The SSS Ranked Villain's Return-Chapter 282: Stumbling Upon Her
Neraxis was currently in a bit of a situation.
Yes, he could scavenge the entire city and maybe find Zaria after a few days or so.
However, the problem was that he had no clue where to even start.
The residential areas had several floors, and he could see many levitating platforms connecting each of them.
There were thousands of people walking on them, some even setting up mini shops.
From what he could observe, there were five floors in total. The ones on the highest floor were the richest, while those at the very bottom were just average-income earners.
Therefore, as little as he knew about Zaria, he would immediately head for the topmost floor.
However, as he sneakily descended, he suddenly froze.
Would she really be on the top floors? Neraxis pondered. From what I can tell... she's not the type to like rich people, so maybe...
He changed his mind and instead levitated down past the flying cars, platforms, and everything else until he eventually arrived at the ground floor.
It was a bit funny how this was considered an area that didn't house many rich people, when in reality, it looked just as good as Argon's streets on a daily basis.
But still, despite the modernity, he felt more at home in Argon.
However, he felt like this place could be a great cover-up for his family's safety.
There were too many people present, and if Neraxis simply hid their identities using his bloodline's sanctuary ability, then he would be able to get away with living here scot-free.
To top it all off, if anyone were ever to invade, the entire city would back him—even if not intentionally.
Hmm... my genius fails to—
He halted, gazing at a particular figure walking down the street.
It was a woman with red hair, and out of instinct, Neraxis dashed toward her, appearing right in front of her face.
But not even a moment later, he realized it wasn't her.
"Kyaaa!" she screamed, slapping him across the face.
Neraxis didn't dodge, merely tanking it like a champ as he decided to simply rest up on a nearby bench.
That woman and Zaria had some similarities, however, he noticed one crucial detail he didn't know how to deal with.
Alice seemed to have the tendency to not look people in the eyes—she didn't even know the eye color of her best friend.
Updat𝓮d from frёewebnoѵēl.com.
The only person whose eye color she had taken notice of was his.
Damn... I'll never find her at this rate... let me think, Neraxis grumbled, falling into thought. When she appeared in her chimera form, she had blue crystals for eyes, then maybe her eyes were blue...?
That was kind of the only somewhat logical thing he could come up with at the moment, even if it didn't make any goddamn sense.
Therefore, Neraxis decided to look for blue-eyed redheads. At least red hair wasn't that common, as he could only spot a handful among the people walking here.
Neraxis stood up absentmindedly, preparing to check out the next redhead he found.
However, someone suddenly bumped into him, nearly toppling him over.
Instead, the one responsible fell straight on their ass and looked up at Neraxis with a furrowed brow.
It was a red-haired woman who just so happened to have clear, silver-colored eyes.
"Watch where you're fucking standing, eh?" she said menacingly, then stood up and looked him up and down. "Well, ain't you a piece of work? Standing there all wide-eyed. I guess you like what you see?"
"Maybe?" Neraxis muttered, causing her brows to furrow.
"You were supposed to say no," the woman shot back. "But I guess you don't know basic etiquette. It's fine..."
Suddenly, dozens of sirens blared in the distance, approaching them at a very fast pace.
"Oh shit, gotta go, see you... actually, you know what? Fuck you," the woman snickered and proceeded to dash into the alley behind him.
All the while, Neraxis was still stunned.
There was a certain familiarity with this girl in particular. Even what little Alice saw of her facial features seemed to match up.
Her hands were delicate and firm, just the only thing that was missing was the quiver on her back she used to carry daily.
However, if she was running away from the police, then it was probably because she was sloppily hiding her identity.
Despite that, since he saw the police approach with several armored trucks, Neraxis decided to go out on a whim and dash into the alleyway after the woman.
She was pretty fast, but obviously not as fast as him, so after just a few seconds, he caught up to her.
The woman seemed slightly surprised at his speed, so she tried to scale the building in an attempt to escape him.
Yet when she arrived at the very top, Neraxis was already there, looking at her with an amused expression.
"Tsk..." The woman glanced around with a frown. "You're like a thorn in my ass, you know that? Are you with my family?"
"I'll answer that if you tell me your name," Neraxis replied playfully. "Or is that a secret too?"
"It is." The woman scoffed. "For all I know, you're going to turn me in to my family for the big-ass bounty they placed on my head. Just forget it and go your way."
Neraxis tilted his head. "And if I don't?"
The woman giggled as she waved her hands in the air, summoning an expensive-looking white bow.
"Well... if you won't back off willingly, then I suppose I'll have to make you back off myself, won't I?" she said with a wide grin.
In the very next moment, she took out an arrow from her dimensional ring, nocked it on her bow, and fired.
Yet as the arrow flew, it suddenly split in two—then into four, then eight—until eventually, hundreds of arrows reached Neraxis.
But instead of wariness, what he felt was relief.
"I found you..."
