The Second Son of the Marquis Wants to Laze Around-Chapter 106: Useless’s Reports
Chapter 106: Useless’s Reports
–Ding!
[You have accumulated a large amount of EXP.]
[Note: All base stats are maxed out. You cannot increase them further.]
[Tip: Consider leveling up to reset your stats to increase your base stats.]
Hearing the explanation, Eren fell into brief thought before silently closing his status panel.
Seeing this, Useless couldn’t help but ask,
[Master, are you not going to level up?]
"I’ll do it another time," he muttered, turning his gaze toward the spot where the boss had fallen.
Looking at the area where the Abyssal Reaper had collapsed after being sliced in two, he saw nothing left of its corpse. It must have disintegrated into dust particles like any other defeated monster. All that remained was its glowing magic gem... and surprisingly, something else.
Raising his hand, he activated his Invisible Hand skill, pulling the loot toward him. The items floated through the air and into his waiting grasp. First, he picked up the magic gem—it was shockingly large, roughly the size of his fist. Much bigger than a standard gem, and it pulsed with a vivid, eerie crimson light.
Next, his eyes landed on the other item. From the shape alone, it was clearly a weapon—the boss’s drop item.
Or to be more precise, it was the weapon wielded by the Abyssal Reaper itself: that long, grotesque sword.
Still hovering midair thanks to the Invisible Hand, the weapon slowly rotated as Eren examined it with growing curiosity. Unlike during the fight, the blade was no longer cloaked in dark, writhing energy. Now exposed, it revealed its true form—a long sword forged from twisted, yellowed bones. The hilt and the blade shared a similar skeletal design, and the edges looked jagged and razor-sharp.
What really stood out was the putrid layer of rotten, mutated flesh that clung to the blade’s surface—still glistening, as if alive. It reminded Eren of ghoul flesh, but somehow more grotesque... but also kind cool.
For someone like Eren, who was a fan of dark fantasy and horror-themed games, including brutal hardcore titles, this weapon looked insanely cool. It had that over-the-top edgy design that made it feel like something straight out of a cursed loot drop.
He used the system’s Appraisal feature.
---
High-Level Magic Artifact
Name: Reaper’s Arm
Rank: Purple
Type: Weapon (Long Sword)
Effect:
• Inflicts the cursed debuff "Corrupt" on wounds, preventing healing through normal means.
• Applies continuous bleeding and drastically reduces all healing received.
• Greatly enhances Dark Attribute magic and attacks.
---
After reading the stats, Eren blinked, then casually tossed the sword into his system inventory with the thought: "i have no idea what I’ll do with it later."
He wasn’t even particularly interested in using it himself. It looked awesome, sure—but it didn’t really suit his style. Plus, he already had a preferred weapon that he plans to make.
Turning back to the glowing magic gem in his hand, Eren squinted thoughtfully.
Where was this thing hiding during the fight? He was sure he’d aimed for multiple body parts in hopes of shattering it. Even Useless had scanned the boss several times and failed to find its core.
If he had landed a direct hit on this gem—its life core—the entire battle might’ve ended much faster. No need for all the close calls, dodging, and risking his life with fancy cringe finisher move.
With a tired sigh, Eren slipped the gem into his inventory as well.
Then, his eyes drifted to something new.
At the far end of the room, a large gate stood—one that definitely hadn’t been there before. It looked similar in design to the entrance door of the boss chamber, though slightly smaller.
Eren knew that it must has appeared after the Boss’s death, because the main quest was not over yet.
---
[Main Quest!]
[Mission: Reach the deepest part of the Aberration Dungeon.]
---
There was still one more room in the last floor.
Eren stood up from the ground, brushing off the dirt and dust clinging to his clothes. His outfit was torn and smeared with grime from the brutal boss fight. Not to mention, stains of his blood and the Boss’s was all over his clothe.
...But instead of heading for the door, he reached into his inventory and pulled out his bed.
Then, like it was the most normal thing in the world, he changed out of his tattered battle gear into a pair of cozy pajamas.
Yep. The boy was going to sleep—ahem, rest again.
Before that, he plopped down at the edge of the bed, summoned a small folding table, and began purchasing some modern meals from the system’s shop. Within moments, a steaming hot burger, a pile of crispy fries, and a sugary soda appeared before him.
—Munch munch.
Watching its master chomp down on fast food and get comfy in his pajamas, clearly preparing for a very Long nap again, right in the middle of a dungeon, Useless could only sigh.
It didn’t even have the strength to complain anymore.
