The Soul System in the Apocalypse-Chapter 496: The Next Stage

Henry had just thought about the next stage of the apocalypse when suddenly, he detected that some changes had suddenly occurred outside. Without hesitation, he immediately rushed out of the main territory building, leaving his dumbfounded family behind.

The moment that Henry rushed out of the main territory building, he realized that outside, everything had suddenly gone dark. He had not noticed this thing during the time that he was inside the house considering that the main territory building was well lit up.

But now that he had gone out, the entire world seemed to have fallen into a state of darkness. The darkness was completely inexplicable considering that it was currently noon, and there was definitely not supposed to be any darkness.

Looking up into the sky, Henry could not see even a single star. It was as if the entire sky had suddenly decided to darken up.

At this moment, the entire atmosphere of the whole world had become gloomy. At the same time, several humans immediately began panicking. After all, they immediately understood that the indication that was being given right now was a hint that a disaster was coming.

There was never even a single day that they had experienced such a phenomena, that the humans had not suffered. That implied that if the descent of the next stage of the Apocalypse was not coming, then that implied that there was something else that was changing all over the world.

Henry immediately decided to contact Olivia and the others. They had to come back to the territory as soon as possible. Of course, that was just a method of making sure that in case there was something unexpected that happened, they would be able to handle it easily.

If trouble occurred in several territories at the same time, there was no possible way that Henry could be in every place at the same time. He could only be in a single place at a given time, so, it was better if Olivia and the others returned to the territory so that they could be dispatched according to the situation that they would be experiencing at that time.

Of course, Henry could simply go to the territories that had already been taken over by Olivia and the others using the ability of the Lord of the territory that allowed him to teleport to any territory as long as it was under his jurisdiction.

But considering that there was something else that was coming, nobody could know just how many users would be required in order to transport people from one territory to another in case there was an emergency in one territory.

After communicating with Olivia and the others through his summoned creatures, Henry looked towards the sky once more. At this moment, he could not notice anything suspicious at all, but even then, that made him frown and at the same time, solemn.

At this moment, the entire territory was completely silent the moment that they realized that there was a change that was happening. Simultaneously, although there were a few people that tried to do some illegal actions, taking this chance, they were easily subdued by those that were in charge of security.

The ones that were experiencing the most trouble among the territories that were currently under Henry were definitely those territories that had just been recently taken over by Olivia and the others. In any case, order had not been fully established in those territories, and so, it was easy for them to be able to rebel. That was especially so for those territories that had been forcefully taken over by Olivia and the others.

As time went by, everybody suddenly began feeling their hearts palpating. They did not understand what was going on, but at that moment, they felt that there was a hint of fear that appeared within their hearts.

The same thing applied to Henry. This was actually the first time that he had experienced fear ever since the start of the apocalypse. Even the time that the monsters invaded the facility that they had been locked in for several years, he was not that much scared, considering that he believed in the system that he got.

And this time, it was not natural fear that he was experiencing, but instead, it was as if the fear was being induced into everybody. As for who it was, nobody could tell.

Henry was immediately displeased by the fact that he was actually being forced to experience fear. He tried resisting it, but no matter how much he tried, he could not resist the fear that was coming from within his heart.

And as time went by, the fear that was within his heart continued increasing slowly. Despite the fact that the rate at which the fear was increasing was kind of slow, but as long as time was given, the fear would definitely reach an extremely high level.

In the end, after realizing that he could not control the fear that he was experiencing, Henry decided that it was better for him to simply focus on other matters. As for the matter of dealing with the fear, since he was not powerful enough to resist, he could only wait for the opportunity for him to make sure that he got strong enough to be able to resist something such as this of being controlled.

Immediately, he gave instructions to Wendy and the others that were within the territory at the moment, for them to organize for the defense of the territory.

It was usual that during the time that another stage of the apocalypse descended, there would be some changes that would occur all over the world, and at the same time, several territories would be attacked from either within or outside.

Of course, each and every time that something like that happened, casualties would always be high, that being especially so for those territories that faced internal attacks. But that was something that Henry was not willing to experience, considering that each and every human life counted, as long as they were within his territory.

It might be true that some of them what kind of useless, and stubborn, but there would be some point in time that they would be important. After all, they could simply be utilized as cannon fodders. So, it was clear that there was nobody that was considered as useless within the territory.

And now, with the descent of the next stage of the apocalypse, that implied that the humans would once again fall into another form of disadvantage.

Due to that, the humans tried as much as possible to avoid attacking the members of the other races, including those mysterious groups. They had to make enough preparations in order to deal with the next stage of the apocalypse, or they would end up failing, and even losing their own lives.
