The Omega Is Pregnant-Chapter 72
The moment Tae-seo’s pregnancy was revealed, a storm of emotions flickered across Han Mi-sun’s face. At first, she suspected it was a lie. But when no one denied it, disbelief turned to shock, and then to outright horror.
"That’s impossible!"
Se-heon, anticipating that trying to reason with Han Mi-sun would be pointless, covered Tae-seo’s ears with his hands. With the noise muffled, Tae-seo’s expression visibly relaxed, but the commotion around them continued.
"Who gave you the right to decide this?!"
"Mi-sun! That’s enough."
Kim Mi-kyung, unable to watch any longer, raised her voice to intervene.
"Of course you’d say that, Sister. You’d want me to just drop this."
Han Mi-sun scoffed, exhaling sharply as she glared at everyone in the room. Her eyes held the weight of betrayal, as if the people before her had conspired against her.
"So this was your plan all along. Telling me you liked In-hyuk, only to stab him in the back later."
Tae-seo wanted to correct her—In-hyuk had never once looked at him that way, not when he was so utterly fixated on Seo Da-rae. But there was no point. She wouldn’t believe it. Frustration swelled inside him as he clenched his chest, unable to express the truth.
Chairman Kang, observing the situation, shot a glance at his secretary, signaling him to step in.
"Let’s discuss this later. Remove her."
"What? No. I need to say this now. Hey—"
Han Mi-sun refused to leave, struggling as two secretaries firmly took hold of her arms.
"Please step outside."
"Let me go!"
She braced her legs against the floor to resist, but all that accomplished was her heels slipping off. Unable to fight against their grip, she was eventually dragged out. The moment she disappeared from sight, the door was shut behind her.
As the secretaries escorted Han Mi-sun away, the tension in the room settled—but the warmth from before was gone, leaving only uneasy glances and nervous fingers tapping against water glasses.
It was Chairman Kang who broke the silence first.
"I apologize."
Yoon Seok-hoon quickly responded with a reassuring "It’s alright." But before he could say more, Kim Mi-kyung stepped in as well.
"No, it’s fine. Mi-sun and I... we’ve known each other for a long time. Even before I got married, we were close like sisters."
She had called Han Mi-sun’s name fondly but then quickly added an explanation, as if to justify herself.
"Since we saw each other often, our children naturally became close as well. We once talked about arranging their marriage if Tae-seo ever became an Omega. But... well, things turned out differently. If anything, I should be the one apologizing."
She had expected Han Mi-sun to be upset, but she hadn’t anticipated her to storm in so recklessly.
The atmosphere remained stiff, and Tae-seo found himself heaving a silent sigh.
I worked so hard for this moment.
He had smiled brighter than usual, determined to win over Chairman Kang’s favor. He had endured moments of embarrassment, pushing himself to act as though everything was fine.
Even when Se-heon had stepped in unexpectedly, he had taken it in stride, convincing himself that it wasn’t so bad.
I wanted to make a good impression on Grandfather.
I wanted to build a good relationship with Se-heon’s family.
But then Han Mi-sun barged in and shattered the peaceful atmosphere.
If only she would just let it go.
But Tae-seo knew better than anyone that she wouldn’t. She wanted him. That was why she had coldly pushed Seo Da-rae away and clashed with In-hyuk over him.
If that were all, I wouldn’t even say anything.
Just as he had nearly pushed Seo Da-rae into danger in the original novel, Han Mi-sun had gone too far in trying to secure In-hyuk’s future. She had only admitted her faults after In-hyuk had protected Seo Da-rae and had no choice but to acknowledge their relationship.
Until then, she had been just like this.
Weighed down by his thoughts, Tae-seo pressed his temple before slipping his hand into his pocket. He took out his phone, which had been silent all this time, and caught Se-heon’s gaze.
"I need to make a call."
Se-heon’s expression softened slightly, his eyes telling him to go ahead.
With that, Tae-seo stepped outside. He hesitated for only a moment before scrolling through his contacts and finding the name he needed.
"This ends when I settle things with In-hyuk."
The only person who could calm Han Mi-sun down was Kang In-hyuk himself.
After a few rings, the call connected. The sound of movement came through the receiver before a quiet, but unmistakably surprised voice answered.
["...Tae-seo?"]
There was a trace of shock in Kang In-hyuk’s tone. He cleared his throat, but Tae-seo, too wound up, barely noticed.
"Today was a really important day for me, you know?"
In-hyuk didn’t reply right away. He only let out a faint breath, as if trying to make sense of what Tae-seo was saying. But Tae-seo wasn’t in the mood to wait.
"And then your mother showed up and—"
He trailed off, unable to bring himself to say ruined everything. Instead, frustration bubbling inside him, he tapped his chest lightly.
"Meet me. We need to talk."
["Meet you?"]
"Yeah. We need to meet. There’s something we need to settle."
He had promised himself that he wouldn’t beg Kang In-hyuk for anything.
But this... this, he had no choice.
After ending the call, Tae-seo returned to the room, noticing that everyone was already preparing to leave.
He was relieved. At least they wouldn’t have to sit through the awkward tension any longer. As he approached Se-heon, the other man turned to him.
"Are you heading straight home?"
"No. I have somewhere to go."
Tae-seo deliberately left out that he was going to meet Kang In-hyuk. Se-heon, sensing his reluctance to elaborate, gave his shoulder a reassuring pat.
