The Revenge of the Reborn Supreme Sovereign-Chapter 286 - 282: You can’t even withstand half a move! (4)
"Lost your voice, have you?"
Under the tranquil night sky, the sound of incessant slapping echoed.
Suddenly, Qin Fan commanded in a deep voice.
Liao Yuanhang, who had momentarily resigned himself to fate, unclenched his teeth and said, "I'm sorry!"
"Continue!" Qin Fan ordered, his face devoid of emotion.
The sound of self-inflicted slaps, mixed with the mantra-like apologies, became the main melody under the night sky.
Across from Liao Yuanhang, the seventeen soldiers remained lost in a state of utter bewilderment.
A Master of Dark Energy is kneeling before us? A member of the Liao Family is slapping his own face and apologizing to us? Liao Yuanhang, the one supposedly backed by a master from the Heavenly List, has been brought this low? Any single one of these events would be absolutely unbelievable! And yet, all of them are happening right before our very eyes.
The sound of slapping grew fainter. The apologies grew weaker.
Five minutes passed. Liao Yuanhang's cheeks had swollen to the size of a pig's head. But no one had told him to stop, so he dared not stop!
RUMBLE—!
Into this bizarre scene, the roar of approaching military vehicles suddenly intruded. Two Eastern Warrior vehicles kicked up sand as they raced forward, screeching to a halt right in front of Qin Fan.
CLATTER! The doors all opened in unison.
The captain who had previously escaped the ordeal was the first to jump out. He was followed by an elderly man in a military uniform and a middle-aged man in his forties wearing civilian clothes, both of whom hurried from the vehicle.
"Stop!!!" the furious old man roared, his eyes fixed on Liao Yuanhang's back.
SWOOSH—!
Hearing that familiar voice, Liao Yuanhang subconsciously stopped his hands and his apologies.
"Keep slapping. Keep apologizing!" Qin Fan scoffed coldly.
SLAP—!
"I'm sorry—!"
SLAP—!
"I'm sorry—!"
It was as if Qin Fan, that devil, had taken root in his heart. At the rebuke, Liao Yuanhang's entire body shuddered, and he reflexively resumed slapping his face and shouting.
The sight of this repeated humiliation nearly made the old man vomit blood in fury.
In that brief pause, the seventeen soldiers finally snapped back to their senses. They all looked at Qin Fan and stammered, "In-Instructor, that's… that's enough!"
The overlapping, staggered voices were filled with shock. At this moment, all seventeen men had completely forgotten the humiliation and pain Qin Fan had inflicted on them just a short time ago. Calling him 'Instructor' was an undeniable acknowledgment of his authority.
"Alright, you can stop now," Qin Fan said, shaking his head with a faint chuckle.
Liao Yuanhang let out a heavy breath, as if granted a grand pardon. He was completely broken, his mind blank and seemingly unconscious.
Just as he stopped, the enraged old man in the military uniform strode quickly toward him.
"Dad!" Liao Yuanhang, still kneeling on the ground, cried out in panic as he looked up at that stern face.
SLAP—!
The response he received was a powerful, resentful backhand from the uniformed man.
The sharp sound echoed as Liao Yuanhang lost his balance and toppled sideways. "A disgrace to the family! The honor of the Liao Family, the dignity of the Liao Family… you worthless beast, you've thrown it all away! All of it!"
After that trembling roar, the uniformed man turned his head and bellowed, "Someone, get this worthless beast in the car!"
Hearing the order, the captain immediately ran over and hauled Liao Yuanhang onto his back. He shot a look filled with a mixture of venom, resentment, and rage at Qin Fan before silently carrying Liao Yuanhang back to the military vehicle.
Without another moment's delay, they started the engine, shifted into gear, and sped away.
"Young man, don't you think you've gone a bit too far?" the old man asked, his face a frosty mask of anger as he stared at Qin Fan. He knew Qin Fan was the instructor Han Rongguang had brought in.
"Try to act tough, and you get put in your place. That's just the way of the Heavenly Dao," Qin Fan said with a dismissive smile. "There's no such thing as going 'too far.' Everyone has to pay for their actions. Unfortunately for him, that schmuck showed up at the wrong place, at the wrong time, saying the wrong things. He doesn't deserve an ounce of pity for what happened. In fact, I was being merciful. If there's nothing else, you can leave. Don't disturb my training."
"He is my son! I am Liao Yuan, and he is a member of the Liao Family!" the old man gritted out.
"When I deal with people, I don't care who they are or what family they come from," Qin Fan sneered, shaking his head. "Liao Family or not, I couldn't care less. Even if his father were the Heavenly King himself, he would've ended up in the same state today."
HONK! HONK! HONK—!
Just as Qin Fan finished speaking, another military vehicle sped over. Honking, it stopped near him, and Han Rongguang and Ye Jiguang quickly got out and walked toward them.
"Senior One!" everyone, except for the old man, the middle-aged man in civilian clothes, and Qin Fan, shouted as they snapped to attention and saluted.
Han Rongguang nodded, waved his hand, and walked swiftly to Qin Fan's side.
But before Han Rongguang could speak, the old man cut in, his voice cold. "Han, I'm sure you're aware of what's happened here. Are you not going to give me an explanation?"
"An explanation?"
Ye Jizu let out a soft breath and gave his head a slight, amused shake.
Han Rongguang, however, looked at the uniformed old man with a smile that wasn't quite a smile. "An explanation? Elder Liao, you want an explanation, is that right? Very well, I'll give you one. As long as this helps the Northwest Military Region escape the shame of last place in the upcoming elite soldier competition between the seven major military regions, I wouldn't just condone what happened to Liao Yuanhang—an outsider to the military. Even if he were actually one of our own from the Northwest, I would still applaud this outcome!
"As for what he came here to do and what he was really thinking, I believe you have some idea as well, Elder Liao. Frankly, I don't know the specifics of what happened, but that doesn't stop me from cheering. He deserved it. He brought it on himself. Elder Liao, are you satisfied with that explanation?"
