Chapter 10 - Train

"I removed your hand from the bandage. Be sure not to overexert it. It was very cruelly broken. Since you don't have your wolf anymore, it will take time to recover back to normal," Lydia expressed.

Violet's expression turned gloomy for a second, and she lowered her head in depression.

"Do you know when I will be able to regain my wolf?"

Up until now, she didn't have the courage to hear the answer to this question. She was afraid of hearing a negative answer and getting all her hopes crushed.

Her determination to get revenge was still strong, and she needed to be in her best condition in order to achieve success.

Lydia stared at her hesitantly.

"The wolfsbane used on you was highly potent. It is a slow acting poison that not only kills your wolf, but it will also take your life," Lydia explained.

Violet's heart clenched, and she bit down on her lower lip.

Then, in a cracked voice, she asked, "I will slowly die?"

Violet didn't have much hope for living in the first place. She had no home or friends. But it would be unfair to herself and Emma if she did not get justice before her death.

Lydia nodded.

"I will be able to cure it with my expertise, but you have to convince the Alpha. As you might know, he is not quite pleased with you being here," Lydia stated.

Although the Alpha never acted rudely in front of her, simply his eyes were enough for to understand that he was not as approachable as it seems. In fact, there was a thick barrier guarding him.

Violet knew the Alpha would never take her request well.

The hesitancy on her face was clear as a day.

"The Alpha doesn't like me being here. It would be shameless of me to request staying here," Violet conveyed.

Despite being here only for a few days, her heart grew attached to this abode, and she hoped she could overstay her welcome.

But how could she bother others?

"That is why you need to charm him."

"Huh?"

Hearing Lydia say that with a nonchalant expression took her aback.

"You need to be shameless at times in order to reach greater goals. It is the one who knows how to take advantage of others always win. That's the way of life," Lydia explained.

There was a distant look in her brown eyes, as though she was thinking about something.

Lydia, Lucas, and even the Alpha— they were all good werewolves.

They were kind to a stranger like her.

Violet wondered what could have caused them to be expelled out of the pack and stay here, out of nowhere.

Her thoughts were cut short with a violent wave of nausea, followed by a intense gastrointestinal reflux. Unable to hold it back, Violet jumped down from the bed and entered into the washroom, throwing out the content in the stomach.

Once she was done cleaning up, Violet breathed heavily.

These days, she was barely able to hold anything down after eating, and according to what she learned from Lydia, these were the pregnancy symptoms.

"These symptoms will only get worse gradually. For a female werewolf to carry out her pregnancy well, she needs the father of the child to comfort her," Lydia voiced out.

Violet's eyes darkened at that.

Another person she hated as much as Mathew was the man who was with her that day and took advantage of her being drugged.

"You do not like him?" Lydia carefully asked.

Violet shook her head.

"He is a disgusting man, taking advantage of a defenseless girl like that," Violet expressed her distaste.

Lydia nodded.

"Well then, if you want to continue on with the pregnancy, the next four and half months will be difficult for you. Even after the child is born, rearing him and bringing him up will need you to do a lot. It would be better for you to find a stable place to stay at," Lydia advised.

Violet placed her hand on her stomach.

Werewolf pregnancy lasted for six months. Now that she had already passed a month and a half, Violet's attachment to the child prevented her from getting rid of it.

The world made her feel really lonely, and she desperately needed an anchor to cling onto.

The pregnancy made her feel exhausted. Violet slept through the entire day, only to wake up early at four in the morning. Opening the window to her room, she let the refreshing air flow in.

The chilliness made her shudder.

Bending her arms on the window sill, she leaned her head against the frame. On the expanse before her, she watched a werewolf run. The giant and majestic black wolf was Sylas.

After a while, once Sylas was done with his run, he wore a pair of trousers, leaving his top bare. Violet grew up watching grown man being naked all the time and was desensitized to it.

However, Sylas had her in awe.

She hit her head against the frame lightly in order to clear her mind off any dirty and weird thoughts.

Lucas came out of the house after a while. Both of them engaged in combat with Sylas having a clear advantage over Lucas.

Everytime Lucas fell down, Sylas would point towards him to get up, and the man did so with a discontent expression, unable to go against Sylas's order.

Finding the situation to be amusing, a soft chuckle left her mouth.

Watching both of them exchange their moves had Violet copy them. She narrowed her eyes, watching Sylas's each and every carefully, and imitating it.

Compared to Lucas who acted a little recklessly and excessively, Sylas's moves were all controlled yet powerful.

If only he could teach her how to fight.

Then, if she could become like him, she would easily be able to beat the crap out of both Mathew and Bella.

The sun shone brightly on them by the time both of them were done.

Lucas laid down on the ground, unwilling to move, while Sylas shook his head. Wiping the sweat on his body with a towel, he lifted his head to look at Violet.

As his eyes met with hers, as always, Violet nervously looked away.
