The Rogue Alpha's Second Chance-Chapter 19: Bitterly
Chapter 19 - Bitterly
Sylas's finger tapped on the table rhythmically, being the only source of sound.
Then, he ordered, "Lucas, I want her out of the pack by this week."
Lucas frowned upon hearing that. Although he knew that Violet would leave sooner or later, hearing Alpha bring it up abruptly made him feel reluctant.
"Isn't it too soon? Lydia mentioned she needs more medical attention," Lucas voiced out, trying to convince Sylas.
However, Sylas's decision was dead set in stone.
"If Lydia wants to take care of her, she is free to do so, but not in my house. I have no reason to harbor a nuisance," Sylas cruelly said.
Although Lucas was taken aback to hear the Alpha say such harsh words, he was well acquainted with him to know these were his true thoughts from the beginning.
The Alpha chose to stay here in order to lead a peaceful life. Getting involved with Violet was out of his plans.
Lucas sighed, knowing that there was no convincing him. "Alright, I got it."
Violet stood behind the wall, listening to all those words. She covered her mouth to let herself not let out a voice as she felt a sharp pain go through her chest.
A nuisance.
That's what she was to Sylas.
Right. She should have noticed it earlier. He made it clear to her how he didn't find her stay here pleasant yet she shamelessly insisted on being here.
She almost considered this place to be a home, but how could it be her home when she was so unwelcomed? They merely offered her a place to stay out of kindness, and here she was, ungrateful and wishing to occupy this place for as long as she wanted.
Violet was pathetic.
Tears welled up in her eyes.
She immediately wiped them away.
She shouldn't be bothering them any more.
No matter what the consequences she had to face, she couldn't have them involved.
Lucas head towards his room, and before going upstairs, Sylas glanced at where Violet was hiding for a second.
Violet entered her room. She decided to leave the pack before anyone woke up. If they saw her, probably out of the kindness in their heart, they will express their desire to help her.
But Violet did not wish to impose on them further.
Violet didn't have anything to pack. Everything here was provided to her by others. She simply tore a paper and wrote on it.
'Thank for taking care of me. I promise to pay back for everything.'
With that, she placed the paper underneath the lamp.
At around two in the night, Violet hardened her heart and, resolutely, stepped out of the house. If she was in her usual condition, she would have able to easily navigate through the darkness with her senses.
However, after being treated by Lydia carefully, Violet felt like her senses were a little more active. Upon concentration, she could pick up the small noises easily as she tread through the forest.
Although Violet was clueless on what destinations the path led to, her remaining werewolf instincts let her know where the nearby packs are.
There were packs her father had built good diplomatic relationships with, and Violet's initial thoughts were to take refuge there. Although she would go from becoming one burden to another, at least she would have more to contribute to a pack.
Maybe she could negotiate terms to let her have her pack back in return for some benefits.
Thinking like that, Violet found herself being more optimistic.
Although Violet had motivation, her pregnancy did not allow her to keep up with her plans. She was exhausted out soon, and her legs craved for her to give them a break. She wished to close her eyes to take a nap.
After walking for a while, she realized that the sun was starting to rise. A small stream of water fell into her line of sight. Content, she sat down beside it and cupped it to take a sip.
As the cool water travelled down her throat, Violet felt relieved.
When Violet got up from there and was about to continue her journey, she spotted a familiar face. The middle aged man standing in the middle of subservient made her narrow her eyes for closer observation.
Wasn't it Alpha Steven?
Alpha Steven was an acquaintance of her father. When the man was alive, they used to visit each other's packs often, and Violet had been to his pack a few times as well.
Considering the good relationship between them, Violet felt hopeful as she was about to approach him when her steps halted.
"Did you find Violet?" asked Steven, frustrated.
"Not yet, Alpha. We scoured the surroundings. Do you think she might be in that place?" A wolf under him spoke out.
"No matter where she is, we need to dig her out before others. We can't let them get an advantage." Steven raised his voice. "If those Yellow Arrow bastards gets their hand on her, we wouldn't be able to get a bite out of this juicy meat."
Violet immediately hid herself.
Her heart pounded against her chest.
She immediately knew they weren't looking for her for anything good.
There was no one she could trust in this situation.
Judging from their words, it seemed that there were a lot more werewolves who were searching for her.
Being turned into an almost human weakened and altered her scent quite a lot. Along with that, other than few werewolves, not many from outside the pack knew her faces.
Violet rationally analyzed, hoping that would give her a victory over the werewolves.

"Violet left!" Lucas shouted, holding the note she left behind earlier. After he noticed how she didn't get up for the meal, Lucas was about to call her when he noticed she wasn't there in the room.
Lydia frowned, grabbing the paper from her hand.
They have been getting along well these past couple days. What could have prompted her to leave?
Sylas cleared up their doubts by saying, "She heard the conversation last night."
"Alpha, you knew she was listening yet said it?" Lucas questioned— a little shocked. Although the Alpha wanted Violet to be out of the pack, the words yesterday were too harsh.
"It was the truth," Sylas vocalized. "I told her I would make arrangements for her, but she insisted on leaving. She has to live by the decisions she makes."

Lydia knew that underneath that gentle exterior was a cold and cruel heart. He wanted to get rid of Violet before any unnecessary emotions were built up in between them, and the recent progression between them angered him.
Therefore, he took it out on Violet.
Lucas stared at the Alpha incredulously. Although he knew Sylas's nature well, he still felt that he crossed the line. However, Lucas knew he was in no place to voice out his dissatisfaction.
"They are full on hunting for her. It will be dangerous. I will go and search for her, so that she is safe," Lucas stated, about to rush out.
That's when Sylas commanded, "No one is allowed to look for her. She made her decision when she decided to leave. Now, respect it."
The air in the room grew thick, showing how it would greatly displease Sylas if they dared to go against him. Lucas looked at Lydia, wishing for her to come up with anything.
Between both of them, Lucas knew Lydia had the brains.
Lydia stared at the Alpha for a while and then sighed.
"If that's what you want, Alpha, then that shall be it," Lydia voiced out.
Lucas was shocked to hear Lydia's words.
"You—"
Before he could carry on, Lydia interrupted him, "The Alpha has made his decision. We have to follow him."
There was a mocking smile on Lucas's face.
"Fine, then, I will go and search for her. Don't worry, Alpha. I won't bring her here lest that disappoints you," Lucas bitterly expressed before leaving out the door.
