The True Heiress is the Reserved Fiancé's Exclusive Memory-Chapter 700 - 719: Don’t Mess with Me (1)
The little girl opened her big eyes, but her voice was very small.
It sounded like she was testing the waters, and she was a bit timid.
Caiden Ward looked at her, just feeling a pang in his heart. After a moment, he coaxed gently, "Who said that? Our Maeve is so cute, how could we not want you? Rest easy, as long as you’re willing, Uncle Ward will always take care of you."
"Grandma said so." Maeve hugged his neck with her chubby arms and pouted, "That’s what Grandma just said. She wanted you to go on a date and give me to Uncle Davis, that’s what she meant."
"Didn’t Uncle not give you away?" Caiden Ward smiled gently.
Maeve’s eyes rolled twice, and she grinned, "That’s right, you didn’t give me away."
"See, there you go." Caiden Ward lifted his hand and pinched her soft, tender cheek.
Maeve chuckled, kicked off her shoes, and kneeled directly on him.
Caiden Ward let out a muffled "ouch."
The sound was odd and quite loud, which gave Maeve a big scare.
Even George Davis, sitting in front, was stunned. He glanced at Caiden Ward through the rearview mirror, guessed what happened, and held back his laughter without saying a word.
But Maeve was puzzled and asked, "Uncle, what’s wrong with you?"
She almost kneeled him into being unable to move.
Caiden Ward drew in a sharp breath, adjusted his sitting position, and forced a smile, "It’s nothing."
The kid is only a few years old, what does she understand? Even if he said it, she would have no way of understanding. Besides...
Caiden Ward met her big eyes.
Maeve’s eyes were very beautiful, big, and bright. Due to her naturally lively nature, her eyes were full of spirit, shining when she smiled, and carried a bewildered, innocent look when she spoke seriously—nothing looked more naive or innocent.
She was also very pretty.
Though a bit chubby, that only made her cuter.
Little girls should be chubby.
Caiden Ward just felt that no matter how he looked at this girl, she seemed perfect, like the most adorable and beautiful treasure in the world.
One day she will grow up and certainly be even prettier.
A top beauty class.
He stared at Maeve’s face, looking at her eyes and nose. Slowly, it seemed like he could imagine what she might look like when she grows up.
A bit expectant, a bit wistful.
Who knows which lucky rascal in the future could have the blessing of marrying their Maeve.
The mere thought made him a little displeased.
Just as expected, fathers in this world always cherish their precious ones, and no boys ever seem pleasing, like their carefully raised cabbage getting rooted out when they least expect it.
Caiden Ward didn’t even know who he was upset with and snorted a laugh.
Maeve gave his mouth a peck with a "pop" sound, happily sat down, and lazily leaned in his arms.
Caiden Ward lowered his eyes to glance at her, and suddenly, he thought of the little boy she bullied at the kindergarten during the day and asked, "Why did that little friend at kindergarten kiss you today?"
"He said I look cute." Maeve puffed her cheeks, lifted her head, and said, "Do you think I’m cute, Uncle Ward?" 𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎
"Cute," Caiden Ward said sincerely.
Maeve giggled, "Uncle Ward is cute too."
"..." Caiden Ward was taken aback and instructed, "Hitting people is wrong, but kissing people randomly is even worse. Girls should be a bit reserved. If anyone tries to kiss you forcibly in the future, just hit him with building blocks. Uncle Ward’s got your back."
"Okay," Maeve nodded earnestly.
The driver, George Davis in front, could not help but feel a mix of amusement and exasperation.
He just thought, are there really parents in this world who teach kids like this?
