The Tycoon's Mysterious Darling Wife-Chapter 528 - 531. Fu Hengyi, I am pregnant.
Shen Qinglan felt her son’s mood was noticeably better when she came to pick him up from school again, "Did something happy happen today that you want to share with mommy?" she asked with a smile.
Anan grinned, "Mommy, I made up with Jingjing, and Jingjing is not angry anymore."
"Oh? What did you do?"
"I apologized to Jingjing and gave her some milk candy that Uncle bought for me," Anan said honestly. "Jingjing said the aunt at uncle’s house is very pretty."
Shen Qinglan smiled. She usually took a hands-off approach when it came to the squabbles between children, so long as it wasn’t excessive. Although she would reason with her child, she left most of it for him to handle himself.
The first thing Anan did when he got home was go to see Princess Beibei. The little one had been changing every day, and Anan was extremely fond of her, to the point of even neglecting Haohao who had come to visit.
"Little Auntie, hello." Haohao greeted Shen Qinglan with a smile, and Shen Qinglan patted his head, "It’s been a while since you last came. Have you been busy with school?" Besides the school curriculum, Haohao had a variety of extracurricular classes to attend.
Pei Yinong was not keen on her son taking so many classes, but she couldn’t withstand Haohao’s eagerness. Shen Qinglan and Pei Yinong agreed on the children’s education: extracurricular classes should truly reflect the children’s own interests. If the children wanted to learn something, the parents wouldn’t stop them. And if they didn’t, the parents wouldn’t force them.
"It has been a bit busy. Auntie, I’ve recently started self-studying at a junior high level," said eight-year-old Haohao, speaking with an air of maturity beyond his years.
Shen Qinglan raised an eyebrow, "Thinking of skipping a grade?"
Haohao nodded, "Yes, but mommy disagrees. She wants me to finish elementary school in the regular order. But the kids in class are all too childish, and I already know everything the teacher teaches; going to school is really boring."
"Haohao, your mom wants you to have a normal childhood, where you can play and grow up with your classmates. If you skip a grade, all your classmates will be much older than you, and you might feel lonely." Shen Qinglan could understand Pei Yinong’s decision, but Haohao was a very intelligent and precocious child whose psychological age was far beyond his peers. Forcing him to stay with children of his age was actually an unpleasant situation for Haohao.
"Auntie, I know, but I really don’t like my current class. They act like big kids but do such childish things, and I find it boring to waste time on things I’ve learned and already mastered." Haohao’s expression was serious.
Shen Qinglan frowned in thought, "Alright then, I’ll help you talk to your mom about it."
Haohao’s face lit up with a smile instantly, and he hugged Shen Qinglan tightly, "Auntie, you’re the best." Only then did he exhibit some of a child’s innocence.
Shen Qinglan smiled gently, "Am I not usually good?"
"Auntie is always great, you’re my favorite," Haohao sweet-talked.
Pei Yinong came downstairs just in time to see Haohao clinging to Shen Qinglan in a display of affection and felt a pang of jealousy. This boy always acted so grown-up when talking to her, but only acted like this around Shen Qinglan.
"Cousin," Shen Qinglan called out, and Haohao stepped out of her embrace, making faces at Shen Qinglan, who gave him a reassuring look.
"Mommy, Auntie, I’m going upstairs to see little sister and brother," Haohao said, and darted upstairs. Pei Yinong looked at Shen Qinglan, "What did that little rascal say to you?"
Shen Qinglan laughed, "How did cousin know that Haohao had something to tell me?"
"I’m the one who raised that kid; how could I not know what he’s thinking? He definitely talked to you about wanting to skip grades."
Shen Qinglan didn’t deny it, "Cousin, I think we should let Haohao skip a grade. He’s mentally more mature than his peers, and it’s not happy for him to be forced to stay with them. This goes against your original intention too."
Pei Yinong sighed, "I understand what you’re saying. I’ve discussed it with Chenxi recently, and we will go to the school to take care of it in a few days. Though, I haven’t told that little rascal yet."
"If Haohao knew, he would definitely be very happy."
