The Villainess VTuber Rips People Apart-Chapter 84: Scared? Scratched?
Inagika couldn’t sing well.
“If... if I were to become a constellation with you...!” “On a starry night, a fleeting wish~♬”
Karaoke Rookie Traits:
Watches others sing for a while before finally, and reluctantly, reserving a song, lacking the confidence to sing better than everyone else. The moment they start singing, a karaoke enthusiast jumps in and turns it into an unwanted duet. The karaoke enthusiast sings better. They struggle with high notes, so their voice ends up being drowned out by the other person’s.
Inagika managed to reserve a song with great difficulty, but Anna ended up completely overshadowing him, singing with much more passion. Anna had no ill intent whatsoever and couldn’t comprehend the emotions Inagika was feeling.
Rinko, seeing this scene for the first time, said, “I’m sorry, Rinko-senpai. I know you must be busy, but thank you for coming.” “It’s not like I was busy or anything. Don’t worry about it.”
Rinko sat on the bed. Though the karaoke stream was ongoing, this was Rion’s room, and with nowhere else to sit, she had perched herself on Rion’s bed, wondering if it was really alright. Rion was likely watching the stream from Japan, so she couldn’t help but think about what Rion might be feeling.
“One, two, three, four... Where’s Chel?” “Chel went to sleep. She said she needs rest if she’s going to stream all night later.” “You all really go hard on these streams, huh.”
Laura was going to keep singing until she completed her rank climb. It was a crazy idea, no matter how you looked at it. Rinko decided to reach out to Ichika and the others later. Maybe a few of them could pop in for a couple of songs, which would ease the burden considerably.
“This won’t last much longer anyway. Laura’s in the final stretch of her promotion matches.”
Sora slyly showed her phone to Rinko. Laura’s promotion match was playing on Sora’s phone, sped up five times to accommodate the difference in time flow between the game and real life.
“There are so many familiar faces.”
Shina, Vincent, and Narim, it seems.
“Looks like she’ll make it without too much trouble. She’s on the same team as Narim.” “Is she good?” “Narim is good, sure. But she’s... different from me.”
Rinko shrugged casually.
【An Allied Phantom has taken down an Enemy Assassin.】 【The Enemy Beast Tamer has taken down an Allied Saintess.】 【The Enemy Mage has taken down an Allied Heavy Armor Warrior.】 【The Enemy Mage has taken down an Allied Martial Artist.】 【The Enemy Dual Swordsman has taken down an Allied Archer.】 【The Allied Dragon Knight has taken down an Enemy Pathfinder.】
Another kill log appeared. Let’s review the situation.
Six kill logs in total. Out of those, one was me killing Masina. Except for the last one, the remaining four were all Allied deaths.
“It looks like our main force lost to theirs.”
The conclusion was simple, but the situation was anything but. It was a mess, to put it mildly.
While I was contemplating the situation, something flew towards me from a distance.
‘A mini dragon, huh.’
Flapping its wings, a small dragon wielding a sword with its tail flew toward me.
It reminded me that the allied main force consisted of five members, yet there were only four allied deaths in the kill log. That meant that the Dragon Knight—Son Narim—had survived.
‘Is this a signal to follow?’
The mini dragon circled around me. The Dragon Knight’s first skill, <Resonance>, allows them to control a mini dragon.
Though “control” might be putting it nicely, as the mini dragon’s combat abilities were subpar. It could only fire a fireball once, and it was really more of a scouting skill.
I followed the mini dragon to a cave a little way off from the starting point of the game.
There was a nearly extinguished campfire in front of it.
“Welcome!”
Son Narim greeted me with a lively expression.
“I’m sorry! You did so well as the solo player, but it’s my fault for messing up!”
Narim apologized in a humble tone. For a senior VTuber, her overly deferential attitude seemed almost out of place.
“Isn’t ‘messed up’ a bit strong? You managed to take one of them down, didn’t you?” “No, it’s my fault. I should have seen this coming...”
Narim let out a self-deprecating sigh.
“Do you know Vincent? His full name is Vincent Edward.”
I’d heard the name before. He was one of the male VTubers who competed in last year’s streamer league. We weren’t close, but I’d seen him around.
“Vincent’s good at calling the shots. He pulled off a rush in the early game that caught us off guard.”
According to Narim, the enemy team was an unusual composition: Cavalry, Beast Tamer, Dual Swordsman, Mage, Pathfinder, and Thief. No healer like a Saintess or Combat Priest, and no ranged damage dealers like a Gunner or Magi-Engineer, making their sustain power quite poor.
But this was a ranked match, and unusual compositions like this were common. At the pick-ban stage, Narim had assumed they were just going for flashy picks without much thought. She hadn’t anticipated an early rush strategy.
The Cavalry disrupted the Allied main force with overwhelming mobility. The Mage and Beast Tamer, riding a giant wolf, fired off spells wildly. The Pathfinder’s ultimate, <Drill!>, allowed them to dig tunnels and stage a rear assault on our team’s backline alongside the Dual Swordsman.
“In a straightforward team fight, we might have won. But in this chaotic skirmish, they had the upper hand and crushed us.”

Narim looked at me with a bright smile. Despite her dislike of the word “give up,” she was ready to face our grim situation with a plan to contest the boss or escape, depending on the circumstances.
“Laura, shall we?”
“Laura-sama or -san will do, thank you.” “No thanks! By the way, why are you carrying Shina?”
I had Shina’s body slung over my back, with her nickname displayed above her head, which Narim recognized.
“I was considering decapitating her.”
“......What?”
“It’d be a surprise if their ally’s head suddenly flew into their camp. It might give us a chance to strike.”
What an insane idea.
“Let’s do it!”
Narim wasn’t exactly normal either.
Son Narim was someone who refused to give up. As long as she could avoid surrender, she’d go to any length.
“Shall I gouge out her eyes too? That’ll scare them even more!” “You’re not exactly sane yourself.” “Coming from you, that doesn’t mean much!”
With a bit of sanity left, the two managed not to follow through with gouging out her eyes.
