Chapter 214: Chapter 214 Sister

When they arrived and got out of the car, Su Wan and Tong Yao, though not exactly hand in hand, still looked like good sisters, chatting and laughing together.

Girls really are something.

Lin Shuang dragged two small suitcases behind them, his clothes packed together with little maid Tong Yao’s. Wanwan didn’t bring much either, so between the three of them with just two small suitcases, they were traveling light and easy.

Tong Yao’s hometown was in a small village under Jiangdu. Speaking of which, Lin Shuang and Su Wan were also from Jiangdu, making them all fellow villagers.

"Can’t believe Jiangdu has such a beautiful place!"

They parked their car next to a bamboo forest, which upon entering was filled with lush flowers, plants, trees, and even gently flowing streams.

Lin Shuang was just thinking that such a beautiful place was suitable for setting up an entrance fee.

As they turned a corner, they indeed came upon an old lady who was collecting an entrance fee.

A small road was blocked by a barrier, and the old lady sat beside it with a thermos, listening to the radio, in charge of collecting ticket fees.

Su Wan laughed and said, "So, your hometown is actually a tourist spot."

"It’s only begun charging in recent years... When I was a kid, entry was free."

Tong Yao blinked, her expression like a magician about to pull a sweet out for a child: watch my trick!

"But villagers going home don’t have to pay."

She went over to greet the old lady collecting fees.

"Good morning, Mrs. Li."

Mrs. Li snapped back from the opera on the radio, adjusted her reading glasses, and looked at Tong Yao.

"This girl looks familiar... Has the Tong family’s elder girl come back?"

Tong Yao shook her small head, "Mrs. Li, you still remember me~"

Mrs. Li responded with the classic, "I held you when you were little! Of course I remember!"

Her face was full of a kind smile, "Tsk, tsk, look at this girl, getting prettier by the day!"

Tong Yao was almost embarrassed by the praise, "Mrs. Li, how have you been?"

"I’m well!"

Mrs. Li looked at Lin Shuang and Su Wan behind her, "Did you bring your classmates home for a visit?"

She held Tong Yao’s hand and chatted for a bit before finally letting the three of them pass.

That saved them the cost of three entrance tickets~

Su Wan chuckled, "Looks like our Tong Yao, the great school beauty, is also very popular in the village!"

Tong Yao shyly hid behind Lin Shuang.

Suddenly, Lin Shuang remembered another issue.

"Speaking of which... Ayao, how are we going to introduce us to grandma later?"

Hello grandma! I am Tong Yao’s master?

That would probably get them chased out of the village by grandma wielding a broom. ƒree𝑤ebnσvel.com

Before Tong Yao could respond, Su Wan lifted her foot and gave him a kick.

"Of course, as the boyfriend, right? Lin Dasha, are you thinking of denying it?"

"...What about you then?"

A granddaughter’s boyfriend coming home, but also close with another girl?

Grandma would simply wield brooms with both hands, chasing both of them out!

Su Wan lifted her chin and patted Lin Shuang on the shoulder, "I’m your sister, come on, call me ’Sister Wan’ and let’s hear it!"

So, this Wanwan temporarily letting Lin Shuang be with Tong Yao was just to indulge in being called sister!

Lin Shuang thought this indeed might be a solution...

He cleared his throat, "Sister~ Sister?"

Tong Yao giggled, rubbing the goosebumps on her arms.

Su Wan gave him another kick, "Act normal, will you!"

"This just shows our sibling bond!"

Tong Yao glanced back and forth between the two of them, "Indeed, you do look like siblings."

Lin Shuang argued, "I think we’re more like brother and sister!"

Su Wan draped her arm over his shoulder, "Alright, just behave and be your old mom’s little brother!"

Lin Shuang, wrapping an arm around Sister Wan’s shoulder, and the other around Tong Yao.

Blatantly hugging left and right! A girlfriend on one side, a sister on the other, that’s totally reasonable, right?

Su Wan intensified her grip on his shoulder, "Be careful, Lin Dasha, Tong Yao is very popular in the village. Keep your hands to yourself, or you might get kicked out!"

Walking from the entrance towards the village, indeed many people cast their eyes on this trio.

But perhaps it’s because the trio is just too good-looking...

Lin Shuang just indulged in hugging for a bit before letting go, opting to hold Tong Yao’s hand instead.

He nudged Su Wan towards Tong Yao, "You should hold Tong Yao. That formation makes more sense! Otherwise, me hugging both is too conspicuous!"

Su Wan chose to push Lin Shuang away, and she walked hand in hand with Tong Yao at the front.

"Big sister, I think this makes more sense!"

And so, it turned back into Lin Shuang dragging the suitcase and following them.

There are quite a few tourists visiting Tong Yao’s home village.

They’re probably from around Jiangdu, staying for a day or two due to the close proximity.

The environment is indeed nice, adding some extra income to the village. The villagers set up snack stalls and engage in agritourism, making their lives a bit better.

Tong Yao’s grandmother lived inside the village, and the three had to walk through a snack street to reach her.

This snack street wasn’t overly commercialized; the stalls were run by the villagers themselves and looked quite appealing.

At many popular tourist spots, snack streets are standardized, all selling similar stuff like stinky tofu, grilled squid, fruit mixes, expensive yet bland, which makes it less fun.

When traveling, you should try local specialties!

With Su Wan, Tong Yao walked ahead hand in hand, and looking back she softly spoke to Lin Shuang.

"Master... Lin Shuang, it’s almost time for lunch. Grandmother has prepared lunch, so we should eat snacks later?"

Su Wan whispered with a smile, "Almost slipped and called out ’master,’ didn’t you, little maid?"

Tong Yao cutely stuck out her tongue, "It’s just too habit-forming."

It almost slipped out!

Su Wan looked somewhat expectant, "I wonder what grandma would say if she heard..."

Imitating an elderly tone, she said, "Oh dear, young people these days sure know how to play!"

"Grandma wouldn’t say such things!"

Tong Yao pointed at a snack resembling the Plum Cake at one of the stalls.

"This is delicious; you can’t find this taste outside the village~"

Lin Shuang nodded, "It does look tasty~ Later it’s your treat, Ayao!"

Tong Yao patted her chest, "Leave it to me~"

The three then strolled the snack street, walking till the end.

Tong Yao pointed towards a bridge over a small river ahead, "Past that bridge and we’ll be at grandma’s house~"

As she spoke, suddenly a hesitant voice called out.

"Big sister?"

Tong Yao paused, turning her head to the direction of the voice.

At a Noodle rolling shop at the end of the street, a girl in an apron blinked her eyes, locking eyes with the trio.

She nodded to herself, "Indeed, it’s big sister."
