The Soul System in the Apocalypse-Chapter 488: A Glimmer of Hope

Due to the ferocity that Henry possessed as he hunted the monsters down, at that moment, the energy level that was in his body actually began rising. Despite the fact that the rate at which it was increasing was extremely low, but even then, progress was still progress.

One had to know that Henry had been hunting monsters in the dungeon for an entire week, but even then, there was no change to the energy reserves. But right now, with the number of monsters that he was killing increasing, there was actually a change that was happening. And for that, Henry was even more motivated, killing monsters left and right.

Due to the speed that he was killing the monsters with, the speed at which the monsters in the dungeon was being spawned could not catch up with the rate at which Henry was eliminating the monsters. And for that reason, Henry could only wait until a monster was spawned before he killed it off.

The monsters that kept on appearing were completely surprised the moment that they realized that there was a human who had appeared where they were, and before they could even react, they were immediately killed off.

The monsters at the gold rank already possessed quite some intelligence, and could already communicate in the human language. So, it was no doubt that those that had already reached the platinum rank possessed much more intelligence.

But due to the limitations of the dungeon, they could not transform, and neither could they communicate with the humans that entered into the dungeon. Simply put, the monsters that were being spawned within the dungeon played no any other role other than being a method that the humans could utilize in order level up.

Henry of course did not care about what the monsters were thinking before they died. To him, all that he thought about was the progress that he was making, and the hope of breaking through and reaching the next rank.

As he continued hunting monsters, he did not bring any more people from the Domination Star territory in order for them to level up. Instead, he decided to level up by himself first, before bringing them here so that they could continue leveling up as well.

Despite all the effort that Henry was putting on, he realized that the dungeon was the only thing that was limiting him from improving at an incredible speed. But even then, there was nothing that he could do considering that he could not move to the next level of the dungeon.

Despite all of that, Henry was not planning to give up at all, considering that there was a progress that he was making, despite it being so small. So, for the following 2 days, he continued hunting monsters within the dungeon, without having much communication with the outside world.

But of course, that did not mean that he was completely ignoring the outside world. Instead, using the telepathic connection that he possessed with his summoned creatures, he could communicate with them as long as there was anything urgent.

Within the two days that he was within the dungeon, he hunted the monsters day and night. In any case, it was not as if the dungeon actually possessed day and night. The dungeon was day throughout, no matter what time it was in the outside world.

He only took a few breaks in order to take his meals, or to relieve himself, but other than that, he simply continued hunting monsters, which was the main reason why he was in the dungeon.

Due to the effort that he had put in, Henry realized that currently, he was actually capable of causing the barrier that was preventing him from breaking the next level to tremble. But even then, that was not enough, considering that he needed to break it, and not just shake it.

But even then, Henry could not help but be a little worried. After all, even after an entire week and two days, all that he could do to that barrier was to shake it slightly, and the intensity at which the barrier was shaking was something that could actually be ignored if nobody observed it closely.

Despite all of that, Henry decided to continue working hard, trying to reach the next level. In any case, it was not as if there was anything that was trying to prevent him from reaching the next level other than the barrier that he was supposed to break.

It was a good thing that there was nobody that was attacking the territories under him. And in any case, even if there was anybody that was attacking the territories, Olivia and the others who had already reach level 9 of the Platinum rank could definitely take care of the problem.

And since that was the case, it was better for him to be able to level up as soon as possible before any bigger problem arose. In any case, this was the apocalypse, and nobody could tell when danger would arrive.

When he was needed, he would have to go out, at that time, he would not only be wasting time, but there would also be a possibility of the danger that Olivia and the others could not handle, to be a person or a creature that was already in the next rank, after the platinum rank.

Of course, while Henry was inside the dungeon, trying to break through, several things continued to happen all over the world.

Due to the members of the other races banding together in order to attack the human territories, the casualties on the human side had increased drastically.

But even then, the humans had also decided to begin collaborating with each other in order for them to be able to resist the power of the members of the other races.

It might be true that the distance between a territory and another was kind of big, but even then, it was better for them to take the risk that was involved in moving between territories, in order to seek help, rather than waiting for the members of the other races to come over and annihilate them.

Due to several territories that were located in cities close to each other collaborating with each other, they finally began being capable of resisting the members of the other races.

But even then, it was definitely impossible for them to be able to defeat the members of the other races. After all, the members of the other races possessed some strange skills, and other than that, they also possessed much more information than them.

For that reason, the power that they possessed was extremely high. Additionally, there was an advantage that they possessed in terms of numbers. That was an advantage that the humans could not reciprocate at all.

During the time that they had managed to begin resisting the members of the other races, they were still at a disadvantage. As for breaking that disadvantage, there was actually no sign of it at all.

And when they began thinking about the fact that the fourth stage of the apocalypse was coming, if the fourth stage of the apocalypse arrived and they were still suppressed by the members of the other races, they would definitely be eliminated at that time.

According to what had happened so far, they knew that as long as another stage of the apocalypse descended into this world, more of the members of the other races would descend into this world, strengthening the strength that was already possessed by those that had descended earlier.

But there was nothing that they could do at this point, considering that in terms of strength and member advantage, they were completely overwhelmed by the members of the other races.

So, the operations of the mysterious group was only within Bila nation. The worst thing was the fact that they were located at the furthest south of the continent, and for them to be able to reach the entire continent, it was definitely going to take them quite a while.

And of course, during the time that they were still handling the members of the other races that were located in the areas that they were currently at, those that were not located in their vicinity were still viciously attacking the humans.

But, there was another thing that suddenly happened that surprised both the members of the other races and the humans. That was due to the fact that another group suddenly arose from the north. The nation that was located in the north was Ravo. But the same problem was there, they also appeared in the furthest north of Ravo.

Despite the fact that hope had arose from both the north and the south, it was definitely going to take quite a while for those that were located at the very center of the continent to be able to receive much help from them.

But even then, with a glimmer of hope, there was always a possibility of there being a future. And with that, the humans tried as much as possible in order to hold on, believing that perhaps there was going to be another group that was going to arise from the very center of the continent.
