The Soft-Hearted Wife of Mr. Big Shot-Chapter 207: Leo Grant’s Thoughtful Care
What the...?
When did Rose Sawyer arrive? Why didn’t he know?
Leo Grant suddenly panicked, he almost couldn’t hold the bowl steady, he slightly calmed himself down and forced a smile.
"Auntie, I didn’t know you were here, I cooked what Holly likes."
Leo tried to remain calm as he spoke slowly.
If he’d known Rose Sawyer was here, he would definitely have made some dishes she likes, not just ones Holly prefers.
If he’d known Rose Sawyer was here, he definitely would have prepared a whole table of food, unlike now with just a few dishes, and he would have bought some fruit too.
"No worries, what she likes, I like too."
Rose Sawyer smiled, pulling out a chair to sit, her smile unwavering throughout.
Leo must’ve been scared.
Already heard about Leo Grant, just hadn’t met him before or had the opportunity to do so.
"Auntie, I’ve prepared the meal for you."
Leo served the prepared food to Rose Sawyer and handed her chopsticks, his actions were all careful.
Rose Sawyer is in front of Holly, of course, he should treat her well.
Don’t know why Rose Sawyer had come by, making Leo quite nervous inside.
"Thank you."
Rose expressed gratitude as she looked at the dishes on the table.
Shrimp, sweet and sour ribs, minced meat with eggplant, and a plate of stir-fried cabbage.
Four dishes, each one Holly’s favorite.
Rose nodded with satisfaction.
"Auntie, is there anything you want to eat? I’ll make it for you."
Leo served Holly’s meal and asked Rose.
There’s still quite a lot of food at home.
Rose shook her head: "No, it’s enough."
"My mom’s not a tiger, just sit and eat."
Holly tugged at Leo’s sleeve, she slowly spoke.
She could see Leo’s nervousness, she thought it wasn’t necessary.
Leo sat down and began to peel shrimp for Holly.
"Auntie, do you need me to peel shrimp for you?"
Leo looked up and saw Rose had touched everything but the shrimp, and he couldn’t help but ask.
Peeling shrimp for the future mother-in-law, it should be acceptable, right?
Leo thought to himself.
"No need, I’m allergic to shrimp."
Rose shook her head and avoided the shrimp, opting for other dishes.
Allergic to shrimp?
Holly looked up, glanced at Rose, and rolled her eyes dramatically.
Too lazy to peel, just too lazy to peel, claiming to be allergic to shrimp, truly speechless.
Holly was too lazy to comment, she just ate her meal.
"I’ll remember that."
Leo took it seriously and nodded earnestly.
The mealtime quickly passed, afterwards Leo warmed a cup of milk for Holly and also for Rose.
"Auntie, not sure if milk suits your taste."
Leo said.
He’s used to warming milk for Holly daily, not sure if Rose likes drinking milk.
Rose watched the TV intently: "Mm."
"Stop bothering her so much, sit down."
Holly pulled Leo to sit down, she slowly spoke.
She truly felt that Rose was just here to mark her presence.
"By the way, I’m staying here for a few days, Holly hasn’t told you yet, right?"
Rose’s gaze fell on Leo, she spoke slowly.
Holly: "???"
Really staying?
"I’ll go tidy up a room for Auntie."
Leo was stunned for a moment, then quickly reacted, hurriedly heading upstairs.
"You really staying?"
"Aren’t you a woman thinking about disrupting our young people’s lives?"
"There are plenty of places to stay in Arkenfall, why choose here?"
Holly crossed her arms, looking at Rose with disdain in her eyes.
"Mainly to bond with my son-in-law."
Rose crossed her legs and said leisurely.
Just thinking of hanging around for a couple of days without any malice.
"As long as he and I have a good relationship, no need to bond with you."
Holly shot Rose a look, feeling like tossing her out instantly.
With Rose here, the dynamics with Leo changed slightly, making Holly feel Leo’s unease.
Didn’t expect the usually steady young man would have fears.
Holly knew Leo was afraid because of her, worried about leaving a bad impression on Rose, worried Rose won’t like him, worried Rose won’t allow them to be together, worried...
Too much to worry about.
"What, your mom wants to stay for a few days and you’re unhappy?"
Rose raised an eyebrow, looking at Holly, giving her a huge eye roll in return.
"So Ms. Sawyer, after I grew up and started earning money, have you ever stayed with me?"
Holly’s gaze fixated on Rose.
She and Rose rarely stay together, except for a few days during New Year, their time together is extremely limited.
Rose was either traveling or on her way to travel, otherwise attending beauty treatments or some training class.
"I’m just making up for lost time."
Rose casually adjusted her hair, slowly speaking, her tone light, with little fluctuation.
Hmm, actually not really.
"Let’s have some snacks."
"Auntie, would you like some?"
Leo came over with a large bag of snacks and put it on the coffee table.
Holly liked snacking while watching TV, so there were usually plenty of snacks at home.
Rose: "Mm."
She liked snacking too, although getting older, it didn’t diminish her love for snacks.
After placing the snacks down, Leo quickly brought over a plate of cut fruit.
The fruit was neatly sliced, eaten with toothpicks.
"Brother, no need to fuss around, just go about your work."
Seeing Leo bustling around, bringing snacks and then cutting fruit, maybe he’d peel fruit for her next.
Leo worked a full day and really had a busy schedule, yet still took care of her; seeing this made her feel tired.
"It’s okay, I’ll peel a grapefruit for you."
Leo lightly shook his head and said, seeing Holly enjoying her food, he felt the effort was worthwhile despite the tiredness.
"No need, it’s already enough."
Holly pointed at the fruit platter on the table, spoke softly and gently.
It’s already plenty.
"If you keep peeling, I’ll get mad."
Holly turned her head to one side, pretending to be angry.
In truth, she felt sweet inside.
"Alright, I won’t peel anymore."
Leo sighed as he spoke.
The little girl started showing a bit of temper, he naturally had to comply, couldn’t go against her.
"Auntie, I’m going upstairs to work."
Leo informed Rose before heading upstairs.
He usually goes to the study to handle work after coming home, having recently taken over Grant, there’s a lot to do.
Once this busy period is over, there’ll be more free time, and he won’t be so overwhelmed.
Rose nodded, continuing to watch TV.
