Chapter 46: Chapter 46: Making Ian Rowe a Cuckold

Of course, she didn’t forget to retort to Vincent Summers, "How could someone as idle as you understand the feeling of being invited to dinner? You go ahead and have dinner alone by candlelight!"

Across from Maya Monroe sat Ian Rowe, and she almost instantly sensed a somewhat sharp gaze directed at her.

Vincent Summers was quick to say, "Brother Ian is still sitting here. Maya Monroe, which random guy are you going to date now? Could it be another candlelight dinner?"

Vincent’s eyes showed disdain. He knew Maya Monroe couldn’t keep her craftiness under wraps, previously stirring up rumors with other male artists to raise her profile. Now, she didn’t even bother to hide it, saying right in front of Brother Ian that she was going to date another man, blatantly putting a green hat on Brother Ian.

Vincent mourned for Ian Rowe in his heart, feeling that Ian was terribly unlucky to have married Maya Monroe, whom he believed was in no way a match for Ian.

Maya Monroe never knew Vincent Summers had such an imagination, able to conjure up so much absurdity from a single sentence of hers.

Maya shot a bland glance at Vincent, "I think you’re the one who’s eager to have a candlelight dinner with someone else. I’m a career woman; shouldn’t I attend a wrap party after filming wraps up?"

As if she remembered something, Maya didn’t forget to throw a flirtatious wink at Ian Rowe, "Besides, my hubby is so handsome and excellent, I would have to be out of my mind to look for someone else, right darling? My sweet little treasure."

Maya always remembered her task of disgustingly annoying Ian Rowe.

Sure enough, Ian’s expression was somewhat complicated, though no one noticed his eyes darkening.

Maya smiled back.

Vincent couldn’t hold it any longer, wishing he could just hug a trash can and puke, "Wow, Maya! Can’t you act normal? The way you go around being greasy and annoying, even if you have a crush on our Brother Ian, he’d never accept you!"

With Vincent’s assurance, Maya felt completely at ease.

"This is none of your business. The main character hasn’t said a word, yet you’re babbling nonstop like a chatterbox!"

"You..." Vincent’s face turned ashen, but he didn’t dare to hurl more insults due to Ian Rowe’s gaze.

Having shot back at Vincent and racked up some dislike from Ian too, Maya was quite pleased as she casually swung her slim, white ankle.

As for the cherry tomato in her mouth, Maya didn’t forget to praise it, "So sweet."

She then broke into a smile.

Vincent tugged at the corner of his mouth but didn’t say anything further.

"Where are you going? Let the driver take you." It was Ian Rowe’s voice, tossing the document in his hand aside, his deep, dark eyes looking at Maya.

Maya was about to say something when she suddenly received a call from Scott.

"Okay, I’m stepping out now."

Ending the call, Maya smiled at Ian Rowe, "No need to trouble the driver, hubby, I’m leaving now."

Ian watched her, "Alright."

As she brushed past Vincent, Maya gathered her strength and gave his arm a fierce bump.

"You!"

Vincent clutched his arm, eyes wide as he looked at Maya.

Maya smiled, her charming eyes full of innocence, "I’m sorry, it was entirely my fault. I accidentally bumped into you; you won’t mind, right? After all, my husband is here and can surely see my innocent actions just now."

Maya had long been irritated by Vincent; his criticisms were everywhere.

"You venomous woman!" Vincent didn’t expect Maya to use Ian Rowe against him. However, growing up close as brothers, Vincent believed their bond couldn’t be matched by mere Maya Monroe.

"Brother Ian, did you see how Maya was being unreasonable just now? You must have seen her vicious expression!" Vincent remarked confidently, shooting Maya a glare.

Maya shrugged, nonchalantly saying, "For a grown man, do you really need to be so petty with me?"

Vincent was frustrated, finding her combativeness and malicious nature far exceeding that of an ordinary girl.

Vincent waited a long time but didn’t get a response from Ian Rowe, leaving him disappointed.

It turns out that forsaking righteousness for beauty isn’t just talk...

Maya smiled, "It’s getting late, I’ll take my leave."

Maya waved at Ian Rowe, her smile radiant, "Bye-bye, hubby."

After Maya left, Vincent approached Ian, "Brother Ian, why didn’t you defend me just now?"

Ian picked up his tablet to resume work, glancing at Vincent, "She sometimes likes to joke around; you don’t have to take it to heart."

Even a fool would sense Ian’s favor for Maya Monroe.

"Brother Ian, when did you start to like Maya Monroe?"

Ian’s hand paused in mid-air, hesitating to land on the screen.

Maya arrived at the restaurant Shane Morgan had booked and took her seat according to the arrangement, with over half of the attendees already present.

Shane Morgan spotted her and came over to greet her, "Monroe, you’re here."

Maya, in good spirits, smiled, "Director Morgan."

Shane Morgan was increasingly fond of Maya’s obedience and sensibility, his affection for her rising rapidly.

"You still have my contact information, right? Next time there’s a chance, we must collaborate again!"

Maya nodded, casually acknowledging his remark.

Not long after, Leo Lancaster arrived and sat straight down beside Maya, wearing a casual suit and always having a gentle smile, "Monroe, you came pretty early."

Maya exchanged a glance with Kiki Monroe across from her, then focused her gaze on Leo, "I had nothing else to do, so I came over."

The main reason, actually, was the much-anticipated delicious food.

Leo nodded, "I’ve really enjoyed filming with you these past days. I’ve forgotten how long it’s been since I could spend time with you like this. I hope we can film together again next time," he said sincerely.

Kiki Monroe, opposite, sat at her spot, absentminded as people greeted and chatted with her.

Maya had first chatted with Shane Morgan, now Leo was also sitting next to her, and Kiki only felt she was utterly invisible. Despite being the main character of the wrap party, why was everyone gravitating around Maya?

"Kiki, you’re here," a staff member greeted her.

"Do you think it’s inappropriate for me as the female lead not to be here?"

Annoyed, Kiki snapped back.

"Kiki..." The other person looked astonished.

It was only then that Kiki realized her words just now completely overturned her [previously] obedient and sensible image in others’ minds.
