The Twisted Obsession-Chapter 337: Father-Son reunion
Chapter 337: Father-Son reunion
As the warmth of the fire filled the room and the soft hum of conversation settled, Remo leaned over to Abby and gently excused himself. "I’ll be right back," he whispered, giving her hand a soft squeeze before standing and stepping into the hallway. Abby gave him a curious look but nodded, turning her attention back to Olivia and Luca, who was now fast asleep in his mother’s arms.
Remo pulled out his phone, feeling the weight of what he was about to do. He had known for a while now that Luca was Tony’s son, though his best friend had never officially met the boy. It wasn’t for lack of wanting to; Tony had simply respected Olivia’s space and her decision to keep her life with Luca separate. But now that Olivia had shown up here, on Christmas Eve no less, Remo felt it was time to bridge that gap. He owed it to both Tony and Luca.
He opened his text messages and tapped on Tony’s name, quickly typing out a message.
"Olivia’s here with Luca."
There was a brief pause as Remo stared at the words. He sighed, then added,
"I think it’s time you meet him, brother."
Satisfied with the message, Remo hit send and slipped his phone back into his pocket. He stood there for a moment, leaning against the wall, his mind racing. This wasn’t an easy situation for anyone involved, but he knew Tony deserved to know his son. And Luca deserved to know his father.
A soft chime broke the silence as his phone vibrated in his pocket. Remo pulled it out and saw Tony’s response.
"What? She’s there with him? I’m on my way."
Remo stared at the text, feeling a knot tighten in his chest. He knew Tony wouldn’t hesitate to come, but there was no telling how Olivia would react when he showed up. The tension between them had been palpable ever since she left, and Remo wasn’t sure how she’d handle seeing Tony now.
Still, he trusted that this was the right thing to do. He slipped his phone back into his pocket and returned to the living room, where the peaceful scene of Olivia and Luca remained unchanged. Abby glanced up at him as he walked back in, a soft smile on her lips, but she immediately noticed the subtle tension in his expression.
"Is everything okay?" she asked, her voice gentle as she reached out to take his hand.
Remo gave her a small nod, squeezing her hand in reassurance. "Yeah. Everything’s fine," he said, though his eyes flickered briefly toward Olivia and Luca. He hesitated for a moment, then added, "Tony’s on his way."
Abby blinked in surprise. "Tony?"
Remo nodded, his gaze still on Olivia. "He hasn’t met Luca yet. I thought it was time."
Abby’s expression softened, and she glanced toward Olivia, who was still quietly watching her son sleep. It was a delicate situation, but Abby trusted Remo’s judgment. She knew how important Tony was to him, and if anyone could handle this with care, it was Remo.
Olivia, sensing the shift in the room, looked up at them. "What’s going on?" she asked, her voice quiet but curious.
Remo stepped forward, his expression calm but serious. "Olivia, I texted Tony. He’s coming over."
For a moment, Olivia froze, her arms tightening protectively around Luca. Her eyes widened slightly, and Abby could see the flicker of fear and uncertainty flash across her face. "Tony’s coming here?" she whispered, her voice shaky.
Remo nodded, stepping closer but keeping his tone soft. "I know this isn’t easy, but I think it’s time. He deserves to meet his son."
Olivia’s gaze dropped to Luca’s sleeping face, her emotions swirling visibly beneath the surface. "I didn’t expect this," she whispered, her fingers brushing through Luca’s hair. "I... I don’t know if I’m ready."
Abby knelt beside her, placing a comforting hand on her shoulder. "You don’t have to do this alone," she said softly. "We’re here for you, Olivia. Whatever happens, you’re in control."
Tears welled up in Olivia’s eyes, and she nodded, her breath shaky. "I’ve been so scared of this moment," she admitted. "I didn’t know if Tony would want to be involved... if he’d even care."
Remo knelt beside her, his voice gentle but firm. "Tony cares more than you know. He’s respected your decision because he didn’t want to make things harder for you. But he wants to be there for Luca, and he’s ready to take on that responsibility."
Olivia wiped at her eyes, her shoulders trembling slightly. "I never wanted to keep Luca from him... I just... I was scared," she whispered. "I didn’t know how to handle everything."
Abby squeezed her shoulder. "You’ve been a great mother, Olivia. And no one can take that away from you. But it’s okay to let Tony be a part of Luca’s life now."
For a few long moments, silence hung in the air as Olivia composed herself, her emotions a complex mix of relief, fear, and hope. Then, slowly, she nodded, her grip on Luca loosening as she took a deep breath.
"Okay," she whispered. "Let’s do this."
Just then, the doorbell rang again, and the atmosphere in the room shifted. Remo stood up, exchanging a quick glance with Abby before walking to the door. When he opened it, Tony stood on the other side, his eyes sharp but laced with uncertainty.
Remo stepped aside to let him in, and Tony walked in slowly, his gaze immediately finding Olivia and Luca on the couch. He stopped in his tracks, his expression softening as he took in the sight of his son for the first time.
Luca, sensing the shift in the room, stirred in his sleep, blinking up at Olivia. "Mommy?" he mumbled, rubbing his eyes.
Olivia stroked his hair gently. "It’s okay, sweetie. We have a visitor," she said softly, glancing up at Tony.
Luca’s eyes flickered toward Tony, who was now standing just a few feet away. The boy stared at him curiously, his little brow furrowed in confusion.
Tony swallowed hard, his voice barely a whisper. "Hi, Luca."
Luca blinked, tilting his head slightly. "Who are you?" he asked innocently.
Olivia’s heart clenched, but she smiled softly, glancing between Tony and Luca. "Luca... this is your dad."
For a moment, time seemed to stand still as the weight of the words settled in. Luca’s eyes widened, and he looked up at Tony, his expression a mixture of surprise and curiosity.
Tony, his heart pounding in his chest, knelt down slowly, tears pricking the corners of his eyes as he finally spoke. "Yeah, buddy. I’m your dad."
