The Spoilt Beauty And Her Beasts-Chapter 577: Tsk. So unfair. I want to hold her too
The dining hall was warm and bright. Smoke from the cooking fire drifted lazily against the stone ceiling, and the rich smell of roasted meat filled the air.
Everyone had gathered again tonight, sitting around the large stone table that Cyrus had made. Isabella sat in the middle as usual. The men naturally took the places closest to her.
Zyran sat on her left. Cyrus on her right. Kian beside Cyrus. Osiris sat opposite her, watching quietly.
At first, the meal started normally. But soon, the men noticed something.
Isabella was eating a lot.
Not just a little. A lot.
She reached for another piece of meat, then another, and another. Her spoon never rested. Her cheeks puffed slightly as she chewed, her eyes bright as she grabbed a bowl of stew and drank it to the last drop.
Zyran blinked. Cyrus paused mid bite. Kian looked away, pretending not to stare. Osiris watched with a stunned expression.
Isabella only realized they had stopped eating when she reached for the next dish and saw all four pairs of male eyes staring at her.
"What?" Isabella asked, frowning. "Why are you all looking at me?"
Cyrus immediately pushed a bowl of cooked roots toward her. "Eat more if you want. I will start cooking larger portions every day."
"No!" Isabella quickly put the bowl down. "If you keep cooking more, I’ll get fat. I don’t want to become fat. It’s hard to keep a good shape."
Cyrus chuckled softly. His pink eyes softened. "Even if you gain weight, you will still be the most beautiful female in this world."
Her ears turned slightly pink. "You’re just saying that."
"You are beautiful," Cyrus replied.
Zyran leaned lazily against the table, grinning. "Besides, if you get fatter, you’ll look even sexier."
Isabella froze. Then she slowly turned her head toward him. "Are you saying I am not sexy right now?"
Zyran raised both hands in surrender. "You are very sexy right now. Extremely. Painfully. Dangerously."
Cyrus shot him a look. Zyran only smirked and stole a piece of meat from Cyrus’s plate.
Kian, who had remained quiet, suddenly reached out and placed a tender piece of meat into Isabella’s bowl.
"Eat more," he said calmly. "So the babies will grow well."
The table fell silent.
Isabella pressed her lips together and didn’t look at him. "It’s none of your business."
Her voice was cold. She didn’t raise her head once.
Kian didn’t defend himself. He simply lowered his gaze and continued eating. He could feel the distance she placed between them. He knew why. But knowing didn’t lessen the dull ache in his chest.
Osiris looked at the scene quietly. He had joined the village only recently, and he hadn’t expected Isabella to be surrounded by males who adored her.
Cyrus was always near her. Zyran never left her alone. Even the cold Kian had soft eyes for her. Watching them feed her, fuss over her, and speak to her with gentle tones he’d never heard before left a bitter taste in his mouth.
So many men want her...
I was too naive.
He lowered his head and silently tore his meat.
Across the table, Shelia leaned closer to Ophelia.
"Ophelia," she whispered, "what happened between Isabella and Kian while I was unconscious? Before all this, they were so close. I thought they would have been mates by now. But she won’t even look at him today."
Ophelia shook her head. "I don’t know. Before she left the village, she was angry. But Isabella didn’t tell me the reason."
Shelia crossed her arms and glared toward her brother. "Hmph. Then I must teach him a lesson later. He surely did something to upset her."
Ophelia stifled a laugh, and Valen gently fed her fruit while the two women whispered.
The meal continued, filled with light chatter and the occasional argument between Zyran and Osiris, who finally snapped after Zyran took the last good piece of meat.
"Why do you always grab the best parts?" Osiris grumbled.
"Because I’m faster," Zyran replied proudly.
"You—"
"Eat quickly," Isabella said, cutting them off, "or I will finish the rest myself."
The males froze.
Then they all reached toward the dish at the same time.
Shelia covered her mouth, laughing. "Our village really has changed. We have so much food now, so many new faces. We must be the envy of every other village."
Ophelia nodded. "People from other villages are already asking about us. They say our small village is growing at a frightening speed."
At those words, Isabella’s hand paused mid air.
It’s true... if the world hears about our progress, attacks will follow.
We need gates. We need defenses.
We need to prepare now.
But she didn’t say anything. This was not the time.
She simply smiled faintly and picked up another bowl of stew.
When the meal ended, Isabella stood, stretching her back. Cyrus immediately moved to support her.
"Come," he said gently. "It’s time to rest."
"I can walk on my own," Isabella muttered, though her hand naturally slipped into his.
Cyrus smiled softly without arguing.
Zyran clicked his tongue. "Tsk. So unfair. I want to hold her too."
"You want too much," Isabella shot back.
Kian rose silently, his eyes lingering on her for a moment before he looked away.
Osiris watched her leave between the two strongest males of the village, his heart tightening again. Jealousy burned quietly in his chest, but he swallowed his feelings. He had no right to speak.
Cyrus led Isabella out of the dining hall, his hand warm around hers. The moonlight outside painted her face with a gentle glow. She looked tired. But peaceful.
"Today was a long day," Cyrus murmured. "You worked hard again."
Isabella let out a breath and leaned against him lightly. "I always work hard."
"And I will always take care of you."
She didn’t reply, but her fingers curled around his hand.
They walked back toward their stone room, the night quiet around them, the village lanterns flickering softly. Behind them, laughter echoed from the dining hall as the others cleaned up.
For now, everything felt warm. Safe.
The storm could come later.
Tonight, she could rest.
Cyrus pushed the door open and guided her inside, closing the world gently behind them.