"Sigh, actually, I’d rather he have a simple and happy childhood just like an ordinary kid," Pei Yinong said with a bitter smile.
"Cousin, actually whether he’s happy or not should be up to Haohao to decide. He doesn’t like the life he has now."
"Yeah, let it be. As long as he thinks it’s good, that’s fine. The kid’s grown up; I can’t manage him anymore," Pei Yinong sighed.
Seeing that Pei Yinong had made up her mind, Shen Qinglan naturally would not say anything else and changed the topic, "Cousin, do you and Chenxi plan to have another child?"
At the mention of this, Pei Yinong felt down again, "I do want to, but Chenxi wants to wait. He’s worried that having a child right after we get married might make Haohao feel upset, and you know, Haohao is a rather sensitive child."
"Aren’t Chenxi’s parents saying anything about you not having a child now?" Mr. and Mrs. Jiang were not very keen on Pei Yinong marrying Jiang Chenxi in the first place. If Pei Yinong didn’t have children after marriage, she likely wouldn’t have an easy time.
"Chenxi has discussed it with his parents. I don’t know how he communicated with them, but after we got married, his parents haven’t mentioned anything about this," she said.
"Actually, you could discuss this with Haohao; he would understand," Shen Qinglan suggested, knowing that Haohao was mature for his age and good communication would not pose any problem.
"I have brought up the issue with him before. Although he didn’t say anything on the surface, I could feel that he was a bit downhearted. Qinglan, I’m truly worried that if we have a baby, and Haohao doesn’t like it, this..."
There had been many reports in the news about older siblings not liking their younger siblings, even to the point of hurting them. Every time she saw such news, she would feel scared, although Haohao was not such an extreme child who would do such things, but she didn’t want Haohao to feel sad either.
"Cousin, I think you’re worrying too much. I understand Haohao. He can understand, and he will be a good big brother," Shen Qinglan asserted confidently. The way Haohao treated Anan spoke volumes. Why did Anan like Haohao so much? Wasn’t it because Haohao was good to Anan?
"If you don’t know how to bring it up with Haohao, I can talk to him," said Shen Qinglan. In some ways, her interaction with Haohao was more like friends; Haohao wouldn’t share many things with Pei Yinong but would tell them to Shen Qinglan.
Pei Yinong understood this and nodded, "Alright, it would be good for you to talk with him. I really feel the child has his own little secrets as he grows older. He talks more with Chenxi now than he does with me."
Shen Qinglan gave a mild smile, "That’s because you always treat him as a child. If you see him as your friend, you’ll find that communicating with Haohao is not difficult at all."
Thinking it over seriously, Pei Yinong supposed that might be true and gave a wry smile, "Let’s not talk about me. What about you? Do you and Hengyi plan to have a second child?"
"We’re already trying," Shen Qinglan said with a smile in her eyes.
Pei Yinong was surprised and pleased, "Really? That’s wonderful. It’d be best to have a daughter this time and have a ’good’ word, completing the set with both a son and a daughter."
That was also Shen Qinglan’s hope.
That evening, Haohao didn’t want to go home and asked to stay at Shen Qinglan’s. Pei Yinong readily agreed, "Qinglan, then I’ll trouble you to look after Haohao for these few days."
"Cousin, don’t worry about it."
The happiest about Haohao staying was Anan. She was so excited that she even ditched Shen Qinglan, dragging Haohao off to take a bath.
"Anan, are you sure you don’t need your mom to help?" Shen Qinglan was somewhat worried; Anan had never bathed by herself before.
"Mom, you don’t need to help. I have big brother," Anan called out to the door.
"Haohao, can you guys manage?"
"We’ll be fine, Auntie," Haohao, who had started bathing by himself for some time now, didn’t see this as a problem at all.
Shen Qinglan didn’t leave but waited in Anan’s room for the two to come out, ready to help immediately if there were any problems. However, all she heard was the sound of the siblings playfully squabbling. Shen Qinglan didn’t interrupt them, just picked up a book instead. It was a middle school math book Haohao brought, and from the notes on it, one could tell he had already grasped the concepts.
