"What do you mean by dual partners?" Solomon asked. The other person in the room was obviously also shocked, just like he was.

Solomon knew that the system had been giving him missions, giving him cashback that had changed his life.

His purpose of staying low-key and living an ordinary life had shifted.

He now had a new sense of purpose, to survive, make money, bring his family out of poverty, bring his sister out of poverty, and stand out in the wealthy class.

He never knew that the system would set him up with somebody he would carry out missions with.

He felt like the system was going to introduce him into a new world, something different from what he had seen before. Missions different from everything else.

"Why can you see the system message?" Solomon voiced his question to Dylan, the thought that had been running through his mind. Everything about this guy was very weird.

It was obvious he knew many secrets about the system that he didn’t know, and Solomon couldn’t help but get curious about the secrets this guy held.

Dylan looked at Solomon with a cocky smile. "Well, obviously, it’s because I also have a system," he admitted, letting out a slight chuckle.

"What’s with this wristwatch? What is it about?" Solomon asked, his eyes fixed straight on Dylan ’s hand.

"You’re pretty clever, huh?" Dylan looked at Solomon and muttered with a slight smirk. Solomon had noticed something was off the whole time.

He had observed this guy, his every reaction, the way he would sometimes touch his wristwatch and hide it, keeping it protectively like he was constantly expecting danger and would protect his wristwatch so that danger wouldn’t come to it.

Dylan paused for a moment, as if thinking whether to share the details about the story behind the wristwatch with Solomon or not.

Then the system message appeared: Both of you are now partners. You have no secrets to hide from him. You can share anything you want to reveal with him.

Dylan looked at Solomon and said, holding his own hand up and rubbing the wristwatch while looking at it. "First, before I tell you about the wristwatch, let me tell you about myself and who I am.

The thing is, I’m a veteran interdimensional world hopper. Yes, I got connected with this weird thing called the system after an accident happened. Something from the sky crashed near town.

Back then, I was just getting out of the car at my school. The object crashed at our school, and the thing crashed near me. Weirdly, this wristwatch thing fell and crashed before me.

It created a shield, and because of this wristwatch, I was transported to another place. I didn’t die from the accident, and that was when the wristwatch connected to me.

So now the wristwatch is my own system. It opens an entire dimensional portal, and I do world-hopping missions. I get different rewards if I finish the missions."

"Is that it?" Solomon asked, feeling like Dylan was keeping out some details.

"Well you have caught me lying! That’s it. I won’t skip anything. I’ll tell you in detail," Dylan said. "So, five years ago, about ten thousand players were selected from different continents around the world by the system.

We don’t know who is behind the system. We don’t know its purpose. We go world-hopping, and each of the ten thousand players has their own system and they’re given their missions.

But I know for sure that several times in the mission worlds, other players have tried to kill me. I was very curious why, and it’s because we were after the same purpose, to get a precious item.

So now, anytime you meet a player, know that they are there with the same goal as you."

Dylan continued, "Apart from this, the worlds that we hop into exist, but they exist in different dimensions.

The purpose of the system is we get rewards when we find the valuable items that the system wants. When we succeed, it can be of value to us or to the system at the same time.

The system gives rewards, it’s like a cheat for you to move forward in life. The bad news is that you do not decide when the mission comes. You do not decide the world that you go to.

And in the system world, if you die in that world, You die in real life. There’s nothing like respawning," Dylan said, ending his explanation with a dramatic gesture toward Solomon’s face. Solomon had to shift back to avoid Dylan ’s spit from landing on his face.

"So, is that it? I’ve told you about my system. Would you tell me about your own system?" Dylan asked.

Should he tell him or not? Solomon wondered in his mind. He was going to be honest, but he wouldn’t tell Dylan everything in detail. So Solomon said, "Well, my own system is that anything I own or possess, I get double of it whenever I use it." He didn’t mention anything about money specifically. He wasn’t being too detailed.

Dylan looked at Solomon and nodded. "Oh, I get it," as if he had built his own understanding in his head.

"So, your system and my system, now this system wants us to team up together, I guess. Both of us are teammates now," Dylan said.

"Yeah, we’re teammates," Solomon confirmed.

"I’ve gone through several mission worlds. I’ve gone through twenty-three mission worlds, came back almost half-dead sometimes, came back victorious other times," Dylan added.

Listening to the last part that Dylan added, Solomon became very curious. He never imagined that something like this could ever happen or exist. Several mission worlds, several universes, what spaces could exist in all those worlds? How did they function? What was it like there? Solomon was amazed that something like this, so out of the ordinary, could possibly exist.

If Dylan could survive in several mission worlds, Solomon bet this guy was very skilled, calculative, and talented in surviving difficult situations. It wasn’t bad for a partner.

Dylan was not done talking, he obviously had a lot to say, but before he could continue, the system notification immediately rang.
