The Web of Knightspur-Chapter 151
Nia looked at the Princess who was silent throughout the breakfast.
"Nia, come to my room. I want you to do something," Princess Eleanor’s eyes were sharp as she smiled innocently. Anyone who walked by would think that Princess Eleanor was in a good mood but the reality was far away from it. She wasn’t in a good mood and Nia understood it.
"Yes, Princess." Princess Eleanor got up from the chair and she started to move toward her room. There were still no guards around which should have been normal but Princess Eleanor knew why her heart was filled with unrest.
’I hope the Grand Duke did not punish Sir Kit a lot. I just hope that he is all well and comes back soon,’ Princess Eleanor’s mind was filled with such thoughts as she bit her lips in annoyance. She was worried about a lot of things but the most frequent thing bugging her mind was Sir Kit’s disappearance.
’Well, I cannot say that he disappeared when he informed me that I might not see him for a few days,’ Princess Eleanor’s eyes turned dull as she sighed, ’But then why am I feeling abandoned?’
"Princess?" A voice brought Princess Eleanor back to reality as she looked at the man standing in front of her door.
"Doctor Raul," Princess Eleanor tried to smile but it was difficult for her to think of a reason why he was here now. ’It is not time for the medication yet,’
"The Grand Duke wants Princess Eleanor to be treated as soon as possible. After all, we cannot keep a Crown Princess candidate at the Beaumont mansion for a long time." Doctor Raul explained as he moved the medicinal bowl in front of Princess Eleanor as if he was saying, ’I am here for work’
Princess Eleanor’s eyes turned narrow as she looked at the bowl of medicine. For some reason, the color was a little different from before and Princess Eleanor knew that it was because Doctor Raul must have changed some ingredients. ’They want me out of here soon. Maybe I did cross a line yesterday.’
"Where is the Grand Duke?" Princess Eleanor asked as she looked at Doctor Raul as she opened the door. She knew that she could not keep him waiting outside for long. Not when Nia will be entering soon.
"The Grand Duke was called by the Emperor. He is at the Royal Palace." Doctor Raul saw Princess Eleanor sitting on the chair as she moved her leg forwards. He knew he was here for a job and he did exactly that.
Princess Eleanor drank the medicine as she saw Doctor Raul Bandaging her leg again. It was clear that he did not want her to ask any more questions so Princess Eleanor kept quiet.
She did not know if it was because of the fact that she had crossed a certain line with people in the Beaumont mansion but Princess Eleanor had a feeling that she should not push the people who didn’t want to answer.
"Princess Eleanor should take some rest." Doctor Raul got up as he took the medicinal bowl that Princess Eleanor drank.
"Does Doctor Raul not have a good impression of me?" Princess Eleanor asked as she looked at the man in confusion. She knew that what he was doing now was giving her face as a Princess but he had his own opinion about her.
"The Princess thinks too much." Doctor Raul smiled as he said, "I do not have a bad impression of Princess but I am a little curious. I hope that we might be able to get along and work together but maybe I do not know how to convey my opinions."
"Does the doctor want to be my friend?" Princess Eleanor asked as she raised her eyebrows. She did not think that Doctor Raul would think in such a way about her.
"I think the Princess is far more intelligent than I am in terms of medicines and I want to learn from her. But if friendship is a foundation for it, then I will be honored to be Princess Eleanor’s friend."
Princess Eleanor swallowed hard. She knew that Doctor Raul had his doubts but his words now indicated that what she was thinking was in the right direction.
Princess Eleanor smiled as she blinked innocently, "If Doctor Raul wants to be my friend then that is an honor. I cannot think of a man who is more knowledgeable than you. Maybe I will learn a thing or two."
Doctor Raul nodded his head as he smiled before leaving the room. As soon as the doors were closed, the smile on Princess Eleanor’s face faded as she frowned. 𝑓𝑟ℯ𝘦𝓌𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝑐ℴ𝓂
’Is it time for me to leave the Beaumont mansion?’ Princess Eleanor thought. She knew that she could not let people think a lot about her. If people get curious, they tend to inquire and find each and every small detail. Won’t it be dangerous for Princess Eleanor?
’Sir Kit said that I have to make smart choices.’ Princess Eleanor looked at the closed door as her eyes narrowed, ’The only man who had come close to identifying the poison and finding the cure is him. Should I bring the man to my side?’
Princess Eleanor shook her head. ’But Doctor Raul is different. He is not like Commander Colt and I can manipulate and fool. I need to have a give-and-take relationship with him. I need to come up with a plan soon,’
Soon a knock on the door disturbed Princess Eleanor’s trail of thoughts. "Come in," Princess Eleanor said in a small voice and soon she saw Nia entering.
"Princess," Nia bowed respectfully as she waited for the Princess’s order. Princess Eleanor smiled as she called her near her.
"Take the paper from the drawer and write a reply to Duke Felix." Princess Eleanor smirked.
"But..." Nia was confused. She wanted to cut her ties with Duke Felix but she also knew that she had to help the Princess.
"I will tell you what to write. He is not the only one who can manipulate people into giving him the information. I am a Princess too who had gone through the successor’s training." Princess Eleanor’s eyes were bright, "Let’s create a web for Duke Felix, Nia. What do you think?"
Nia nodded her head. She could feel the old Princess Eleanor coming back to life. The image she had forgotten about the Princess was here now.
Nia sat beside Princess Eleanor as she was directed. Her eyes narrowed as she blinked a few times. And as soon as she was instructed she started writing.
"Duke Felix, I want to congratulate you on your wedding. I know that the Princess would have loved to be there to see his best friend getting married to her sister but unfortunately due to her current situation she cannot come there personally, but she wished the best for your future life.
Speaking of the Princess, she had moved to Beaumont’s mansion and all the people here are very helpful and understanding. I have never seen her this happy before and I think the change was what she needed in her life.
As for the poison in her body, the Doctor here is really helpful. The Princess is now feeling better and will be cured soon. I never knew that Doctor Raul was so talented. I wonder why he does not work with the healers. Anyway, the Princess has become brighter. But she is still in pain. Maybe she misses her family a lot and is unable to overcome the trauma. Maybe if the Princess stays at Beaumont’s mansion for a few more days, she might be able to heal completely.
Due to the medication provided by Doctor Raul, she was relieved from the nightmares. I think Doctor Raul might be able to help her with it as well. I just hope that Duke Felix advises the Princess to extend her stay at the Beaumont mansion. She will listen to your words.
Lastly, I hope that you have a beautiful and happy married life ahead of us. I cannot wait for the good news."
Princess Eleanor dictated as she looked at Nia who was writing all the words she had just said. "Nia, you know Duke Felix the best. You can write a new letter in your style but the contents and meaning should be the same. I am eager to know his answer."
Nia nodded her head as she looked at Princess Eleanor. "I will readjust the letter and deliver it to Sir Kit. I know that Duke Felix will reply soon."
Princess Eleanor nodded her head as she blinked her eyes. "Yes, I hope that he replies soon and we get a clear understanding of his stand."
Nia nodded her head and smiled. "Yes, Princess. I hope so too."
Princess Eleanor did not reply as she looked at Nia who had started working on the letter. A smile formed on Princess Eleanor’s face as her heart filled with anticipation.