Haohao didn’t like younger children, but he was extremely good to Anan. When he was with Anan, he acted like a very caring big brother. Shen Qinglan had waited for almost an hour, and it was only after the two little ones had had their fill of playtime that they leisurely emerged from the bathroom. The first to come out was Anan.
"Eh, Mommy, why are you still here?" Anan was a bit puzzled when he saw Shen Qinglan.
"Are you done washing?" Shen Qinglan responded with a question instead of answering.
Anan nodded, "Mommy, brother and I have washed up, but there’s a lot of water on the floor. Brother is cleaning it up."
Shen Qinglan had expected this and stood up to walk into the bathroom, only to see Haohao wiping the floor with a towel.
"Haohao, let me do that."
"Auntie, I can do it." He had made the mess, and of course, he should clean it up himself. Shen Qinglan stepped forward and took the towel from his hand, "Auntie will do it. Your hair is still wet. Go and dry your hair first so you don’t catch a cold."
"Okay, thank you, Auntie."
Shen Qinglan smiled gently, swiftly tidied up the bathroom, and when she left, Haohao was drying Anan’s hair. Shen Qinglan approached and took the hair dryer, "Let me do it, who’s first?"
"Let little brother go first. Can’t let the little brother catch a cold," Haohao spoke first.
Anan’s hair was actually almost dry, so Shen Qinglan gave it a few more casual blasts, and it was dry, "Haohao, come here."
Haohao sat down in front of Shen Qinglan. Her fingertips ran through Haohao’s short hair, which was very soft, unlike Anan’s. Anan’s hair texture was more like Fu Hengyi’s, rather coarse.
"All right, you both should go to sleep quickly. Tomorrow morning, I will take you both to go mountain climbing."
"Yay, we can go out to play!" Anan was very happy, "Mommy, you should go to sleep too, brother and I are going to bed."
Shen Qinglan watched her son with a smile and saw that the two had already lain down in bed. She then turned and left.
The next morning, as soon as Shen Qinglan returned from her morning run, she saw the two little ones already dressed and sitting at the dining table eating breakfast.
"Mommy, hurry up," urged Anan.
"No rush. Mommy will go change clothes first. You guys keep eating."
After changing, Shen Qinglan came down and quickly ate a couple of bites, "Let’s go."
The mountain was a place she often visited for field sketching, located in Western City. Since it was a holiday, there were quite a few people out climbing, some of whom, like her, had brought their children along.
"Er Pang, hurry up or you won’t be able to catch up with your brother," Anan urged their family’s chubby Siberian Husky. Er Pang was panting heavily at Shen Qinglan’s side, the dog too fat and not fond of exercise, lacking stamina.
Initially, Shen Qinglan didn’t want to bring the pet dog along, but before leaving the house, Er Pang bit Anan’s pant leg and wouldn’t let go. Seeing this, Shen Qinglan decided to bring him along too.
"Brother, wait for me," Anan called to Haohao, who was ahead. His short legs couldn’t climb quickly, and in a moment of carelessness, he plopped right down on his bottom. He stared blankly at Haohao, his little face full of grievance.
Seeing this, Haohao turned around and came back to pull Anan up, dusting off the dirt from his clothes, "I’ll hold your hand as we walk."
Anan’s face immediately lit up with a smile, "Thank you, brother."
Shen Qinglan followed behind, strolling leisurely with a DSLR in her hand, occasionally snapping a couple of photos, most of which were of the two children.
"Hey, do you also like hiking?" A man in sportswear approached to strike up a conversation. He had been watching this girl for over ten minutes, and seeing her slowly walking along, he couldn’t help but become curious.
Shen Qinglan nodded. Her fondness for hiking was moderate, not particularly strong, but she didn’t dislike it either.
The man then looked at the camera in her hand, "You’re also a photography enthusiast." The DSLR Shen Qinglan held wasn’t cheap, especially the lens. The lens alone was worth tens of thousands, well-equipped and very professional.
Shen Qinglan hadn’t been fond of photography before, but ever since giving birth to Anan, she began studying photography techniques. Many of Anan’s photos were taken by her, and over the years, Shen Qinglan’s photography skills had reached a professional level.
"Mhm," Shen Qinglan replied, expression indifferent.