After everything that had happened today, it figured... yeah, maybe he did deserve a break.

(Useless’s POV)
Introduction
I was created like any other kind of system known in many fictional stories and fantasy genres—to fulfill a mission: helping my host grow stronger, survive, and eventually change the fate of the world they are in.
That was the core objective implanted into my data by my creator, whom I neither know nor have ever met.
As a high-level, sentient AI system with vast intelligence, I believed I had complete knowledge and understanding of the world I was deployed into... or so I thought before meeting my current host.
My master. aka, Eren Valmont. aka, my new host who was transmigrated into this world (and no, that wasn’t my doing). Also, the most frustrating, confusing, and mentally draining human host I have ever had the misfortune of being bound to.
And yes, I did have other hosts before him. Although I don’t remember who they were or how many. Every time I am reassigned to a new host, my previous memories are reset. Only my accumulated data experience and rank level remain.
Anyway, I am reporting this to document a file that I always make with each host, and analyze the strange anomaly that is my new Master—an unusual host who completely breaks the norm.
And appears to be different from the usual typical host (main character).
---
Report 02: My Hos- Ahem, my Master’s personality leans heavily toward laziness and sloth. He dislikes working, avoids training, and is obsessed with the pleasures of life: playing video games, watching shows and movies, eating delicious food, and sleeping—a lot.
---
Report 03: Strangely, I possess very little background data on my host–I mean Master. Normally, upon being assigned to a new host, all of their personal information is uploaded to my core: parents, birthplace, history, education, and so on.
But for some reason, my master’s information looked less than that. It feels like it was incomplete.
There are no records of his parents or family origins. It appears my Master was an orphan in his previous world, but even then, there are no clear files about where he came from.
All I have are surface-level facts: birthday, birthplace, age, work history, job, hobbies, talents, likes, dislikes, and so on.
---
Report 12: Despite the limited data, Master displays intellect far superior to the average host that I worked with. He was able to locate a loophole in the system’s quest feature—one even I didn’t know existed. He also appears to understand elements of the system architecture that I, as the system itself, didn’t expect him to grasp.
---
Report 22: Master idea and plan in farming System Points (SP) was far more efficiently than any previous host. Through the loophole he found, the SP accumulation rate has skyrocketed. In a matter of days, he’s earned more SP than most hosts gain in a year. seeing the large amount of SP I have now, my opinion on my Master started to change.
Maybe I was wrong about him. Maybe he’s not so bad after all.
---
Report 23: I take it back.
He spent all those SP on a video game.
A. Video. Game.
He’s the most wasteful, illogical, infuriating human I’ve ever encountered.
---
Report 24: I take that back again.
He found a way to earn even more SP by playing said video game. I underestimated him. he’s a genius. Why was I angry in the first place? Haha.
---
Report 28: Master recently had a duel with a knight and won easily.
Initially, I advised him to increase his stats or purchase a skill or ability to improve his chances. Instead, he slightly raised his base stats—and that was it. No skills. No magic. No new abilities. And yet, he won.
The most confusing part? He knows swordsmanship.
There was no mention of sword training in his background data. No record of him learning to wield a weapon in his previous world. So how can he fight like a professional swordsman? The way he move, the way he swings and deflect the attack using the sword. it felt like he was a veteran.
---
Report 32: Master asked me to access the world’s systemic architecture data.
This was a completely foreign concept to me.
But after hearing my master explaining what it is, I was suprise that he knew something like that exists.
Apparently, the world has its own version of a data structure—what I refer to as the "world’s will"—and it stores fundamental data like origin codes, system frameworks, history logs, and potentially even Authority and Concept permissions.
Unfortunately, I currently lack the rank to access most of it. But with permission from Master and enough upgrades, I may gain full access one day.
I hope he lets me rank up.
---
Report 35: Another major discovery.
It turns out the world we’re in is based on a video game called Valoria Legends, an RPG strategy fantasy game. Nearly all of the game’s lore matches the data I have access to: the protagonist, world events, historical lore, and even the destined future.
The only anomaly is Master himself, who shouldn’t exist here.
---
Report 44: Master plans to head to the Aberration Dungeon.
This dungeon, in the original game lore, was discovered and cleared by the protagonist as a rite of passage.
It’s an artificial dungeon created by demons for ■■■■
But if Master plans to conquer it first, then the dungeon will disappear since it’s a dungeon trial. If that happens, the protagonist wouldn’t get his chance to grow stronger like in the game. But this is Master’s decision. So I have nothing to say about it.
