The Villainess Married The Evil CEO-Chapter 163: Your Husband Is Here!
Owen sat back on his seat and looked at her in a daze.
So.... What he thought must be true. There was still something she hadn’t told him yet. Since it was her own life story as her mouth accidently slipped that day, and since she believed in supernatural occurrences, he could confirm a few things right now.
She was the same Abigail as the one being written in her novel.
She remembered her past life very well, and the reason she might be attracted to him was probably because his face looked similar to the doctor who treated her in the past life.
Third, the killer’s identity might be associated with this supernatural event. Otherwise, what was the reason for her to refuse to even tell the police? A supernatural event had to be involved at such a point.
Owen took a deep breath after thinking about it and leaned toward her, saying, "Abigail, listen to me very carefully. Stop writing that novel of yours for now."
"Why?" Abigail frowned and tilted her head.
"Just listen to me." Owen didn’t want her to hang onto her past life anymore, but he couldn’t just speak about it directly unless he wanted her to guard against him.
Before everything else, he was her doctor, and it was his duty to treat her.
Abigail nodded and finally pursed her lips, saying, "But, what about Asher....? What should I do...?"
It was all her fault. If she hadn’t urged for them to let her do this movie, he would have stayed alive. Why did she have to be so stubborn like this?
Abigail’s eyes teared up once again.
Owen was about to say something else when his cell phone rang. He pulled it out and looked at the screen.
It was Nicholas.
The man was finally here to take his wife away. But instead of relief, why did Owen feel a little bit reluctant to part with her?
Probably it was also an emotion that carried to him from his past life?
It was dangerous to stay with her. Now that Abigail had calmed down, she should return to her husband rightfully.
Thus, he stood up and said, "Abigail, your husband is here."
Abigail’s eyes went blank for a moment as more tears rolled down her cheeks. At the same time, the door of the room opened abruptly as a pale-faced Nicholas appeared in front of them. Abigail instantly jumped on her feet and dashed toward her, jumping into his arms. Then she sobbed.
Although she couldn’t speak a single word, Nicholas understood her very well, especially after glancing through vague memories. He knew that Asher was attached to Abigail and she had also come to like the man from her heart. In fact, she liked the two of them at the same time. He had realized until now as he drove all the way here.
So he could feel a trace of sympathy for her. Even though he didn’t know why the heck he had Asher’s memories, he was glad that the man steered clear of her finally, and he could have Abigail all to himself.
Although he knew it wasn’t right to think like this right now, he couldn’t help it. He didn’t feel that much sympathy for Asher, but he did pity his wife.
He hugged her and nodded at the doctor who had contacted him.
It turns out, he worked in his own medical branch. Then he dragged her out of there without stopping. As for the police, he would deal with them when the time comes.
Abigail sniffed the entire way, but she had mostly calmed down by now thanks to Owen.
Although she was still sad, she wasn’t that depressed to the point that she would jump into the river out of utter depression. She had handled her emotions thanks to her psychiatrist.
As Owen watched the two of them leave hand in hand, his heart felt like it was pierced by arrows. He took a deep breath as he held himself back. He almost wanted to go and hug her instead of Nicholas, but he wasn’t as crazy as Asher who would go after her despite knowing that she was married.
If, in case if, she were to go single in the future... he could give her a try....
Owen shook his head. Better not to have any hopes beforehand. By this time, police had also arrived as he walked toward the murder scene. There was a grim expression on his face as he looked through the crowd, specifically trying to locate that murderer....
His glance finally landed on Rebecca as he narrowed his eyes. An ordinary person won’t be able to tell the difference. She did look pale upon seeing a dead body in front of her and she did tremble a little like everyone else.
But being a psychiatrist, he instantly realized that these weren’t her real emotions. She was merely acting.
Owen’s eyes stuck to her only for a second before he averted his eyes. He had already determined the killer in his heart, but even that conclusion didn’t change his expression. He walked inside with a grim expression on his face as he nodded at the police.
"You were the one who called us?" asked the head of the police wearing his typical blue uniform.
"Yes." Owen pointed at the dead body and said, "He was our investor."
"Do you have any idea who did this?"
Owen shook his head and had a worried expression on his face, saying, "Inspector, please, see to it that the killer is found. His girlfriend is my patient, and she was the most affected. Her assistant took her back."
The police nodded and asked, "Kindly give her address. We need to take her statement."
Owen pursed his lips and gave them Nicholas’s number. Then he said, "Uh, she’s a bipolar patient. So please, take it easy."
The officers nodded in understanding as they started talking to one another. At the same time, Owen also busied himself in dealing with the police for the time being. When they finally went away after tapting the area and restricting anyone from entering, it was already late night.
Owen rubbed the bridge of his nose as he felt exhausted from the depths of his heart. He was about to go back and rest when he saw Rebecca walk toward him as let out a smile. Of course, she did try to put on a mild, forced smile, but he could see that even this was her acting and not reality.
Even then, he said nothing and nodded at her.
"Well, do you know Olivia?"
He knew it. She would come asking about her. But he was already prepared for the answer. "Uh, yes, but I’m merely her doctor, and I’m very professional. So please, refrain from asking any questions about her."
Rebecca frowned as she stared at the man for a while before letting out a smile. This time, her smile looked a bit genuine. "Of course. Let’s meet again when we cross paths."
