Chapter 85: Changed

Her steps stumbled, and she was about to fall back.

Lucas extended his hand, about to support her when Damian moved a second earlier than him and placed his hand on her waist.

"Do you want me to take you to your room?" Damian softly asked.

Lydia’s gaze fell on Damian’s face. After processing his face for a few seconds, she nodded.

"Good!" she exclaimed.

Lucas’s eyes darkened.

"Come back to your senses, Lydia!" Lucas raised his voice. "Do you not having any sense of danger? How can you let a stranger take you away?"

A groan left Lydia’s mouth, and she slapped her ear. She grumbled. "Why is a fly buzzing in my ear? Get it away."

The corner of Lucas’s lips twitched.

Knowing how stubborn and adamant Lydia can be, Lucas knew he couldn’t easily lead her out of there. A groan left his mouth.

"Fine, I will apologize," he expressed. Then, softening his voice in an attempt to ease her, he carried on, "What happened earlier is my fault. I was too rude to you. Now, forgive me, please?"

Lucas’s pleading tone had Lydia slowly raise her head. Her dark eyes were covered with a layer of water, and she blinked them in a daze.

"Apologize?" Lydia tilted her head.

Lucas nodded.

"Yeah, I am sorry. I was in the wrong. Now, can you come with me?" Lucas tried to sound as sincere as possible.

Lydia moved away from Damian and made her way over to Lucas slowly. Looking at that made Lucas feel relieved. The corner of his lips curled up.

But before he could properly smile, Lydia removed her heels next and attacked Lucas with it.

"You rude bastard! You’re so mean! I am going to kill you today! How dare you call me incompetent!? Fucking bastard! You’re totally dead!"

Lydia cursed between hitting Lucas. Groans of pain left Lucas’s mouth as he tried to hold Lydia’s hands to stop her. But they slipped out of his grip.

"What are you looking at? Go away!" Lucas exclaimed at Damian, who was staring at them in amusement.

"Ow!" Lucas exclaimed when the heel hit right at the side of his head.

The warm, intoxicating scent of the mellow grape wine enveloped Violet. She dove deeper into the soft sheets with a content smile on her face.

As the sunlight entering through the window hit her eyelids, Violet groaned and covered her head with the fluffy duvet.

"It’s about time you wake up," an elegant, masculine voice entered her ears.

Sylas?

Violet’s eyes slowly fluttered open. She made out the vague view of Sylas leaning against the bed, holding a book in his hand. He emanated a refined and gentle air.

What a sight to wake up to?

Was this a dream?

Then, she wished it to continue for longer.

"Alpha," she muttered, wearing a satisfied smile on her face.

The memories of yesterday slowly started to flood in her mind. She dragged Lydia around to find a camera, and when she did, fear to meet Alpha made her want to delay it by visiting a bar.

After that, she mistakenly got drunk.

Her mind started to process everything she did to Sylas. After she upset him, she had the audacity to complain to him and harass him.

Violet hiccuped and immediately jolted up on the bed. Averting her hazel eyes in guilty, Violet slowly enunciated, "Alpha."

"You had a lot to say, Violet," Sylas commented, wearing an amused smile on his face.

Violet’s head shot up. "That wasn’t me, really. I might have been possessed or something. Yeah, it must be the poison Mathew gave me. I entirely lost my mind due to it."

Sylas arched his brows.

"Believe me, Alpha. You know I am not like that." Her hazel eyes stared at Sylas in desperation, hoping for him to spare her.

Sylas nodded understandingly.

"So, that camera isn’t for me?"

Violet blinked her eyes.

"Eh?"

The corner of his lips curled up.

"EH!?" Violet exclaimed in shock.

As her eyes brightened up, she came closer to Sylas and grabbed on to his arms. Then, expectantly, she asked, "You accepted the camera?"

"But it’s not the same." Her dejected voice followed.

"I am afraid you will get drunk again and make trouble for me if I don’t," Sylas teased.

Violet scrunched up her nose.

"I wouldn’t do that," Violet muttered, "I didn’t get drunk on purpose yesterday. It was a mistake."

"Also, I understand your intentions. Thank you," Sylas softly stated, "I was a bit harsh to you. I apologize."

Violet’s heart skipped a beat.

She stared at the man in wonder.

How could he be so gentle and nice?

And that smile on his face, the warm touch in his silver-blue eyes, the sexily tousled shoulder-length dark hair— Sylas should truly be in the museum to be appreciated.

All the sufferings felt worth it at this moment.

Unable to control her bubbling heart, she jumped up to sit on top of Sylas. In the next second, she boldly leaned forward and kissed on his cheeks.

Sylas’s eyes widened in surprise.

Violet then winked at him.

"Alpha, if you keep on being this attractive, you can’t blame me for attacking for you," Violet commented righteously.

Sylas furrowed his brows. "Aren’t you learning to be more and more shameless?"

"I changed my mind, Alpha," Violet declared.

"Changed your mind?"

Violet fervently nodded her head.

"I won’t be watching you from the sidelines anymore, Alpha. I am going to be more greedy and selfish.

I want to occupy your world little by little, learn everything about you, and become really important to you. Whether you agree or not doesn’t matter," Violet sincerely expressed.

"That sounds like a threat," Sylas pointed out calmly.

Violet grinned.

"Well, Alpha, you’re too nice to me, and you always spoil me. That’s why, I am going to take advantage of you," Violet vocalized.

Sylas sighed.

"I get it, but now you’re pregnant and unwell. Violet, let’s calm down, alright?"

Sylas held on to her arms and lifted her smoothly from his body. Then, as he got up, he sat her down on the bed.

Violet raised her head in disgruntlement and said, "Can’t a pregnant woman fall in love?"
