The Primordial Record-Chapter 1496 Dawn Of The Supreme Era (11)
Chapter 1496 Dawn Of The Supreme Era (11)
Caine's bloodshot eyes seemed to go vacant from the words of Primordial Chaos. There was a dull ringing in his heart that was hard to ignore. It was not every time that Caine was confronted with his insignificance, and this was made worse when he considered that everything he was hearing was the truth.
"Despite all of this," Caine gasped aloud, "I am not a game. I have made the sacrifices needed to reach your position, and I have been shunned and denigrated before the altars of all living beings. I have existed in conditions that my worst enemies could never comprehend, and I have fought for every opportunity that I could grasp. You have no right to judge me."
Primordial Chaos laughed, his voice was like a young man in the prime of his life, yet it was soft, exuding a relaxed air of confidence, and Caine's eyes bugged out in humiliation, rage, and despair as one of the feet of Primordial Chaos stepped on his head and began pressing down, while slowly moving from side to side, as he leisurely spoke,
"If I don't have the right to judge you, then who can? I made everything of you, your existence all rests on my whims. Your design is my own, yet you have failed to live to the potential I gave you, even now, you still don't see your part in all of this, how expected, how disappointing."
The actions of Primordial Chaos should have crushed the skull of the weakened Caine to pieces, but the application of force from the Primordial was exquisite. He brought Caine's skull to the limit of breaking, and then he kept him there, but that was only the beginning of the torture.
From that limit, he continued to find more as he kept steadily applying pressure in infinitesimal amounts, taking Caine to what he considered the peak of pain and then casually exceeding it as he delved deeper into a realm of force and pressure that made no sense.

"Do you now begin to sense the true realm of infinity? I have taken you to your limits, but as you can see, I can always push for more, and it will never end, you shall experience a pain that has no limits to its heights... This is me showing mercy."
Caine had no idea that he was screaming, he was in a realm of pain that had exceeded what his mind could comprehend, but he could not escape, there was no relief from it, this was torture on a scale that defied meaning, and at first there was a hint of rebellion in his heart, but that soon vanished and everything about him transformed into a plea for mercy, every single fiber of his being begged for release.
His dignity was forgotten, his rage was left behind, and his attempts to fight for a position that he felt was his destiny were thrown to the side before a pain that a part of him knew would never end and would continue growing until...
What was left of his mind recoiled at that thought, he would never grow insane, nor numb, Primordial Chaos would ensure that he felt an ever-increasing pain for all infinity, this was a fate that was countless times worse than death because he knew there was always something worse waiting for him that would never reach a limit.
Everything fought for survival in his body, and the voice that emerged from his mouth could as well be coming from a deranged beast,
"Please... Please... Please... Please... Please..."
Caine endlessly repeated these words, he was not even aware he was saying it, his body was simply begging for freedom despite the cost that it would take.
Primordial Chaos chuckled,
"How fascinating how this all works for things like you. Exposed to a small portion of my light and that barest form of intent, and your bodies simply fall... If you are among the strongest of the Old Ones, then clearly this experiment is a failure"
The foot of Primordial Chaos remained on the face of Caine for a moment and then he let go, placing his feet away from the head of the Old One squirming under him, despite the blood that had covered the entirety of Caine's head, the foot of Primordial Chaos was spotless.
It should have taken a long time for Caine to recover from the remnants of the pain still wracking his mind, but the presence of Primordial Chaos, although soft, was still there and fear that exceeded the pain flooded through his consciousness, Caine bloody eyes opened, and using all the strength left in his body carried by fear that could not be described, he inched closer with his face and began kissing the dirt around the feet of Primordial Chaos.
There was no hint of defiance left inside of him, Caine had fallen. There was a difference between the knowledge of a thing, and experiencing it.
Caine had always known that he was egregiously overmatched when compared to a Primordial, as an Old One, he was among the few who understood how powerful they were, but the display of those powers was always distant, never close to home, and so Caine had the knowledge that if the Primordials wanted him to suffer, then he would experience anguish that he could not fathom, still this knowledge was distant... It was now that true understanding entered his heart and Caine was no more, what remained was a lap dog of Primordial Chaos.
"There was a reason why I have always liked you and kept you for this long, you know the right time to move when the wind blows and find shade. You will be surprised how much this wisdom eludes the best of minds."
Still kissing the ground around the feet of Primordial Chaos, Caine poured out words of praise to the Primordial, and this continued for a long time, although barely a second had passed in reality, Caine had been kissing the ground for a billion years.
"Enough, now hear your duty. The Will of Truth has awakened and it would light the path of the Supreme Era, an opportunity would arise in the coming year and the child would shine brighter than all the stars in existence, that would be your time to strike."
