Chapter 921: Chapter 921: Beat The Husband

"Young girl... Since you are coming to my house, you should like the owner of the house. Guard, seize this little young girl for me." Zhang Minglu commanded.

A group of guards rushed out and surrounded Yao Huifang and Bai Xifeng. Yao Huifang subconsciously shielded Bai Xifeng, but Bai Xifeng only smiled.

"Zhang Minglu, don’t you dare?" Yao Huifang shouted.

"In this house, I am the law. If I want a woman, I take her. Now, move aside, Yao Huifang, before I decide to teach you your place along with her." Zhang Minglu laughed, a harsh and arrogant sound that echoed through the hall. 𝓯𝙧𝙚𝒆𝙬𝙚𝒃𝙣𝙤𝒗𝓮𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢

The guard rushed to grab Bai Xifeng. However, Bai Xifeng slipped through the guard and stood up before Zhang Minglu could process it. Zhang Minglu’s eyes widened. His laughter died instantly, replaced by a gasp of pure agony as Bai Xifeng got closer to him.

"I was right. You truly are suffering from a kidney deficiency." Bai Xifeng stated before turning to the woman beside him. "Does he just have you at the moment?"

Feeling enraged, Zhang Minglu wanted to slap Bai Xifeng. He raised his hand, wanting to slap Bai Xifeng. However, Bai Xifeng caught Zhang Minglu’s hand mid-air. Zhang Minglu tried to pull his hand away, but it simply would not budge.

"What are you doing? Let go of Brother Zhang this instant!" The woman beside Zhang Minglu shouted.

With a flick of her wrist, Bai Xifeng sent him stumbling back. Zhang Minglu crashed into a nearby decorative table, sending a vase shattering to the floor in a spray of ceramic shards. Zhang Minglu scrambled to his feet, clutching his throbbing wrist. He looked at Bai Xifeng with a mixture of terror and burning hatred.

"You... You..." Zhang Minglu could not utter the words because he was too consumed by rage.

"You... you dare lay a hand on Brother Zhang in his own home? You’re nothing but a vagabond! Guards! Throw this woman into the dungeon!" The woman shouted.

"It is not your place to command others." Yao Huifang stated coldly.

The guards also refused to listen to the woman’s order and stayed still. Only moved after Zhang Minglu gave the command.

"Grab her! Break her legs if you have to!" Zhang Minglu screamed, clutching his bruised wrist.

The first guard lunged forward, reaching for Bai Xifeng’s shoulder with a heavy hand. He did not even see her move. With a fluid, predatory grace, Bai Xifeng pivoted on her heel. She caught the guard’s momentum, redirecting his force so effortlessly that he went flying past her, crashing headfirst into a heavy wooden pillar with a sickening thud.

Two more guards rushed in from the flanks, their swords levelled. Bai Xifeng did not draw a weapon. Well, she did not need to. She stepped into the space between them, her movements a blur of white and silver silk. She struck the first man’s pressure point at the base of his neck with two fingers, sent him collapsing like a puppet with cut strings, and in the same breath, delivered a rising kick to the second guard’s chin.

The man’s head snapped back, and he fell backwards, unconscious, before he hit the polished floor.

Bai Xifeng looked at the remaining guards. "Do you want to beat up like them, too?"

The guards looked at their comrades who were already lying on the ground. They made their decision. They did not move an inch.

"Stupid. Grab her now." Zhang Minglu shouted.

Still no movement from the guards. Bai Xifeng turned her sight to Zhang Minglu. Zhang Minglu immediately became frightened. He was cowering behind the woman. The arrogance had completely drained from his face, replaced by a pale, sickly mask of horror.

Bai Xifeng slowly approached them.

"You... You... Don’t come near me." Zhang Minglu shouted. "Otherwise, I will call the city guard to have you beaten up."

"Go ahead. Call them. Tell them that a single woman defeated your entire security detail without breaking a sweat. I wonder how the rest of Lotus City will look at the ’powerful’ Master Zhang then." Bai Xifeng grinned mischievously.

Zhang Minglu was speechless. ’This girl.... This girl... Who is she?’

Bai Xifeng turned to Yao Huifang.

"Madam Zhang, do you have something to eat? I am hungry." Bai Xifeng rubbed her stomach.

Because they wanted to arrive at Lotus City before nightfall, they had not even stopped to eat. So, Bai Xifeng was very hungry now. If not because of Zhang Minglu’s mumbling, she had already eaten and gone to sleep.

Yao Huifang smiled. "I will have the kitchen staff prepare something for you."

"Thank you, Madam Zhang." Bai Xifeng said.

"Just call me Auntie Yao." Yao Huifang insisted.

"Okay, Auntie Yao." Bai Xifeng nodded.

"Let’s go. I will lead you to a room. You can stay there for the night." Yao Huifang stated.

Bai Xifeng nodded. They walked, leaving Zhang Minglu, the woman and a trail of unconscious guards.

The woman finally found her voice, though it was now a thin, shaky whine. "Brother Zhang... my heart... I think I’m going to faint..."

"Shut up, Susu!" Zhang Minglu snapped, though his voice lacked any of its former bite.

He stared at Bai Xifeng’s retreating back, his heart hammering against his ribs in a rhythm of pure, unadulterated fear. He wanted to know who this young girl was and why Yao Huifang brought her back home. There must be something going on with them.

He looked at the guards who were still there.

"You come here." Zhang Minglu said.

The guard went to Zhang Minglu. "Yes, Sir."

"You go and find out who that young girl is and why she is here." Zhang Minglu gave the order.
