Chapter 89: Chapter 89: Kill Him! So We Can Live

Caden Albright was frantically tending to the firewood.

Suddenly, he froze. He whipped his head toward the cave entrance, his beautiful, bewitching eyes glinting with a cold light. His voice was like splintered ice. "Who’s there?!"

The next instant, the torch in Caden Albright’s hand shot out like an arrow loosed from a bow, tearing through the curtain of rain.

The burning torch collided with the torrential downpour, letting out a harsh HISS. Billowing smoke and dust rose up, and before the gray fumes could disperse, a dark figure emerged from the rain.

The bone knife in his hand glinted coldly, and his lips twisted into a savage arc. "Just as I thought. You’re here."

Caden Albright’s amber eyes narrowed into thin vertical slits, locking onto the newcomer like a Ferocious Beast that had spotted its prey. He was a completely different person from his usual elegant, leisurely self.

His thin lips parted. His bewitchingly beautiful face was now filled with malice. "Get out!"

That single word, wrapped in monstrous fury, slammed into the intruder, seeming to make the very downpour tremble.

Evangeline was in labor, which already had him on edge, tormented to the point of near-madness. And now, some fool who didn’t know what’s good for him had to come knocking.

"Heh heh..." The newcomer suddenly let out a cold, strange laugh.

He exuded a mixed stench of rotting flesh and swamp water—the unique foul odor of the Monitor Clan.

From his appearance, he was clearly the number one Warrior of the Monitor Tribe, Mundo.

"Who the hell do you think you are? Telling me to get out?"

Mundo grinned, his bone knife slicing a cold arc through the rain.

Just then, his nostrils twitched, and a savage smile spread across his face. "The one inside the cave... that’s the Witch who caused our Monitor Tribe to suffer such heavy losses last time, isn’t it? This scent of blood... is she giving birth?"

"What luck, running into her this time. I was originally thinking of flaying that Witch alive, but now... I’ve changed my mind. How about I just cut open her belly and... dig that little half-breed bastard out?"

Mundo’s face was a mask of savagery as he slowly approached the cave.

At that moment, a bolt of lightning flashed, illuminating the Seven-star Pattern on his forehead.

For a small tribe like Norfell to have two Seven-star Patterned Beastmen appear one after another!

The words "half-breed bastard" instantly touched Caden Albright’s last nerve. Blood-red light exploded in his eyes.

His form blurred as he transformed into a massive white fox. With a silver mane like snow and bared fangs, its crimson Beast Eyes locked onto Mundo’s throat as it lunged for the kill without hesitation!

As he moved, the dark gold embroidered headband he wore stirred without any wind and suddenly drifted to the ground.

Rainwater slid down the white fox’s silhouette, making the dark, gloomy Eight-star pattern on its forehead flicker in and out of view, like some ancient and evil brand.

The arrogant look on Mundo’s face froze solid. His pupils shrank to the size of pinpricks. He stared at the approaching white fox, stumbled backward, and his voice shot up into a shriek. "A Fallen Beastman—"

His voice was filled with incredulous horror.

The Grymdale Tribe was actually hiding an Eight-Star Pattern Fallen Beastman!

The pitch-black Fallen Star Pattern on Caden Albright’s forehead began to emit a thick black fog, making even the torrential rain tremble.

Mundo hastily transformed into his beast form, but the white fox’s claws were already tearing through the rain to strike him down.

His rock-like Scale Armor took a heavy blow. The claws dug deep into his flesh and bone, erupting in a spray of bloody mist. It felt as if his body was being torn apart in an instant, and that was without his opponent even using Star Pattern Power.

While the battle raged outside, the scent of blood inside the cave grew ever stronger.

Evangeline lay on the stone bed, her wet hair stuck to her pale face. Contractions washed over her like a tide, and the bedding beneath her was soaked with cold sweat and blood.

Her knuckles were white from gripping, but she never let out a single moan or cry of pain.

