Chapter 630: Chapter 630: Revisiting the Underground Base_1

Hearing this, the group exchanged uneasy glances. Under Zhang Xian’s intimidation, they were at a loss for what to do next.

Ordinary people behaving defiantly wouldn’t be much of a threat, as they were in quite the superior position and the place was full of experts. But, the youngster before them was no ordinary person, he was a god of death.

Even the squad of grandmaster-level warriors led by Chris had suffered multiple losses in confrontations with Zhang Xian. Could they really handle him?

"I’ve been tailing you. Hence, I have a rough understanding of your orchard, but not enough details," Zhang Xian smirked, lighting a cigarette and crossing his legs. "Who among you can tell me in detail about this orchard? If you do so, I might consider sparing your life. Conversely, if you refuse to say anything, death will be certain, and it won’t be easy. Those who’ve experienced my methods can attest to it."

"Young man, I think you’ve come to the wrong place," replied an old man coldly and with a smirk. "Since you know that our orchard isn’t ordinary, you should also know that we have many masters here. I admit, your abilities might be impressive, but you are outnumbered. If you surrender, we might consider sparing you."

"Young man, don’t be too arrogant," Dr. Cao coldly intervened. "Some places are not meant for you."

"It seems you have a lot of confidence in yourselves?"

Zhang Xian looked at the old man and said, "Fine, call your men now and show me what you’ve got. If you can kill me, you will have nothing to worry about. But if you fail, I will make you regret being born, longing for death more than life, yet unable to die."

"Er..." Dr. Cao and the elderly man wanted to scare Zhang Xian. Despite knowing his capabilities, they had to concede their threats might not work.

To their surprise, the young man in front of them was incredibly arrogant, angering them beyond belief.

There were several skilled fighters gathered with them, yet the young man viewed them with such contempt. No words could describe their frustration.

However, despite their anger, they weren’t going to lose their minds and engage Zhang Xian recklessly. They knew they could not defeat him.

A middle-aged man glanced at Zhang Xian, then suddenly dashed towards the side table and hit a red button.

"Beep Beep Beep..."

An alarm immediately rang throughout the orchard.

"Seeking death..."

Zhang Xian lifted his hand and sent out a burst of spiritual energy which decapitated the middle-aged man.

"Oh crap..."

The elderly man and those with Dr. Cao blanched and quickly retreated.

"What’s happening?"

At that moment, a few middle-aged men rushed into the villa, quickly followed by more. In just a few seconds, nearly ten men had stormed into the building.

"Capture this kid," Dr. Cao commanded, turning to dash towards the rear of the villa.

Dr. Cao and the others in his group followed, bolting to the back of the villa.

"What are those two up to?" Zhang Xian felt puzzled.

Why had Dr. Cao and the old man run to the back? He had noticed no exit from the back when he had come in. If they wished to escape, they would need to loop to the front.

Without time for further thought, the men inside the villa were already charging at him. After avoiding the simultaneous attacks from two men, he quickly rushed towards the back of the villa.

Dr. Cao and the elderly man were key figures. He could not let them escape.

"Quickly open the door. That guy is gaining on us."

Looking back and seeing Zhang Xian just behind them, the elderly man’s heart raced with fear.

Without daring to look back, Dr. Cao rushed to a wall and after removing a hanging picture, quickly punched a set of numbers into a small keypad.

"Click..."

The corridor’s smooth floor suddenly split apart, revealing a downward staircase.

Upon seeing this, Dr. Cao, the elderly man, and a man in a white jacket quickly ran down the stairs. As the hidden door, which had only opened halfway, suddenly started closing, they had just barely entered.

"Clever boys."

By the time Zhang Xian reached the spot, the secret door was already closed, blocking his way.

But he wasn’t worried. As long as those three hadn’t escaped, he could find a way inside. This hidden door wouldn’t be too much of a problem.

At that moment, a middle-aged man lunged at him from behind, wielding a short, sharp knife aimed at Zhang Xian’s neck.

Zhang Xian turned and in a few swift strides, several ’blub’ sounds later, the middle-aged men rushing down the corridor abruptly froze before toppling over.

Their throats were slit open, blood pouring out from the wounds.

"Uh..."

The others about to rush towards him were astonished, stunned into immobility at how easily Zhang Xian had dispatched their comrades, like slicing through vegetables.

How could this young man be so terrifying?

"No one dares to step forward?"

Zhang Xian gave a cold smile, and quickly charged towards those inside the villa. "If you don’t dare to confront me, I do. Do you really think the lapdogs of the God’s spokesperson have it easy? Are you all gods?"

"Puh... Puh... Puh..." Sounds of a blade piercing flesh rang out.

Under Zhang Xian’s ferocious attack, no one in the villa could escape or avoid him. Not a single person could withstand one of his blows.

