Chapter 226: Chapter 222: A Debt Collector! (4)

"What if I say no?" Qin Fan asked, his cold smile accompanied by a piercing, torch-like gaze.

"Making a concession of 130 million is unprecedented. Young man, don’t delude yourself into thinking you can break the rules. Those who break the rules usually don’t end up well!" Facing Qin Fan’s imposing and aggressive sneer, the middle-aged man growled through clenched teeth, his brow twitching with anger.

As the second-in-command of the Sovereign Casino, the middle-aged man was a veteran of the gambling world. He was only willing to compromise the casino’s prestige in front of the common gamblers—making a concession in the name of a payout—because he was wary of this kind of fearless newcomer. Powerful outsiders with such gambling skills often had an organization’s backing. In these cases, the standard procedure for major casinos was to let them take their winnings and leave rather than turning hostile and making an enemy. After all, no casino wanted to provoke an organization with members whose cheating skills were simply divine.

And Qin Fan, having turned one thousand into 130 million in just an hour, was clearly a member of one of those organizations in the middle-aged man’s eyes. But while he was willing to yield, if the other party was ungrateful, he was not to be trifled with. As second-in-command of the Sovereign Casino and brother of the Gambling King, he was no ordinary individual.

"Sorry, but I love breaking the rules. I’ll leave, but only after I’ve won 1.3 billion," Qin Fan said, shaking his head contemptuously, completely unmoved by the middle-aged man’s threats.

"Fine, then I’ll bet with you!" the middle-aged man growled, his voice a dark, low snarl. He straightened his suit and said, "Tell me, what do you want to bet on?"

"I don’t have time to waste. One round decides it all. The Lucky Roulette!" Qin Fan smiled leisurely, pointing toward the roulette wheel nearby.

"How arrogant!" the middle-aged man huffed, walking over to the Lucky Roulette.

"Divine Physiognomist Lai, for that one-month deadline, were they overdue by thirteen days?" Qin Fan asked, tossing a hundred thousand in chips to an attendant as a tip and having them carry his chip tray. He walked toward the roulette wheel as he spoke to Lai Zhuge.

"Yes, Master Qin. Including today, they are thirteen days overdue," replied Lai Zhuge. The old man felt a little out of place in a casino but dared not show it, simply nodding in response.

"Excellent. With interest at one hundred million a day, I’ll just win 1.3 billion from them," Qin Fan said with a cold, mocking smirk.

Lai Zhuge couldn’t help but smile bitterly upon hearing this. Any lingering resentment he felt toward the Li Family had transformed into pity and sorrow. One hundred million a day? Is that the interest he meant? For the sake of ten billion, they provoked a True God like this... The Li Family is truly courting death!

With casual strides, Qin Fan reached the center of the area surrounding the roulette wheel. He looked at the solemn-faced middle-aged man opposite him and shook his head in mockery. Then, taking the chip tray from the attendant behind him, he unceremoniously dumped its entire contents onto the number thirteen, which had a tenfold payout. "All in on thirteen. One round to decide it all! With a tenfold payout, that’s exactly 1.3 billion!"

"Are you sure?" Shocked by Qin Fan’s casual all-in, the middle-aged man cried out reflexively.

"I don’t have time to waste with you," Qin Fan said with a grim expression, exhaling slowly.

"Then let’s begin!"

With those words, the middle-aged man slammed his palm down on the large red button in front of him.

THWACK!

Under the forceful impact, the button let out a dull, crisp sound. Immediately after, the long pointer began to spin wildly.

At that moment, a hush fell over the entire casino, broken only by the sound of the spinning wheel. All the gamblers had gathered around, their mouths dry as they watched the pointer with rapt attention. Whether the prize was 130 million or 1.3 billion had nothing to do with them, but as spectators to a gamble destined to go down in history, they couldn’t suppress their own inexplicable tension.

Time ticked by, second by second. The pointer’s rotation gradually began to slow.

After ten seconds, it had slowed to a crawl.

Thirteen seconds later, the pointer was only a space and a half away from the number thirteen.

Fifteen seconds later, with a final BEEP, it came to a stop, perfectly aligned with thirteen.

An uproar erupted, the collective gasp of the crowd shaking the entire casino.

Staring at the stationary red pointer, most people instinctively rubbed their eyes. After confirming what they saw, they all turned in unison to look at the young man, who seemed to emanate a sinister, otherworldly chill.

A 1.3 billion gamble with a one-in-twenty chance, and he still ended up the winner? Has the world gone mad? 𝑓𝘳𝑒𝑒𝓌𝘦𝘣𝘯ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝑚

"You lost," Qin Fan stated blandly.

At his words, the seven or eight well-dressed, burly men immediately surrounded him. Unconcerned by their actions, Qin Fan took out a bank card and tossed it in front of the middle-aged man. "1.3 billion. Transfer it to this account."

"Second Master!" As Qin Fan finished speaking, several of the suited men looked toward the middle-aged man and shouted in unison.

"Stand down! The Sovereign Casino opens its doors for business and never defaults on a debt! We will pay every cent that is owed! Zhong Liang!" the middle-aged man declared, his face pale. He then called out a name.

"Second Master," a man with salt-and-pepper hair stepped forward from behind him.

"Transfer 1.3 billion to this account immediately." With his back still to the man, the Second Master picked up the bank card and handed it back over his shoulder.

"Second Master!" the man named Zhong Liang hesitated, his brow furrowed tightly.

"I said transfer it! Now!"

"Yes, Second Master!" Overwhelmed by the Second Master’s imposing aura, Zhong Liang trembled, quickly taking the bank card and hurrying away.

"You’re making me appreciate you a little," Qin Fan taunted the ashen-faced man. "I just wonder if this appreciation will last more than an hour."

His youthful face, mature tone, and arrogant demeanor all seemed entirely out of place for a teenager. More importantly, the old man standing beside him possessed a sage-like aura. Unbeknownst even to Qin Fan, Lai Zhuge’s presence added countless layers of mystery to his persona.

"Rest assured, the Sovereign Casino has dominated for many years. We would never stoop to the level of preventing people from collecting their winnings. I, Li Yicheng, may not be the most capable man, but I’m not that classless," he said, his expression turning serious.

"It’s good to be alive. I hope you don’t go looking for death. Really," Qin Fan said, leaning his hand on the gambling table. The sternness on his face melted away, replaced by a harmless smile as he locked eyes with Li Yicheng, his gaze deep and meaningful.

"Who exactly are you?" Staring into Qin Fan’s eyes, which seemed so clear they were devoid of any impurity, Li Yicheng felt an inexplicable tightness in his chest. He asked a question that seemed simple, almost pointless.

To his surprise, Qin Fan actually answered, "Someone who came to Macau to collect a debt."
