Chapter 215: No Second Chances 15

Lina’s breath caught in her chest.

Baby?

Her eyes narrowed. Christian had forced her to abort their child. Told her it was the wrong time, that it would ruin everything. That her depression afterward was a small price for protecting his future.

He had even taken matters into his own hands—and killed their baby.

That was the line. That was the moment when everything inside Lina shattered.

She could accept being the secret lover. She could bear the late nights alone, the stolen moments, the empty promises whispered after his calls with Stacey.

She could even swallow the shame, the aching loneliness that came from loving a man who only loved her in the shadows.

But this?

This was something she could never forgive.

If he hadn’t wanted the child, he could’ve said so. She would’ve understood. It would’ve hurt, yes—but she would’ve made the decision herself.

She would’ve walked out of his life, raised their baby on her own, and found strength in the knowledge that she made that choice with her heart and her will.

But Christian never gave her the chance.

He had decided for both of them, acting swiftly, ruthlessly, without even speaking to her. Without giving her a voice.

He didn’t just end a pregnancy—he stole her future. A future she had already begun to picture: tiny socks in drawers, warm bottles in the morning light, little hands clutching at her fingers.

She had already dreamed of cradling that child against her chest, of naming it something meaningful, of building a life around it with or without him.

And now that dream was gone. Snatched away. As if it meant nothing. As if she meant nothing.

It wasn’t just the betrayal. It was the cruelty of it all. The arrogance to believe he had the right to decide for her. The utter disregard for the life they had created—and the woman who had to carry the grief alone.

Her womb ached with a memory that had no grave. Her heart mourned for a child she never got to meet, for a life that had been silenced before it could even begin.

And yet, Christian continued on—partying, smiling in the press with Stacey, holding her hand in public like the proud father-to-be.

The hypocrisy was unbearable.

He had chosen to kill one child . . . and protect the other.

And that was the deepest cut of all.

And now, Stacey—who drunkenly stumbled into a hospital—was being doted on, protected, celebrated because her baby was apparently worth keeping?

Lina’s heart pounded. Anger, betrayal, grief—all surged through her at once.

Enough.

She opened her phone, saw the countless messages and videos Stacey had sent over the past few days—clips of Christian taking care of her in the hospital, stroking her hair, holding her hand, even kissing her forehead.

Stacey didn’t even hide her intentions. She wanted Lina to see it all. And Christian . . . he had made no effort to stop her.

At least Stacey remembered to message her.

Lina removed the SIM card from her phone and snapped it in half.

Then she inserted a new one.

She didn’t plan to use credit cards anymore. She had enough cash tucked away to last a couple of weeks—maybe more if she stayed smart.

She already paid for the hotel in advance and set up her transport to the airport. With Christian’s resources, he’d find her eventually . . . but by then, she would already be gone.

England was waiting.

And so was the life that Christian had stolen from her.

This time, Lina would take it back—on her own terms.

If Christian was really the villain of this story, then she would make him win.

Let her play the part.

However, it didn’t mean that she would stay in his life, and have romance with him and all.

Let him rise to power, close his precious business deal, get everything he ever wanted. Let the world think he was triumphant, untouchable, and winning in life.

But she wouldn’t be there beside him.

She wasn’t doing this for love anymore. She wasn’t doing it for their past, or the child they had lost, or the dreams she once harbored late at night while lying alone in their shared silence.

This time, she was doing it to break the cycle—to shatter the cruel loop she had been trapped in for too long.

Because staying would only repeat the same pain over and over again. The lies. The betrayal. The unspoken apologies that never came.

She had to choose a different path now. A path that pulled her away from Christian, away from the hurt, and toward something—anything—that might give her life back its meaning.

If she remained, nothing would change. She would always be the hidden one, the sacrifice. But if she left—if she truly cut herself out of his world—then maybe, just maybe, she would find out what Christian truly was without her.

Would he crumble?

Would he come running?

Or would he thrive, proving he never needed her in the first place?

Lina wasn’t sure, and that uncertainty both terrified and excited her.

There was so many possibilities about the Rank-A world.

This was a bold move—a calculated shift that could alter everything. Not just for him, but for her, too. Maybe it would finally give her clarity. Maybe it would give her plans a push and move things.

Or maybe it would lead to something entirely new, something that might led her to others characters.

She didn’t know what was waiting at the end of this choice. But for the first time in a long while, she was willing to find out.

Days passed, and although there was no direct sign of Christian, Lina could feel his presence lingering—like a shadow that never quite left her side.

She knew him well enough to sense that he was searching for her, quietly pulling strings behind the scenes, digging through every connection he had to find out where she’d gone. And yet, despite the silence, a strange, uncomfortable weight settled in her chest.
