The Unveiling of Secret Queen-Chapter 86: Not Answering Ghania Quinlan’s Phone Call_1
At that moment, Amadeus Yancey saw what she was holding in her hand, his eyes narrowed slightly as he asked, "What is that?"
"You mean this?" Nathalie Quinlan shook the item in her hand, "An invitation, someone just came to me saying Mrs. Tucker is having a birthday and asked me to attend."
The Tucker Family? Amadeus Yancey went over these two words in his heart and was not too surprised.
The Tuckers were making a big deal of this event, and he had also received an invitation letter. They must have sent one to Nathalie Quinlan because Mrs. Tucker had met her at the Waterfront Pavilion last time.
Amadeus Yancey lightly tapped his chin and said, "If the Tuckers have sent you an invitation and you want to go, you can."
Nathalie Quinlan hadn’t thought about going, as she would definitely run into the Quinlan Family. But seeing as Mrs. Tucker knew her grandfather and they were old acquaintances, she was still undecided: "Let’s talk about it when it’s closer to the date."
After eating, Nathalie Quinlan went with Amadeus Yancey to send Lily back to the hospital, and then they visited Uncle Cagwin who was still in the intensive care unit.
Aunt Cagwin and Freddy Cagwin were there; Nathalie Quinlan talked with them for a bit before she left.
Upon returning to the villa, she went upstairs.
She opened her laptop to reply to @ilovebeingskinny’s message, telling them they could double the original bid she had offered to see what the other party would say.
Nathalie had just finished replying when she saw her phone ringing on the desk beside her.
It was a call from Ghania Quinlan.
What did Ghania want with her?
She frowned slightly and directly hung up the call.
Just then, the message box on her laptop started flashing; @ilovebeingskinny had replied to her message.
Before she had the chance to click on it, Ghania’s call came through again.
"Buzz..."
The phone stubbornly vibrated on the desk.
Damn it.
A wave of annoyance for no apparent reason surged in Nathalie’s heart; will this ever end?
Her gaze shifted from the laptop and settled back on the phone. She crossed her legs, picked up the phone, and hung up again. This time she waited a few seconds before putting the phone down, and sure enough, the third call from Ghania came through!
"Ha!"
The edge in her eyes nearly burst forth as her pale fingers straightforwardly ended the call once more.
She wanted to see just how many calls Ghania could make.
...
In a Chinese restaurant not far from No.1 Middle School, Gabriella Cagwin had booked a private room and invited Ghania Quinlan to eat alone.
Ghania Quinlan had also asked Jane Bailey to come.
The three people ordered a table full of dishes, which were mostly untouched as they all fixed their attention on Ghania making phone calls.
Ever since Gabriella Cagwin graded the test papers yesterday and found out that Grade A had thoroughly outperformed their class, she hadn’t slept well.
She even took a sick leave today and didn’t dare to go to school all day.
It wasn’t until dusk, when school let out, that she specifically called Ghania to invite her to eat at the restaurant outside the school.
It was dubbed a meal, but really, it was to seek Ghania’s help.
Ever since becoming the district’s outstanding class head, Gabriella’s teaching career had been smooth sailing; this was the first time she faced such humiliation.
It was bad enough to lose.
Nancy Sullivan had previously set a bet with her, stating that if she lost, she would have to apologize to Nathalie Quinlan, Freddy Cagwin, and others.
The thought of a woman in her thirties apologizing to a bunch of students seemed absurd.
Gabriella Cagwin felt humiliated after much tossing and turning and thus turned to Ghania Quinlan.
As long as Nathalie didn’t ’require’ her to apologize, surely Nancy Sullivan would not have much to say.
Watching Ghania agree to her request and then make several phone calls, each seemingly unanswered, Gabriella’s heart was in turmoil as she nervously asked, "Ghania, is Nathalie still not answering the phone?"
She couldn’t understand what was happening; she had heard that Nathalie and Ghania were sisters. Unfortunately, Ghania was not born to the Quinlan Family. After being discovered, she was kicked out of the Quinlan household. The reason she stayed in McKinney to study, shamelessly leeching off the Quinlan Family’s status, was to continue basking in their glory.
It made no sense for Nathalie not to answer Ghania’s calls.
