seo Da-rae had been successfully buried—if it had been any other day, Se-heon’s sharp gaze might have caught onto his mood, but today, thankfully, he hadn’t.
Still, Tae-seo continued mashing his cheeks as he asked,
“Don’t I look like I’ve gained weight? I wasn’t this puffy before I was hospitalized.”
At that, Se-heon actually stepped into the room, as if ready to conduct a full inspection. He walked in a slow circle around Tae-seo, scrutinizing him from every angle.
“It’s not noticeable yet.”
“But I have gained weight, right?”
“Can’t say for sure unless I take a closer look.”
Se-heon’s conclusion was so nonchalant that it made Tae-seo cross his arms over his body defensively.
“You don’t mean you actually want to check, do you?”

“Don’t look at me like that. Do you think we just held hands and ended up with Blessing?”
“Well, no, but... Wait, how did we even end up on this topic? I was just asking if I’ve gained weight!”
Tae-seo narrowed his eyes and took a step back, as if putting distance between himself and a pervert.
“Anyway, I feel like I’ve gotten chubbier.”
“You shouldn’t be worried about that yet. You’re going to gain more weight. And I’ll make sure of it.”
With the air of someone who had already accepted fate, Se-heon dismissed Tae-seo’s concerns without a second thought.
