The Princess's Dangerous Vampire Mate-Chapter 356: A new couple - III
It was a long midnight meal. It was the one I enjoyed very much. However, the moment it was over, all, but ran to my room and close to the doors.
"Are we hiding?" Irene asked me, standing by my bed. "I shall refusing every visitor then."
"Allow Merilyn only." I told her. My friend was not being refused at my doorstep.
"Yes, your highness." Irene nodded, bowed and then left.
Highness.
I was granted the highest..
No, I was not thinking about it at the moment. Other things took priority at the moment.
One of them was actually sleeping so that I could get away with hiding from everyone.
I waited until Irene left and then I moved towards my bedroom. Staring at the bed with belonging, I remove my shoes before inching towards it.
A loud noise jolted my son out of my body and I turned around to move out of the bedroom and into the living area where I had heard it from.
Within a second, Chiara was standing in front of me. "You!" She yelled, pointing her finger at me, just as Merelyn appeared beside her.
"Me?" I pointed to myself.
She nodded before pulling up her skirt and charging towards Me. I immediately started to take a few steps back, but she quickly came towards me, and then rub her arms around me, before pulling me towards her chest, and squeezing my body against hers.
"Why are you squeezing me?" my voice came out muffled. What is she not aware that she was using her vampire strength against my human body?
"This is what my sister would have done if she was alive. She was finally going to have a daughter she always dreamed about. You, are now my daughter!"
Cold washed over my body as I finally moved my head to look at Merelyn who has the same expression as Me. I did not like the words daughter and mother in the same sentence when it came to her and me.
"Thank you for that." I pushed her a little bit, but Chiara did not understand what I wanted. Almost pulling myself away from her as free as I could, she finally let go, but then her hands stopped at my elbows.
"Thank you, Darling." She whispered and for once I noticed that her eyes were most. Could vampires do that? " You do not know what you have done. You have given us all hope for a steady future. You have given my nephew a life he has always dreamed about and watched everyone around it receive it. I promise you, my darling, I will never let anything happen to you or to your family. I will make sure I handpick the greatest of happiness and put them in your way."
Chiara sniffed and cupped my cheeks. "You have given me the greatest happiness I wished for, and now I will make sure that you receive everything that I can get you."
Chiara was someone I always found condescending, especially when I met Tristan for the second time when he was changed. But right now, I was meeting the woman I had met when her nephew was still a human. She was kind, unguarded and passionate. I knew where her words were coming from and they were coming from her heart.
Each and every word was the truth and spoken from the bottom of her heart.
"I have not done anything to deserve such a place, Chiara—"
"Aunt or Auntie," she interrupted, "anything you may like to call me but my name now. You are family."
My eyes went to Merelyn, who nodded. "Alright then, Aunt."
"Great." Chiara smiled and nodded. "Now, I know I disturbed your rest, so why don’t you go back to it? Or something even better, you can talk to Merilyn!"
I nodded, at this point, I was just eager to get her out of my room. She left soon after in the same sweet that she had come from, leaving me and Merelyn alone.
"Sorry," She whispered as she walked closer, "I tried to stop her, but apparently the old woman is faster than she seems."
I smiled and waved away her concerns. Since I was still barefoot, I moved towards the bed and partially lied down on it before packing the other side. Merelyn mimicked my actions and we were both are lying on my bed while looking up at the roof.
"Do you know what this means, Merelyn?"
"What?"
"I am getting to marry someone for love. Terrence would have been out of duty but marrying Tristan is.. out of love."
"I am happy for you." Merelyn smiled as she turned to look at me. "I always pray to God that you got married for love and today, you have said yes to a proposal for the same. I believe Melenmore here is just a catalyst. You would have said yes to him in time."
Somewhere or the other, I believe so too. I was always going to say yes to Tristan, but it was going to take me some more time to get used to. The safety and stability of my kingdom just came first and pushed me to do it much quicker.
"Has everyone been talking about it?"
"Oh yes," she then winced, "had you ears like mine, you would have heard them too. Thankfully, the king has told them to keep it down in front of you. Nobody wants to spook you."
"Spook me?" I chuckled. "How considerate of him."
Silence wrapped itself around us again. I was sure that she was thinking of the same thing as I was, the future that was about to come revolving around my marriage.
The only thing I could hope for was that this marriage worked out for everyone including Tristan and I. Just this once, I wanted a marriage. My mother wanted to have for herself but failed to because of my father. Maybe, this was the saving grace I and Catherine could have.