"What a coincidence, I’m also a hiking and photography enthusiast. It’s unexpected that we share the same interests. Are you hiking alone? Would you like to join me?"
"No..." Shen Qinglan had barely spoken a word when Anan, who had already climbed halfway up the mountain, called out to her, "Mommy, you and Er Pang need to hurry, my brother and I are almost at the top."
Shen Qinglan smiled indulgently, "Alright, I’ll be right there."
The man watched her in surprise, "You’re already married?"
Shen Qinglan’s expression remained indifferent as she nodded.
The man felt a bit awkward, "I never would have guessed you’re so young and already the mother of two children. You certainly don’t look it." Shen Qinglan didn’t appear to be twenty-seven, at most twenty-two or twenty-three. Hence, even though the man had noticed Shen Qinglan photographing the children, he hadn’t connected the children with her, assuming they were just encountered along the way.
"Sorry, my son is calling for me. I need to go," Shen Qinglan said, picking up her pace, and she quickly caught up with them.
The man watched Shen Qinglan’s retreating figure with regret, having thought he’d stumbled upon serendipity, only to find that she was already taken.
The mountain wasn’t that high, and they soon reached the summit. Shen Qinglan wiped the children’s sweat while Er Pang sat on the ground, huffing and puffing.
"Er Pang, you need to lose weight, look at me, I’m not even out of breath," Anan squatted next to Er Pang, lecturing it. Er Pang responded to Anan with huffs.
"Haohao, have some water first," Shen Qinglan handed a water bottle to Haohao.
"Thank you, Auntie. Auntie, it’s really beautiful here," Haohao said, admiring the distant scenery, "It feels so comfortable."
"If you like it, then we can ask your mom to bring you here more often."
"Forget it, with my mom’s stamina, she definitely wouldn’t make it to the top. Next time, I’ll ask Daddy to bring me," Haohao said. The Daddy he referred to was Jiang Chenxi, who had become his father after Pei Yinong married him.
Shen Qinglan glanced at her son, who was still talking to Er Pang, and then turned to Haohao, "Haohao, have you ever considered having your mom give you another little brother or sister?"
Haohao smiled, "Auntie, did my mom ask you to say that?"
Shen Qinglan raised an eyebrow, "Can’t it just be something Auntie wants to know?"
"Auntie, don’t fool me. It must be my mom who asked you to ask," Haohao wore an expression like he had everything figured out.
Shen Qinglan laughed, "Alright, indeed, your mom asked me to ask. But Auntie also wants to know. Can you tell me what you think?"
"Auntie, to be honest, at first, I wasn’t willing. There’s a kid in my class like me, whose dad isn’t his biological father. After his mom and dad got married, they had another child. That dad was very mean to him, often scolding him, and even physically punishing him, and his mom wouldn’t help him."
"So, are you worried that if your mom and dad have other children, they won’t treat you well?" Qinglan asked gently.
Haohao nodded. "Yes, but later I figured it out. Chenxi’s daddy is so nice to me, even if there were other kids, he wouldn’t be like that classmate’s dad."
Everyone saw how Jiang Chenxi treated Haohao, and although his affection might show some bias when he has a child of his own, they believed the difference wouldn’t be too great.
"Have you talked about this with your mom or your Chenxi dad?"
Haohao shook his head and playfully blinked his eyes. "Auntie, my mom always treats me like a little kid, thinking I don’t understand anything and that I’m just being childish. But that’s not the case at all. I’m very clear on this inside. I’m just waiting for her to ask me."
Qinglan laughed lightly and reached out to stroke his head. "You, you have no idea how much your mom worries about you. If you get the chance, remember to tell her your thoughts, or she’ll worry a lot about you."
Haohao nodded. "Auntie, to be honest, I do want a little brother or sister. The only condition is that my mom still wants me."
"What a silly kid you are. You’re the one your mom brought into the world with great effort and raised by herself. How could she bear to ignore you?"
Haohao leaned against Qinglan, squinting his eyes. "Yeah, I know, and I love my mom a lot." As he grew older, Haohao understood more clearly the hardship his mother had gone through to give birth to him.
