The Unveiling of Secret Queen-Chapter 96: A Man’s Mouth, A Liar’s Ghost_1
The car was very quiet, and when he spoke, Nathalie Quinlan couldn’t just ignore him.
She just didn’t know how to respond to him.
"No."
Not angry and yet avoiding him?
Amadeus Yancey curled his thin lips, leaned back on the leather seats, his slender body stretched out, and those long legs, wrapped in suit trousers, bent; the car’s spacious interior suddenly felt as if it couldn’t contain his length.
"Do you think I shouldn’t have carried you out like I did just now?"
His voice exuded extreme superiority, a perfectly low and magnetic tone, seemingly casual but imbued with a lazy sexiness.
His voice was incredibly penetrating; speaking always felt like a seductive whisper in one’s ear.
Suddenly, the atmosphere in the car turned ambiguous.
Nathalie Quinlan felt that same irritating heat in her chest, making her restless, her earlobes a bit warm, not understanding why he had suddenly brought it up.
"I just think that I can walk myself. It’s my arm that’s hurt, not my leg."
Amadeus Yancey lowered his eyelids, his gaze softened, and with a flick of his eyes, he said with nonchalance yet irrefutably, "But you are still injured."
Alfred Garland, in the front, was sweating bullets for Nathalie Quinlan.
Amadeus, your reasoning, even without making sense, somehow comes out sounding reasonable.
Nathalie Quinlan pursed her lips, her normally rosy lips paler due to blood loss; her brows furrowed tightly, her dark eyes both bright and agitated, she said gruffly, "Even if my hand is injured, it doesn’t affect my ability to walk! I can totally walk out on my own!"
The students at school had seen Amadeus Yancey’s looks and aura just a few times; with him making such a scene, she didn’t know what sort of rumors would spread when she went back to school.
She didn’t care about what others thought, nor did she mind what they said behind her back, but she hated trouble, and clearly, he was a big trouble right now!
He obviously wasn’t a Zachmann Family member; to her, he could only be considered a friend of a cousin from her parents’ side, but right now, Nathalie Quinlan felt as if Amadeus Yancey was invading her life everywhere.
This feeling... she couldn’t quite articulate it, but whenever she faced him, her own rhythm would be disrupted, always clumsy around him.
Nathalie Quinlan was lost in thought, not noticing that she had been cornered in the cramped space of the car.
When she came to her senses, she found that Amadeus Yancey had, at some point, moved closer. His long arms and legs trapped her in a corner, with one hand braced against the front driver’s seat, encircling a small world resembling confinement with his arm.
Two buttons of his white shirt were undone at the collar. When he sat up straight, his neck was only partially visible, as if playing hide and seek.
He now leaned forward, tilting his neck, and Nathalie Quinlan looked up to find his collarbone visible down from his neck, looking stunningly gorgeous, and almost dazzling!
Her breath involuntarily tightened, her heart starting to beat faster, the restlessness winding up inside her. Nathalie Quinlan instinctively gripped the seats on either side, her body leaning back to escape this strange pose. 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚
Amadeus Yancey observed her earlobes, tinted with a shade of red like White Jade, a corner of his mouth lifted, teasing her with a deep, intense voice and a gaze as profound as if hiding galaxies, "Don’t you call me brother? Eh?"
His breath was on her, Nathalie Quinlan held her breath, her agitation growing, her heartbeat nearly spiraling beyond her control.
Her earlobes felt hot, so did her cheeks.
She couldn’t put her finger on what was wrong; it just felt off.
Amadeus Yancey’s eyes were dark, as if hiding magnets that could draw one in; his words, however, were beguiling as a trickster’s, "Just call me Amadeus; seeing you injured, I acted in urgency wanting to take you to the hospital, it’s just the concern of an elder, no need to be so tense."
