The Soft-Hearted Wife of Mr. Big Shot-Chapter 48: Food and Leo Grant
"Boss, you’re such a bad influence on me, boohoo."
Diana Curtis rubbed her round belly, mumbling.
She ate a lot today, all because she was with Holly Sawyer.
Holly Sawyer gave Diana Curtis a sidelong glance, "You’re nuts."
"I gain weight easily, but Boss, you’re different, it’s so frustrating."
Diana Curtis pinched her face, speaking in a tone of grievance.
She truly enjoyed eating, but she was one of those who’d gain weight easily when eating too much; she felt it was pretty tough.
She particularly envied Holly Sawyer, who could eat a lot and still not gain weight, and certainly not gain weight in places that shouldn’t.
Holly Sawyer shrugged, not planning to pay Diana Curtis any attention.
Hmm, getting fat wasn’t really her concern; it was a matter of personal physique.
The two had just returned to the hotel from the night market when Holly Sawyer received a call from Leo Grant, Diana Curtis leaned over to take a look, "Tsk tsk tsk."
She always felt there was something brewing between Leo Grant and Holly Sawyer.
Holly Sawyer answered the call in front of Diana Curtis, "Good evening, brother."
Her voice was cheerful and lively, mixed with a soft warmth that was particularly pleasant to listen to.
"I’m in Arkenfall, wait for me."
Leo Grant’s call was only a few short words; after saying it, he hung up.
Holly Sawyer blinked a bit, staring at the disconnected call with a bewildered expression; it was now eleven at night.
It was already very late; Leo Grant came to Arkenfall at this hour? Oh, no, to be precise, he just arrived in Arkenfall now.
What was he coming for?
"Boss, what’s up?"
Diana Curtis looked at Holly Sawyer’s dazed expression after the call ended; she blinked and asked.
"Leo Grant is coming over later."
Holly Sawyer calmly put away her phone, speaking each word deliberately, feeling it was rather weird.
Diana Curtis: "..."
"Without the boss around, Leo Grant must be missing you."
Diana Curtis lay flat on the bed, closed her eyes slightly with a playful smile on her face, teasing.
Tsk, she increasingly felt there’s something going on between Holly Sawyer and Leo Grant; the two actually matched quite well standing together.
"You’re nuts."
Holly Sawyer gave Diana Curtis a side-eye, assuming Diana Curtis’s brain was malfunctioning.
The airport was half an hour’s journey from the hotel; Holly Sawyer went to take a shower, then sat on the bed playing with her phone.
Leo Grant should be coming over later.
Half an hour later, the hotel room doorbell was rung; Diana Curtis was sitting on the bed watching Holly Sawyer with interest as Holly Sawyer put on her shoes to open the door.
"Brother."
Holly Sawyer beamed a sweet smile, her voice was sweet too.
The moment Leo Grant saw Holly Sawyer, a smile appeared on his face as well.
Seeing the little girl felt really good.
Holly Sawyer glanced back at Diana Curtis to confirm she was dressed properly before letting Leo Grant in this time.
"Brother, come in and sit; did you book a room for yourself since it’s so late?"
Holly Sawyer’s voice was particularly sweet; she blinked and asked with concern.
Seeing Leo Grant, her mood was indeed quite good.
"Hmm, I did, right at this hotel."
"It’s for you."
Leo Grant held a big bag of things in his hands, warmly smiling as he spoke, then handed the things to Holly Sawyer.
They were all things young girls liked to eat; he went out of his way to get them because the little girl liked them.
Skewers, octopus balls... these street snacks; the little girl just loved them.
"Wow, thank you, brother."
Seeing the food, Holly Sawyer’s eyes lit up instantly, happily thanking Leo Grant.
Leo Grant watched the little girl’s smile, feeling particularly happy inside; as long as the little girl was happy, that was good.
"Hello, Young Master Grant."
Diana Curtis was sitting on the bed playing games; upon seeing Leo Grant, she glanced up to greet him and then continued to indulge in her game.
Many modern college students liked playing games; Diana Curtis was quite obsessed; the games were truly fun.
Leo Grant gently responded: "Hmm."
"Brother, have some water."
Holly Sawyer went to pour water for Leo Grant, her smile never waned.
"Get some rest early; I’m heading back to sleep too."
Leo Grant drank some water, gently rubbing Holly Sawyer’s head, speaking softly.
Staying in the little girl’s room wasn’t really appropriate; it was better if he went back.
"Goodnight, brother."
Holly Sawyer saw Leo Grant out, then shut the door, hurriedly retrieving the things Leo Grant had brought over to start eating.
Diana Curtis: "..."
She had just been about to say something, but seeing Holly Sawyer’s eating demeanor, she instantly forgot what she intended to say.
Actually, Diana Curtis was pondering a question, between a man and food, what would Holly Sawyer choose?
Hmm, would it still be food?
"Hey, come eat together."
Holly Sawyer didn’t forget to invite Diana Curtis.
"I’m not eating, I’ll gain weight."
Diana Curtis rubbed her belly, swallowing with a gulp as she spoke.
She actually wanted to eat, but knowing she ate a bit too much tonight, she opted to pass.
If she gained weight, she couldn’t wear pretty clothes or nice dresses; she felt it was particularly tough.
Faced with delicious food, she had no resistance but had to endure.
"Oh, then I’ll eat myself."
Holly Sawyer nodded while speaking; she never cared about gaining weight; she only knew that she shouldn’t be resistant to delicious food.
If it should be eaten, then eat; if it should be drunk, then drink; if gaining weight happens, so be it; present joy is key.
"Boss, between Leo Grant and delicious food, what would you choose?"
Diana Curtis asked Holly Sawyer, genuinely curious.
The interaction between Holly Sawyer and Leo Grant was quite like that of a couple; Leo Grant’s daily head-pats left Holly Sawyer unfazed, as if she’s already accustomed.
Leo Grant, so cold and detached, would always smile tenderly in Holly Sawyer’s presence.
"What?"
Holly Sawyer paused her eating, blinking, as if she didn’t catch what Diana Curtis said.
"I said, between Leo Grant and delicious food, if you could only choose one, what would you pick?"
Diana Curtis repeated her question, particularly curious.
Even though she and Holly Sawyer had a superior-subordinate relationship, they interact more like friends in daily life.
"What kind of question is that, is your brain malfunctioning?"
Holly Sawyer furrowed her brows, finding Diana Curtis’s question oddly perplexing.
Leo Grant is a person; delicious food is something to eat—two different things, why choose between them?
Truly strange.
"I’m going to sleep."
Diana Curtis yawned as she spoke.
Hmm, Holly Sawyer might not quite understand.
Actually, for Diana Curtis, choosing between Leo Grant and delicious food, somehow, the first thought she’d have would be Leo Grant.