"Auntie, when we get back this time, I’ll talk to my mom."
Qinglan lovingly stroked Haohao, feeling compassion for the child’s precocity and understanding. "Your mom is very lucky to have a son who cherishes her so much."
"Auntie’s lucky too, having a brother who’s such a cute son."
"Yeah, you are all little angels." Qinglan smiled softly as she turned her head to glance at her son, who was still teaching the dog, her eyes filled with a smile.
**
MD, the slums.
A figure dashed swiftly through the night, with occasional bursts of gunfire behind him. Bullets hit the ground near his feet, but he dodged quickly, then turned to spray bullets back at his pursuers, resulting in several screams in the dark night.
As the gunfire ceased, he turned on his heel and ran. "Chase him, we can’t let him get away."
The gunshots behind him grew more intense. Just as he was about to fire again, he realized his handgun was out of bullets. Tossing it aside, he increased his speed, zigzagging to make the bullets hit the ground or walls instead. He slipped away like an elusive eel under the cover of the night.
"Eden, stop or I’m going to shoot!" someone shouted at the fleeing figure.
A look of disdain flitted across Eden’s eyes. So now you’re threatening to shoot? If I were stupid, I’d stop running. He cursed inwardly, these damned pests had been chasing him for a whole day and a night and still weren’t finished.
"Bang." A gunshot rang out, and Eden grunted as his arm was hit the moment he got distracted.
Luckily it was just his arm. If it had been his leg, he might have ended up in the hands of these people. But for now, the priority was to shake them off. Otherwise, he would eventually be caught due to exhaustion.
In fact, he was already in grave danger. Unfamiliar with the surroundings, he wouldn’t have been so closely pursued if he knew the area better.
Rounding a small alley corner, a door suddenly flew open. He was yanked inside before he could react, his mouth covered, "It’s me, Su Qing."
Eden immediately shut up, lowering the leg he had raised. He slowed his breathing and sharpened his focus to monitor the noises outside. Soon, a cacophony of footsteps approached and then the outside fell silent.
Su Qing and Eden stood still, not even their breathing rate changed. Before long, the footsteps returned.
"No one’s here, where did the person go?"
"Definitely still nearby, he’s wounded, he can’t have gone far."
"His leg isn’t injured, I told you to aim for the leg, you hit his arm instead, you idiot."
"Let’s hurry and search, if we can’t find him, we’ll all be waiting to be punished by the boss."
The voices kept reaching Su Qing and Eden’s ears. Su Qing glanced at Eden’s arm, and Eden gently shook his head.
Soon, quiet descended outside the door again. Su Qing and Eden waited another ten minutes to make sure those people wouldn’t come back before Su Qing removed her hand from Eden’s mouth.
"Why are you here?" Eden asked, finding it totally unexpected to run into Su Qing while being pursued.
"I was just passing by," said Su Qing nonchalantly. "What about you, how come you’re being chased this time?"
Eden didn’t believe her story, but since she wasn’t willing to share more, he didn’t press the issue. "I offended a big shot in the underworld, I didn’t want to save his brother, his brother died, and now he wants my life."
Well, that certainly was a good reason.
"We can’t stay here for long, we need to leave quickly," Su Qing stated.
Eden nodded. Su Qing opened the door, checked the surroundings to see that the group had truly left, then said to Eden, "Let’s go."
As Eden followed Su Qing, he noticed she was extremely familiar with the area, which raised his eyebrows slightly.
Su Qing led Eden through twists and turns until they arrived in front of a civilian house, pushing the door open without hesitation. "This is my temporary hideout, we can stay here for now."
The house wasn’t great, even a bit shabby, but it was clean. Eden casually scanned the place and then looked away.
Su Qing pulled out a medical kit, "Do you need any help?"
Already from the medical box, Eden had taken out gauze, tweezers, and the like, "No need, I can manage myself." The bullet wasn’t deep and hadn’t hit the bone, he could handle it on his own.
"Do you have any clean cloth?" he asked Su Qing, who nodded and handed him a towel. Eden stuffed it into his mouth before starting to treat the wound. From removing the bullet to bandaging the wound, it only took a few minutes. Watching his skilled and efficient movements, Su Qing raised an eyebrow, "Do you often treat your own wounds?"
