The Overnight Chosen Wife: darling, kiss me deeper-Chapter 599: Honeymoon (2)
Chapter 599: Honeymoon (2)
"That’s not how it started out." She winked to remind him of how they really met, and he chuckled.
"Now that you mention it, it wasn’t. But we are allowed to change how things really happened, right?"
She thought about it with a dramatic expression and agreed. "Actually, yes. Let’s do it differently."
He held a hand out for her. "Let’s start over. I’m Ji Xiehan."
"Lanni." She shook his hand.
"I know this sounds crazy for a first meeting but I had a fortune teller read my stars and she told me you are the main piece that puts the puzzle of my life together." He grinned.
She pretended to be offended. "You are going to scare me away if you talk about the future in the first meeting. This is the part where you ask me if I would like to have coffee with you platonically."
He gave her a once-over. "There was nothing platonic about the kind of things I wanted to do you when we first met, and now."
Hoping no one had overheard that, she sat down and let Ivy serve their breakfast.
They ate and spent the rest of the morning at the resort. They’d hopped into the casino to "waste some money trying out their luck" as Xiehan put it and actually won some at the mini games. They’d lost all of it and more at the poker table, and then won a ticket worth a fifty dollar discount and a free dinner of choice at the grand draw.
It was a drop in the bucket in comparison to the money they had spent but they were overjoyed and it felt special. They redeemed the discount and pre-ordered their favorite foods to be delivered to their suite for dinner. They then kept the now invalid ticket as a souvenir.
In the afternoon, they changed into beach attire. He wore a pair of swim trunks while she wore a one piece bathing suit and a sheer robe to cover up.
He went on his knees to kiss her stomach for the umpteenth time today. "I love you."
She smiled gently. It always warmed her heart to see how excited he was to be a father. Between that and how he treated the twins and Yue, he would make the best father in the world.
They walked hand in hand to the beach. She wanted to take off her shoes and feel the sand in her feet but her overprotective husband was scared she might step on something sharp. Knowing that the list of medicines she couldn’t take was insane, she didn’t want to take the risk either.
However, what she didn’t expect was for him to reserve nearly half a mile of the beach, have his men scout it for any sharp or dangerous objects in the sand just so she would be able to walk without her shoes on.
She was perplexed. "Isn’t that a bit much?"
"Nothing is too much if it concerns you." He kissed her lips and took her hand. "Are you ready to take our walk, barefoot just like you wanted to?"
"Yes." She held his hand excitedly.
The sun was setting, leaving behind a beautiful myriad of colors in the horizon and she couldn’t help taking a picture of them. They had a short motorboat ride and took advantage of the empty beach to make passionate love in the sand before finally going back to their suite.
After another relaxing bath, they sat at the table for dinner.
Xiehan’s phone rang as they ate.
He didn’t look pleased to answer it.
"Your parents?" She guessed.
His nod confirmed it.
She wasn’t pleased either. "Well, they will keep calling if you ignore it."
She had a point so he answered it, and didn’t look fazed by the end of it. "Father had a heart attack. It’s real this time."
He didn’t look concerned so she didn’t ask. She placed a hand on his to express her support of his decisions. Although she probably wouldn’t react the same way if she were in the same situation, she understood him. He was not obliged to care for parents who didn’t care about him.
With her permission, he stabbed a piece of her chicken, dipped it in the sauce and tasted it. "Let’s not ruin our honeymoon because of them."
"Good point."

After a month of more fun than they had ever had, the couple finally returned to the real world.
They still had a week left off work and they decided to use it for their gender reveal.
Cheng Yu and Cedric had already moved to France and she couldn’t keep traveling back and forth over such short periods, so she would witness the party on a video call.
Of course, Luna had to tease her endlessly about it.
"Yu, could you pass me the pink balloons? Oops. She’s on a screen. My bad." She jabbed.
Cheng Yu rolled her eyes. "Very funny."
"Have they started yet?" Cedric poked his head into the room on Cheng Yu’s side and settled down next to her.
"We are finishing up on the decorations." Luna blew the last balloon and let out a breath.
"I’ve blown so many balloons that I became one myself." She joked at the swell of her stomach.
"You didn’t have to." Cheng Yu pointed out. freewebnσvel.cøm
"I wanted to." She shrugged, and the couple knew to leave her alone. No one could understand Luna anymore except her husband. She would wake up at random times of the night, craving for specific foods and tragedy would strike if Xingyu couldn’t get it. Sometimes she wanted to hug him all day and glue herself to him while at other times, she didn’t even want him to breathe the same air as she was. It required patience to deal with her and Xingyu had been quite understanding.
"Are you sure you really don’t want a gender reveal, Luna?" Cheng Yu asked on the call.
"No thanks." She already couldn’t take the tension for Lanni’s reveal.
When she was finally done "helping" with the decorations, the garden had been styled in two light colors. One side was baby blue while the other was pale pink.
A huge inflatable ball hung above the arc of balloons which had been brought over, and it had been filled with either pink or blue confetti to reveal the gender.
"It’s starting!" Cheng Yu was on edge as all of Lanni’s and Xiehan’s friends gathered.
Lanni and Xiehan each held tiny darts to throw at the same time.
"Let’s be honest, Xiehan, What do you think it will be?" Lanni asked.
He couldn’t hide his smile. "A tiny you."
She tipped her head back laughing. "What a coincidence. I think it will be a tiny you."
"Stop buying time. You do know fate has already decided the result, right?" Xiaoshi teased them.
"Right. Let’s go." She nudged him. "In three, two, one!"
They both threw the darts that made the inflatable ball explode, and her first reaction was to close her eyes. Then she opened them a moment later to catch sight of blue confetti on Xiehan’s arm.