"Alright. I have something to take care of, too. I’ll see you at home."
His words were casual, but his gaze had turned cold.

"Two iced Americanos, please."
Seo Da-rae accepted the card, completed the payment, and handed it back to the customer with a polite smile.
"Thank you."
As the customer stepped aside to pick up their order, Da-rae’s smile briefly faded. Glancing at the time, he left the front counter and headed toward the staff room.
Upon opening his locker, he quickly removed his apron. His hands, initially moving with efficiency, gradually slowed. He pulled the apron off, hung it on a hook, and reached for the buttons of his shirt—only to pause.
"Haah..."
Letting out a long sigh, Seo Da-rae turned, leaning his back against the locker. His day had passed like any other, but his mind had felt vacant all day, as though he were somewhere else entirely. A tight, constricting sensation in his chest made it difficult to breathe properly. He gripped the front of his shirt as if trying to squeeze the pain away.
But the pressure in his chest didn’t ease. Instead, it grew worse. He bent forward suddenly, coughing violently.
Hack, hack.
Covering his mouth with the back of his hand, he suppressed the lingering coughs. His expression slowly crumbled under the weight of despair.
With trembling hands, he covered his face.
"I only did to him what he did to me. Yoon Tae-seo always did the same, didn’t he?"
He had always been the one on the receiving end. Whenever Tae-seo tormented him, he had swallowed his anger and refused to retaliate in kind. That had been his pride. That had been his line.
But that line had been erased.
When Kang In-hyuk’s affections wavered, Da-rae had tried to stand on his own, and in doing so, he had crossed a line—he had done something to Tae-seo that should never have been done.
"No, it’s nothing to dwell on. I was just trying to confirm something. It’s not like I killed anyone..."
"Sometimes, it can kill."
A deep voice suddenly cut in.
Da-rae flinched, whipping his head up in alarm.
Somehow, the door had opened without him noticing. A tall man stood in the doorway, blocking the exit like a sentinel.
The oppressive aura radiating from him made Da-rae instinctively shrink back, but his retreat was halted by the cold metal of the locker pressing against his back.
"What did you just say? And who are you?"
"There’s a reason it’s illegal. Just because it didn’t kill someone doesn’t mean it was okay."
As the man took a single step forward, Da-rae involuntarily tensed.
"If you had even a shred of guilt, I might have tried to understand your situation. But you’re unbelievably shameless."
"I don’t know what you’re talking about. This area is for employees only. Leave."
Despite his best attempt at sounding firm, Da-rae’s voice wavered.
But rather than backing off, the man took another step forward, closing the distance between them.
At first, he had felt like an impassable gatekeeper. Now, he felt more like a grim reaper coming to claim him. Or perhaps it was the way his piercing gaze seemed to know everything that made Da-rae’s blood run cold.
"Do you understand that what you did to Tae-seo is unforgivable?"
Tae-seo’s name had been spoken.
There was no longer any use in feigning ignorance.
Da-rae swallowed hard, the lump in his throat rising painfully as he forced himself to look up at the man before him.
Now he understood.
This was Kang Se-heon. The man Tae-seo had been spending time with. The one everyone knew about. Da-rae had been too flustered to recognize him at first, but now his name surfaced in his mind.
He wasn’t here because of some vague suspicion.
He knew.
He knew exactly what Da-rae had done.
"I just... I only wanted to check if it was true that Yoon Tae-seo had become an Omega."
"And so you did it knowingly, even though you understood the consequences."
Se-heon’s voice was calm, but his words were razor-sharp.
Da-rae’s lips parted, but he had no way to refute it.
He had known.
He had deliberately exposed himself to ⊛ Nоvеlιght ⊛ (Read the full story) Alpha pheromones to carry them to Tae-seo. He had known it could trigger a heat cycle.
And it had.
Now, his own cycle had been thrown completely off balance. His body could no longer predict when the next one would come.
"I never meant to kill him. And—well, since he didn’t die, I don’t even have to convince you that I’m telling the truth."
"Did you forget what I just said? Sometimes, it can kill."
"Pheromones don’t kill people. Even if Tae-seo went into heat—"
Da-rae stopped short.
He hadn’t been completely unaware of the danger.
The drug had been illegal for a reason.
He had just never allowed himself to think about the worst-case scenario.
"Even if another Alpha had tried to touch him... he had someone protecting him, so—"
"Why don’t you just admit it outright? You did it because you were jealous that In-hyuk was slipping away from you."
"I..."
Da-rae’s breath caught in his throat.
Se-heon had struck the heart of the matter without hesitation.
For a brief moment, Da-rae wanted to defend himself.

But no words came.
"What if no one had been there to protect him? What if someone had tried to forcefully take him?"
"That’s ridiculous. Are you saying Tae-seo was actually in danger?"
"It all worked out, so it doesn’t matter? Is that it? That’s your excuse?"
Se-heon’s previously calm tone turned ice-cold.
His voice carried a weight that sent a sharp chill down Da-rae’s spine.
This man was dangerous.
Truly, dangerously furious.
"It’s not that—"
"You almost killed my child."
The words struck like a thunderclap.
Da-rae froze, his entire body stiffening.
His mind lagged behind, struggling to process what he had just heard.
Before he could react, Se-heon stepped in even closer, their proximity suffocating.
