In the past, as the New Year approached, Ji Niandong was always at home tidying up and preparing a shopping list for her father to buy things for the holiday.

Gu Xiyao laughed softly and said, "But I was before! Little Uncle, could you come over for a bit? I have some things to hand over to Ning Zesheng, but we haven’t been able to meet recently. I want to ask you to pass them on since I don’t know anyone else here."
Afraid Lu Beichen wouldn’t agree, she added, "I’m on a flight tonight, so I won’t trouble Little Uncle in the future. I’ve never asked you for anything before. I promise this is the last time!"
If he didn’t help now, it would seem too harsh!
"Okay, I’ll come over, but only for Tongtong’s sake!"

Lu Beichen turned the car around and headed in that direction, then casually sent a message, "Xiyao called me over to pick up something for Ning Zesheng. The car quickly arrived at Gu Xiyao’s place. Lu Beichen knocked and entered, seeing the room pretty much packed up.
"Little Uncle, you’re here?" Gu Xiyao smiled faintly, "Come right in, no need to change shoes!"
"What do you need to give to Ning Zesheng?" He asked directly, standing at the entrance.
Gu Xiyao had been walking into the room but paused at his question, taking a breath before turning to say, "Little Uncle, are you in a hurry? Why ask about things as soon as you arrive?"
She hesitated a bit, then jogged over to pull Lu Beichen’s arm inside, sweetly saying, "Little Uncle, I made dinner. Please stay and eat with me before you go! I think this should be our last dinner together, right?"
Lu Beichen looked at her, frowned slightly, and pulled his arm back!
She never lifted a finger in the kitchen, cooking dinner? Lu Beichen scrutinized her carefully, realizing her smile tonight seemed extra sweet, making her appear straightforward.
With her hair in a bun and dressed differently from usual, she looked much more lively!
"There’s no need for dinner; I’ll be eating at the Lu Mansion later. Just give me the stuff," Lu Beichen said bluntly.
Gu Xiyao’s smile faded a bit, turning back to her previous demeanor, "Little Uncle, won’t you even have a last dinner with me? You blamed me before and made me get engaged with Ning Zesheng. Now that you think I’ve done something wrong, you let Ning Zesheng break the engagement. What do I mean to you?"
She bit her lip hard, looking a bit helpless and isolated!