Evangeline breathed evenly, occasionally popping a Spiritual Medicine into her mouth. She paid no mind to the commotion outside. The contractions came one after another, but thankfully, cubs on the Beastman Continent weren’t too large.

Outside the cave, the sounds of battle shook the heavens. Suddenly, the cry of a fox tore through the rain.

The cub in Evangeline’s womb gave a hard kick. A sharp pain shot through her, and her brow furrowed tightly. She clenched her jaw, swallowing the grunt of pain, and focused all her attention on the restless life stirring within her.

She took a deep breath and said, trying to find some humor in the situation, "You... you really feel for your father, don’t you."

With the Monitor Tribe causing trouble, she had to give birth to the cub as quickly as possible. 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ𝓋𝑒𝑙.𝑐𝘰𝑚

Even though Evangeline made no sound, the pervasive scent of blood in the air and her short, suppressed gasps still caused Caden Albright’s sanity to crack, piece by piece, making him more and more agitated.

His eyes were crimson, and the black fog churning around him seemed alive as it spread madly!

Mundo was forced back step by step by Caden Albright’s violent pressure. His body was already covered in wounds, blood dripped with the rain, and several of his bones had been broken.

He wasn’t a fool; he knew he was no match for this Fallen Beastman.

He fought as he retreated, gritting his teeth and holding on, parrying attacks pathetically.

Fortunately, the Fallen Beastman didn’t pursue him. Once he was far from the cave, the beastman slowly backed away.

Mundo dragged his broken body and stumbled into the heart of the raging tribal battle. His blood-stained claws carved furrows in the ground as his hoarse roar suddenly tore through the bloody fray:

"Stop fighting—"

"There’s a Fallen Beastman hiding here! A Fallen Beastman has appeared in Norfell!"

His voice, wrapped in terror and madness, made the fighting Monitor Lizards and giant pythons freeze for a moment.

Covered in blood, Mundo pointed a trembling finger toward the cave where the black fog billowed. "All of our tribes, we should unite and kill the Fallen Beastman! Only by killing him can we survive!"

In the midst of the battle, the expressions of both Thorne and Elias Moretti changed drastically.

Thorne’s pupils contracted into thin lines, and the scales all over his body flared. Paying no attention to the Monitor Clan members he was still fighting, he turned and shot toward the cave like a black phantom!

The Grymdale Tribe, the Monitor Tribe, the battlefield—at that moment, he cast them all from his mind.

’Caden Albright’s identity has been exposed... but what about Eva? Is she alright?’

The sounds of slaughter on the battlefield came to an abrupt halt.

The words "Fallen Beastman," like a sudden clap of thunder, echoed in the silence.

In the ancient teachings passed down through the Beastman Continent, Fallen Beastmen were the ultimate taboo.

They fed on the Beastman Crystals of other beastmen. They were a life-devouring calamity, monsters!

All fallen monsters were exiled to the base of Thorncliff, so how could one suddenly appear here?

At that moment, whether they were Snake Beastmen from the Grymdale Tribe or Monitor Beastmen from the Monitor Tribe, they all fell into a state of utter chaos and terror. Who could possibly care about pillaging and plundering now?

The appearance of a Fallen Beastman meant a disaster far more terrifying than tribal warfare was upon them.

"Quick! To the cave—"

Someone in the crowd roared.

The formerly hostile beastmen, now in a tacit agreement, changed direction and swarmed like a tide toward Evangeline’s cave. Their only thought was to completely eliminate the hidden Fallen Beastman before the calamity could spread.

Elias Moretti raised his menacing triangular head, staring at the vast flood of beastmen. His scarlet forked tongue flickered rapidly, and every one of his scales quivered with tension.

Gable sloshed through the blood-soaked mud toward him, wiped the rain from his face, and said in a low voice, "The Monitor Tribe knows about the Fallen Beastman. As for Evangeline... what do you plan to do?"
