Chapter 300: Finally out of danger...or not?

"NO!" Amon screamed as he was swept away by the disaster.

Amon was thrown far away. His body slammed hard against the ground near the base of a small hill.

Thud!

"Gah—!" He groaned the moment he hit the ground.

He rolled a few times, then crashed again. His body finally stopped rolling.

He lay there motionless, wounds all over his body.

Blood streamed down his body. His clothes were torn apart. His left arm felt numb. His ribs screamed in pain every time he tried to breathe. His vision blurred, colors mixing together.

"Kh...!"

Amon coughed weakly. Blood spilled from his mouth and stained the dirt beneath him. He was still alive. Yes, he was barely alive.

’Hah... what sin had I committed, Goddess! Shit!’ He cursed his luck. He really wanted to just get out of here and take some rest.

The terrifying pressure from earlier was weaker here. He was finally some distance away from those monsters.

"Hah... hah..." He breathed heavily. His body felt weaker.

Amon slowly turned his head. His eyes were hazy, but soon they turned clear.

Gulp.

He gulped down his saliva. From here, he could still see the battlefield. And what he saw made his heart tremble.

The fight between the two monsters had become absolute madness.

The huge black gorilla roared as it charged again, its massive fists crashing down like falling mountains. Every punch shattered the ground, sending cracks racing outward. Entire sections of earth collapsed under its blows.

Amon could feel the wind waves formed by their battle hitting him, even from this distance.

The bird monster screamed back, blood pouring from its broken wing. Dark blue mana surged violently around its body as it flapped with its remaining strength, lifting itself into the air again.

SCREEEEEECH!!

It fired another beam. The beam tore through the land, exploding on the gorilla’s chest.

BOOOOOM!!

Smoke, fire, and shattered stone filled the air. But the gorilla did not fall. Both of them were filled with rage toward each other, intent on killing the other.

The gorilla monster staggered back a step, then roared even louder. Its chest was burned and bleeding, but its eyes burned with madness and fury.

It grabbed a massive chunk of rock from the ground and hurled it like a weapon. Its hands gripped the rock tightly as it glared at its enemy.

WHOOOSH!

The rock smashed into the bird monster’s head mid-air.

CRASH!!

The bird spun out of control and slammed into the ground again. Before it could rise, the gorilla jumped. The earth trembled as its shadow fell over the bird.

BOOOOOM!!

The impact created another massive crater. The ground shook so violently that Amon felt it even from here.

The bird monster screeched painfully, thrashing and biting, its sharp beak tearing into the gorilla’s arm. Blood splashed everywhere.

The gorilla roared, grabbed the bird’s neck with both hands, and slammed it repeatedly into the ground.

BOOM!

BOOM!

BOOM!

The forest in the surrounding area was completely destroyed, just by those two abominations.

No trees remained standing nearby. Smoke and dust covered the sky. The land looked like it had been crushed by gods.

Amon watched silently, his heart heavy.

’This... this is the real world,’ he thought weakly.

’And I’m nothing in front of monsters like these. I’m really lucky.’ Amon couldn’t help but wonder if he was lucky or very unlucky.

Another violent explosion erupted as the bird unleashed everything it had left. The blast swallowed both monsters again.

Amon turned his head away. He couldn’t watch anymore. He needed to take this chance and run away from here.

His body trembled. Pain, exhaustion, and blood loss were finally catching up.

’I... I need to leave...’ he thought gravely.

Staying here meant death. If those monsters noticed him again, he wouldn’t even have the strength to crawl.

Using all his remaining willpower, Amon pushed himself up. His legs shook violently.

Step

Step

Each movement felt like knives digging into his bones.

He staggered toward the base of the hill, using rocks to support himself. Blood dripped down, leaving a trail behind him.

Then he saw something a little distance away.

A narrow, dark opening at the base of the hill. It was hidden by leaves and vines. Behind them was a cave.

Amon’s eyes widened slightly.

’...Cave?’

He didn’t think. He didn’t hesitate.

If he stayed outside, he would die. He walked toward it, parting the vines and leaves. He saw the dark path inside.

Without a second thought, Amon stumbled toward the cave and entered inside. The moment he stepped in, everything became pitch black.

Just like outside. Here, there was no light.

BOOM...

The sound of battle still reached him. The ground trembled, but only lightly now, since he was farther away.

Inside, there was cold stone and silence.

Amon didn’t care. All he wanted was to get away as far as possible. Even if it meant walking into something unknown. He didn’t have much choice.

He continued walking deeper, dragging his wounded body forward. His hand brushed against the rough cave walls. The air was damp and cold.

At one point, everything turned silent. There was no sound or tremor from the battle. They were left behind now.

Step...

Step...

He didn’t know how far he walked. Time lost its meaning. His eyes were heavy. His breathing ragged. But he still pushed himself.

’I need to move... more... I need to go far...’

His breathing grew weaker. His thoughts became slow and heavy.

’Just... a little more...’

His legs finally gave out. Amon collapsed onto the cold cave floor. His vision slowly started to fade away.

His eyelids slightly opened.

’Damn... hope... I’ll still be here after waking up...’ Amon thought weakly.

He was on the verge of losing consciousness. Where was he? He didn’t have much idea. Where did this path inside the cave lead? He didn’t know. Once again, he had reached somewhere unknown.

Having no idea where this place might be. Slowly, darkness swallowed his consciousness completely. And just like that, Amon fell unconscious.