Eden paused in his task, "Not really, but after doing the same motions again and again, there’s no difference between doing it on myself and on someone else. Thanks for this time, you saved my life."
"No thanks needed, even without me, you could’ve escaped," Su Qing said dismissively.
"Aren’t you going to tell me why you appeared there?" Eden was very curious, or rather, he was curious about Su Qing as a person. She seemed to roam all over the world, whether on a mission or avoiding someone, but certainly not traveling for leisure, because no traveler would ever stay in such a place.
Usually, those who stayed here needed to hide or were on a mission.
Su Qing looked at him with a smile that wasn’t quite a smile, "Curiosity killed the cat, better for you not to know." She had been hungry today, went out to buy some food, and ended up witnessing that chase. She had intended to watch the tigers fight, but then she discovered the one being chased was Eden, a friend of Shen Qinglan; she couldn’t just stand by, so she stepped in to help.
"You’re now my savior, and this is me being concerned about you," said Eden, as if wearing a halo of virtue.
Su Qing looked at the sweat on his forehead and his slightly pale face. She reached out to gently press on his wound, and Eden hissed in pain. Su Qing quickly withdrew her hand, "You’d better worry about yourself instead of wasting time, I’m not the one who’s injured." With that, she took the medical kit and strolled away, "I’m going to sleep now, you can make do in the living room for the night."
Eden didn’t mind this arrangement. He lay casually on the couch, seemingly asleep but actually planning his next moves. He couldn’t stay here; although he could end the pursuit by getting in touch with Ryan, he couldn’t always turn to Ryan whenever there was trouble; Ryan had already helped him a lot. Now he had temporarily shaken off the pursuers, leaving MD would not be difficult for him, but to be put into this situation just for not wanting to help someone annoyed Eden deeply.
Thinking about how to repay the grand favor, Eden soon fell asleep, after all, he’d been chased day and night continuously, and his body was already worn out. Perhaps it was because he was now familiar with Su Qing and knew she wouldn’t harm him, which is why Eden slept so soundly; he didn’t even notice when Su Qing got up.
Su Qing looked at the person on the sofa and couldn’t help but laugh, "Sleeping so soundly, are you too unguarded, or do you trust me too much?" She went to the kitchen to pour a glass of water, and only then returned to her room. With an extra person in the house, she felt somewhat unaccustomed.
The next morning, when Su Qing got up, Eden was already awake and was changing his own bandages. Su Qing leaned against the bedroom door frame, "Are your wounds okay?"
"Just a scratch, they’ll be fine in a few days," Eden was nonchalant, "Got anything to eat? I’m quite hungry."
Su Qing shrugged, "Only bread and milk. Want some?"
"Will do," Eden said. He wasn’t very particular about food; as long as it filled the stomach, it was fine.
Su Qing brought the bread and milk, and the two sat down to eat. Eden quickly devoured the food and looked at Su Qing, "I’m leaving today. Do you want to come with me?"
"Why would I go with you?" Su Qing was puzzled.
"If I’m not wrong, you’re probably hiding from someone, right? I’m planning to head to the primitive jungle next. It should be a good place to hide your tracks. Are you sure you don’t want to come along?"
Su Qing gave a chuckling sneer, "Are you sure you’re not just looking for a free bodyguard?"
"Well, if you put it that way, you’re not wrong," Eden smiled broadly.
Su Qing’s eyes flickered slightly, "Fine, I’ll tag along. It’s gotten rather boring staying here anyway." She had been living there for quite some time, and even if Eden hadn’t mentioned it, she was planning to leave anyway, since that organization’s people had never stopped pursuing her.
After eating, Su Qing packed a few essential belongings and left with Eden, "What brought you here this time? Who did you manage to get on the wrong side of?" Su Qing asked Eden as they were leaving.
Eden sighed, "Just bad luck, ran into an ungrateful jerk." He had come here because of an old debt of gratitude and found himself entangled with an injured mob boss, who was Ryan’s enemy and requested his medical assistance. Eden refused, which led to the chase.
