Aether cracked the skull-shaped potion. A crimson, blood-like substance poured out and spilled onto his hair.
As it seeped through his black hair and slid over his dark eyes, he laughed eerily.
It was a potion that pushed Aether to the brink of death. By being so close to death, he could unleash a skill that would help him defeat the dragon.
Since Aether could heal from any wound, he couldn’t truly reach the brink of death by being beaten. So, in his previous life, he created a potion that allowed him to experience the very moment when people feel they are on the verge of death.
After Aether returned from the cultists, he decided to recreate this potion and ordered the head butler to bring the necessary materials.
After the fight with the Soulborne, he crafted the potion.
As he used it, his life force began to slowly decrease.
Sensing this, the dragon stopped midair.
"Hey, what was that potion?"
Aether didn’t answer. Instead, he raised his right hand, and a system window appeared. From within, he pulled out a sharp sword.
Just then,

His heart felt as if it were about to stop beating. His body also grew numb, just as he wanted. The potion was working, and his body was experiencing death.

Berserk Mode was a state accessible only when Aether was on the brink of death. It granted him a surge of power, a final chance to escape death at the hands of his enemies.
But the downside was that he could not distinguish between friend and foe. Because of this, he hadn’t used it earlier in front of Thalia and Cierra. Instead, he chose to follow the dragon and go far away from them.
As Berserk Mode activated, the throbbing pain in his heart subsided and the potion’s effects were canceled.
Aether had only one minute before Berserk Mode wore off. Since the materials weren’t potent, the potion’s quality had been reduced.
His aura then turned red, and he felt his mana and strength surge temporarily. Without wasting any time, Aether leapt onto the dragon’s head and pierced it with all his might.

It started flying wildly and shook its head, trying to throw Aether off.
But Aether held his sword firmly and continued pushing it deeper.

Cierra held Solmira’s unconscious body and cried helplessly. Beads of tears fell on Solmira’s face as her sobbing grew more devastating.
Thalia, on the other hand, wasn’t crying, but she felt as if her chest would burst open.
Why? Why am I feeling this way?
Thalia was confused by her own emotions.
She then turned to Cierra, as if to suggest they should go to the estate for help. Just then,
they heard the dragon’s cry. Far away, the dragon was flying in pain, screaming loudly.
Cierra and Thalia both realized that it was Aether’s doing.
Cierra quickly stood up while carrying Solmira and said in a serious tone, "We should go help him."
Thalia’s thoughts were the same as Cierra’s.
Both of them then ran toward the place where the dragon was rampaging.

A group of warriors was heading toward the place where the explosion had occurred.
At the front was Aether’s mother, Lady Seraphina. Her face bore a furious expression. As soon as she heard about Aether being kidnapped, she had rushed off at full speed.
She led the warriors from the front.
Another man was flying in the sky using a spell. He propelled himself with high-density flames, rushing at incredible speed. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝔀𝓮𝒃𝙣𝓸𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝙘𝒐𝒎
This man was none other than Axion von Ravenfall, the Patriarch of the Ravenfall family and Thalia’s father.
His face bore an anxious expression. Only one thought ran through his mind, he could not let his daughter get hurt.
He loved his children dearly, but by fate, his son was unconscious and his daughter was being kidnapped.
Angrily, he exerted more force, and his speed increased.
Other than those two, the Noctvain family warriors were present. The Noctvain family had eleven combat squads, and five of them were there.
However, the Ravenfall family warriors remained at the Noctvain estate, protecting Thalia’s older brother, who was unconscious.
Thalia’s maid was also heading toward the battlefield where the explosion had occurred.
But just then, a scream erupted from their left.
Everyone stopped and turned in that direction. They saw a dragon flying in pain, struggling to maintain its balance.
"A dragon?"
"How can?!"
"Why is a dragon here?...."
Everyone was shocked to see a dragon in their territory.
Dragons rarely left their continent, so seeing one was uncommon. Moreover, this dragon was kidnapping the Noctvain’s heir.
Then they saw a figure who had pierced its head and was swinging wildly as the dragon thrashed.
"Young lord, Aether!" a warrior shouted as he recognized him.
He then turned to Aether’s mother.
"Lady Seraphina, the young lord..." he began, but stopped mid-sentence. Aether’s mother had been just there, but now she had vanished. He then saw her rushing toward the dragon.
Seeing her like that, every warrior roared and sped up toward the dragon

Aether held the sword tightly, swinging with the dragon’s wild movements.
"Damn it!"
He then tried to grab the blade with his legs and steadily regain his balance, but the dragon’s movements were so violent that his legs kept slipping.
Moreover, The Berserk skill was about to end. He needed to hurry.
If the skill wore off, his body would go numb, and he would fall to the ground.
Just then, Aether’s Abyssal energy began spinning inside his abdomen, sucking in the dragon’s mana through the sword.