Those who had rushed in afterwards met the same end. Some hadn’t even managed to comprehend what was occurring before an uncanny force severed their heads, causing them to fall to the ground.

Soon, blood was streaming throughout the villa, filling the air with an overpowering smell of blood.

"No one’s coming."

Zhang Xian stood in the villa, his gaze fixed on the doorway.

After waiting for a while and seeing that no one else was coming in, he coldly smiled, turned and walked towards the mechanical door, leaped up and stamped his foot down.

"Boom..."

A tremendous noise echoed, shaking the entire villa. However, the mechanical door only sank inwards a bit, and did not shatter.

"Huh? It’s pretty sturdy."

Zhang Xian smiled, as the Spiritual Energy inside his body started rotating rapidly, transforming into Spiritual Origin.

Then, his body started to glimmer with golden light, and several small swords appeared in front of him. With a lift of his hand, the tiny swords spun around him and fiercely stabbed onto the mechanical door.

"Boom..."

A streak of golden light swept across, and the previously sturdy mechanical door immediately shattered into pieces, revealing a wide opening.

"As expected, the Heavenly Sword’s power is greater, much more fierce."

With a smug grin, Zhang Xian kicked open the mechanical door and swiftly rushed in.

...

Outside the orchard, Fu Meiting was pacing back and forth anxiously.

Soon after Zhang Xian went in, the sounds of an alarm came from inside, followed by chaos. She wasn’t sure how Zhang Xian was doing, but knew a battle must have started inside.

Even though she knew that Zhang Xian was very powerful, the number of people inside was many, and there were too many unknown variables. She couldn’t help but worry.

"Screech..."

Suddenly, a harsh friction noise was heard.

A black SUV raced up from the foothill, creating a gust of wind as it came to a stop right next to Fu Meiting.

"Click..."

The car door was pushed open and three middle-aged men got out one after the other.

One of the men, wearing a duckbill cap, glanced at Fu Meiting and then approached her with a smile, asking, "Miss, are you Miss Fu?"

"Uhm..."

Fu Meiting hesitated, then asked, "Are you from Skynet?"

"Yes, Old Man Han sent us to help."

The middle-aged man nodded and asked, "Where is Mr. Zhang? Has he gone in already?"

"Yes, he’s already inside."

Fu Meiting said, "You’re just in time. I heard the alarm coming from inside just now. They must have discovered Zhang Xian. We should hurry and check."

"Alright, let’s go in now."

The three men nodded and charged into the orchard with Fu Meiting.

At this moment, there was hardly anyone in sight within the orchard. Everyone who had previously been bustling outside had vanished without a trace.

"There’s a smell of blood."

The middle-aged man in the duckbill cap sniffed and said, "It’s coming from over there, let’s check it out."

Upon hearing this, Fu Meiting and the others immediately changed directions.

Soon, a villa appeared in front of them, and the sickening smell of blood was emanating from inside. As they approached, the smell of blood intensified, making everyone feel nauseous.

"Tsk tsk..."

One of the middle-aged men smacked his lips, saying, "With such a strong smell of blood, how many people must have died?"

"This..." The middle-aged man with the duckbill cap also grew curious.

However, as soon as he walked into the villa and saw the horrific scene before him, he froze with fear. The floor of the villa was covered with countless bodies heaped haphazardly, and the ground was soaked red with fresh blood.

"Ah... What happened here..."

Upon entering the villa and seeing the scene, Fu Meiting let out a piercing scream.

"Miss Fu, you should probably go outside."

The man in the duckbill cap said, "This is not a place for you girls. Most people can’t handle a scene like this, it may have psychological impacts if you keep looking at it"

"I’m fine, you don’t need to worry about me."

Fu Meiting shook her head, suppressed her rising nausea and covered her nose, "Let’s just keep going."

The three men exchanged resigned smiles, shook their heads, and followed her deeper into the villa.

The villa wasn’t large, about 300 square meters or so. It was decorated simply, even seeming somewhat desolate.

The man with the duckbill cap led Fu Meiting and the others around the villa. After making sure that no one was inside or outside, they once again returned to the mechanical door they encountered earlier.

"Mr. Zhang should be in here."

The man with the duckbill cap said, "When we inspected earlier, there was no door or signs of struggle at the rear of the villa. The front was the same. So, Zhang Xian should have entered here and not left afterward."

"Mmm, I think so too."

Another middle-aged man nodded, "We should go in and check now. If Mr. Zhang is really inside, we can maybe offer some help."

"Why are you still dawdling here instead of rushing in?" Fu Meiting glared at the man in the duckbill cap and rushed into the mechanical door first. freёweɓnovel_com

The three men were taken aback and hurriedly followed, "Miss Fu, wait for us."