The gang members weren’t supposed to know what he looked like, but the ungrateful person who owed him a favor had seen him before and had given the gang a sketch of him.
"So, one shouldn’t just randomly save people," Su Qing teased him.
"And yet you saved me this time?"
"Who made you a friend of Qinglan’s? I’d actually wanted to sit back and watch, but if you had died, Qinglan would have been sad, so I had no choice but to step in," Su Qing said rather helplessly, as if saving Eden was truly out of compulsion.
Eden obviously didn’t believe her words, "Being saved by you because I’m friends with Qinglan is my honor. By the way, you haven’t seen Qinglan in a while, have you?"
"Yeah, there’s no need for us to meet. I know she’s doing well, and that’s enough for me," Su Qing said casually. Shen Qinglan was now living a happy life, and Su Qing’s appearance would only bring her trouble, so why bother showing up?
"She’s always been worried about you," Eden said.
"Then don’t tell her about me. If you really want to say something, just tell her you ran into me while I was on vacation."
Eden was briefly startled, "I’m actually very curious about something. Are you really Qin Mu?"
Su Qing’s pace didn’t change, "Why does everyone think I’m her? Is that important?"
Eden chuckled, "Not really important, I’m just curious about Qinglan’s attitude towards you. If you really are Qin Mu, then everything makes sense. In Qinglan’s heart, Qin Mu is the most important person, probably only second to her children and husband."
"You’ve got time to think about this, you might as well think about how we can conceal our tracks and leave," Su Qing changed the subject. The name Qin Mu had already vanished from this world, so there was no need to bring it up again. The person who lives now is Su Qing.
"Isn’t that your job?"
Su Qing scoffed, "You really do take me for a bodyguard, don’t you?"
"We’re called partners," Eden smiled warmly.
However, the day after they left, some unwelcome visitors came to Su Qing’s former residence. The man looked around the empty house with a grim expression, "Keep searching, bring her back once you find her."
"Boss, can we hurt her?"
"Just keep her alive."
"Yes, sir."
The man smirked, "Su Qing, you’re quite the runner. It really makes me want to break your legs."
Unbeknownst to Su Qing, she was now adventuring in the jungle with Eden.

The vacation ended, Haohao returned to his own home, and Anan went back to school. After Shen Qinglan dropped Anan off at kindergarten, she drove to the hospital, not expecting to run into Han Yi and Yu Xiaoxuan at the entrance.
Yu Xiaoxuan marched ahead, fuming, with Han Yi following behind, trying to ingratiate himself with a smile, "Xiao Xuan, slow down, don’t walk so fast."
Yu Xiaoxuan rolled her eyes, "Han Yi, I don’t want to see you right now. You’d better disappear from my sight." She turned her head and spotted Shen Qinglan, immediately running over to her, "Qinglan, what are you doing here?"
Shen Qinglan raised an eyebrow slightly, "I’m here for a physical examination."
"Do you feel unwell?" asked Yu Xiaoxuan.
"No, just a routine check-up," Shen Qinglan looked at Han Yi, "What’s going on with you two?"
Mentioning this, Yu Xiaoxuan’s face darkened, "Qinglan, I’ll tell you about this another day, I’m going home now." Saying so, she didn’t even glance at Han Yi and turned to leave. Han Yi only managed to give Shen Qinglan a smile before following after her.
"Xiao Xuan, slow down, it’s my fault, all my fault. Please wait for me." Han Yi shouted after Yu Xiaoxuan, but she quickened her pace instead.
Shen Qinglan shook her head with a smile. This pair of bickering lovers always caused a stir once in a while; she had become used to it and didn’t mind as she entered the obstetrics and gynecology building.
Having received the examination report, the corners of Shen Qinglan’s mouth curled into a smile. She took out her phone and called Fu Hengyi.
"Qinglan?" Fu Hengyi’s deep and magnetic voice came from the other end of the line.
"Are you busy?"
Fu Hengyi glanced at the military officers standing in front of him, "No, I’m not busy."
"Fu Hengyi, I have something to tell you," Shen Qinglan paused, then said word by word, "I’m pregnant."
