Chapter 83: Chapter 83: Nathalie’s Second Alias_1

Ghania Quinlan, however, took her arm, smiled intimately as if she didn’t mind, lowered her gaze, and said softly, "Jane, don’t say that. I’m happy for her doing well on the test too. Let’s go, let’s go back."

Jane Bailey: "Aren’t you going to buy a pen anymore?"

Ghania Quinlan looked toward the students from Class A crowding around the stationery store, disdain flashing in her eyes, "No need to buy now, I’ll just borrow yours."

"Alright then."

In the classroom.

Nathalie Quinlan leaned back in her chair, her gaze cold as she took out her phone and opened a hidden software. The software was just a simple red square with the letter S written on it if you looked closely.

Almost everyone in the underworld knew this letter, S, Red Alliance. An alliance that integrated hackers, the trading of information, and minerals, among other things.

They were involved in nearly every kind of business, and also almost no business at all, proceeding only based on two factors: mood.

Operating in a moral gray zone, neither wholly good nor evil, the Red Alliance was known by virtually everyone.

Nathalie Quinlan’s pale fingers tapped open the software, and a chat box popped up.

She entered her account password.

A small prompt immediately popped up in the chat box: [The Sun is online.]

The group fell silent for three seconds and then exploded into activity.

[@playfuldiana: Fuck, am I seeing things? Boss is online?]

[@ilovebeingskinny: It’s raining red from the sky.]

[Emma Gabehart: Has our system been breached from the outside? Skinny, check it out.]

[@ilovebeingskinny: ...]

[@ilovebeingskinny: How many times do I have to tell you? My name is @ilovebeingskinny, not Skinny!]

[Emma Gabehart: Whatever, just check to see if your software crashed. Boss’s account might’ve been hacked.]

[@ilovebeingskinny: Fuck off!]

Nathalie Quinlan watched them bicker with interest, her eyes narrowing as her fingers flew over the keyboard.

[The Sun: It’s me.]

[@playfuldiana: Is it really the boss? The sun hasn’t risen from the west, how come you graced us with your presence?]

[The Sun: I need you to look something up for me.]

Nathalie Quinlan sent a picture to the chat.

[@ilovebeingskinny: Is this a rare material? It’s strictly controlled by all countries. Boss, what do you need this for?]

Nathalie Quinlan looked down.

Her fingers flew even faster.

[The Sun: I have my uses. Find out where you can get some in the country, spare no expense, and get me some as soon as possible.]

[@ilovebeingskinny: Alright, I’ll check. This thing isn’t easy to get, it’s not about the money, I’ll figure out where we can get it and then get back to you.]

[The Sun: OK.]

After Nathalie Quinlan finished replying to the messages, she didn’t continue watching their chat. She simply closed the software.

Something strange happened. As soon as she logged out of the chat software, the red square software disappeared from her phone screen as if it had never existed.

Just as she put her phone back into her single shoulder bag, Jhovany Sullivan and the others came back giggling with ice lollies in hand.

Nathalie Quinlan took a small candy pill from her chewing gum, popped it into her mouth, and slowly chewed.

She leaned back in her chair, eyes narrowed, her gaze filled with a rogue’s sharpness, and she thought absentmindedly about yesterday’s events.

Uncle Cagwin’s spine couldn’t wait any longer, she remembered. Yesterday, that kid on the 8th floor seemed to limp on his left foot as he walked. When she got that thing, she would check on him to see if he could use it. If he could, she would treat him together with Uncle Cagwin.

Almost at the same time.

Amadeus Yancey, carrying Edric Yancey and several packages of breakfast, returned to the hospital. They pushed open the door of the ward only to find that the bed had been neatly made, and the person who had been sleeping there and her belongings were gone.
