The Princess's Dangerous Vampire Mate-Chapter 347: The Letter- III
I re-read the letter. I did not just repeat it once, but I may have done it more than at least five times because by the time I read it Once more, I had memorized some of the contents. I already knew what is the next line was going to say and I closed my eyes as I recited it.
Someone had interchanged our letters, as sad as it was, the reality was that someone had interchanged with the letters. What I had told my sister, specifically not to do, she had on the opposite because of the letter she had received in my name. 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚
Everything that which was not supposed to happen had already happened.
Everything bad had fallen down upon us, and there was nothing I could do about it.
The moment I felt something on my shoulders, I slowly turned around to look at the man I knew just by his touch.
"Evive," Tristan had a fond smile over his face. "Everything is going to turn out to be fine."
Kristen wanted to soothe me. As he said, he wanted me to know that everything was going to turn out to be fine, but I was not as naive as he thought.
Maybe I was, but at the moment I was not.
"My sister is already on the path of destruction. My country is on the path of destruction, how can you tell me that everything is going to turn out to be fine? Nothing is going to be fine, Tristan. Everything is going to be destroyed in a matter of days, if not most than weeks!"
Just like any other helpless creature, all I could do was cry. I did not even bother to wipe away the tears or close my eyes and let them fall freely so that blurriness would go away. No, I did nothing here just like I could do nothing over there.
Tristan cupped my cheeks with his palms as he wiped away my tears with his thumbs. "You forget, my dearest, that the man standing in front of you is a vampire and he cannot see you sad."
A scoff left my mouth. "I am not sad, Tristan. I am devastated!"
"All the more reason for you to understand the gravity of the situation. I cannot see my beloved sad, and if she wants me to go to war to protect her people, I will gladly do so."
"War.." That wretched word. It was a curse upon the people of any kingdom. War brought destruction of every kind. War was something that cannot be stopped once it was on its way. It was going to be a waste of resources that we did not have...
"She.." I lifted the letter to his sight, " she sent half of her army to the North. She expects that the king will help her, she does not know that anyone who goes there is never going to come out alive. Those were the rumours and I know that Dante is not going to show mercy to her army. He’s going to kill them, slaughter them at first sight, not even letting them touch the snow of the mountains!"
The northern king had confirmed it himself. Given the species that he was, his secret was important enough to be protected, and it came at the cost of killing people who were close to coming face-to-face with reality. My army was going to go through the same torture.
Tristan merely smiled. "Solomon took a few days to come back with the message from your sister. How long do you think it is going to take in comparison to hear a human or me when it comes to going to the northern King to deliver a message for me?"
I did not think of anything, wanting to hear what he had to say with an open mind.
He squeezed my cheeks lightly. "My friend is going to be considerate enough to send your army back as it came after scaring them a little bit. I will be very particular in telling him not to kill even one of the soldiers to make a spectacle so that no one else ever comes in, he does that at times. Trust me, when I say that my beloved has nothing to worry about. I will take care of all of it."
Yes, yes. Hope blossomed in my chest as I remembered that the Northern king was actually the friend of the man standing in front of me. How could I forget that? That was truly important. If he did not remember that the army was from my country, Dante was surely going to listen to his friend.
And yes, vampires and werewolves are real, very strong. If we all joined hands, then there was a possibility that we would win this world without heavy damage.
I nodded. "Then—"
"Hush now," he removed his hands entirely. "I had given you a lot of time to read the letter and get in terms with what it was. Now I want you to go rest before the sun comes up."
I glanced at the window. "But I can stay awake in the sun."
I had grown used to sleeping when the sun came up. The customs of the palace had changed and so it had I.
"I know, but I do not want you awake when I cannot come to you whenever you need me." His fingers grazed my hand before entangling our fingers. "You must rest. I will let you know what we are going to do about this."
No, I was not going to agree to it without receiving a detailed answer. Just as I opened my mouth, I felt the familiar dizziness, and within seconds, I stood in front of my room. Turning to him, and I narrowed my eyes in displeasure. "I do not want to rest yet. There is too much to do rather than sleeping—"
"Sleep, My love." He whispered and my eyes closed as I fell into the darkness.
