Chapter 153: Chapter 153

Duke Christopher Beaumont walked into his study.

His footsteps were sharp as he sat on the chair in deep thoughts. Duke Christopher had gotten his hold on the letter Duke Felix had written to the Crown Prince. It was the one he was reading in the meeting room which made him enraged.

’The Crown prince wants to come to the Beaumont’s mansion. I wonder why? Just because Duke Felix advised him for it? Why would he consider such advice when he usually just ignores it and does whatever he wants to do.’ Duke Christopher was in deep thought as he tapped his finger on the table.

Many possibilities were flowing through his mind but something was very peculiar. He was sure that the Crown Prince had developed an unknown interest in Princess Eleanor.

’Yes, he thinks that she is interesting. I am sure of it. I can see it in his eyes that he wants to know more about her. But why? What did the Princess do to make the Crown Prince so interested in her?’

The Grand Duke was thinking about all the letters that he had received but he could not find anything in particular. But soon he realized that maybe this was all his mistake. Maybe because of him the Crown Prince had started seeing Princess Eleanor in new lights.

’Don’t tell me it is because of the rose?’ The Grand Duke looked at the bookshelf as he narrowed his eyes. He could not believe that his one little impulsive decision had created such a huge impact.

The Grand Duke was silent as he took a deep breath. He knew that thinking about the past was useless. He had to control his trail of thoughts and focus now. The Crown Prince was about to enter the Beaumont mansion soon.

’I cannot come in front of him as Sir Kit. And I cannot come in front of the Princess as Duke Beaumont.’ The Grand Duke thought as he closed his eyes, ’It is a good thing that the Princess is already informed that Sir Kit will not be there for a day or two. Now all I have to do is to avoid the Princess as Duke Beaumont.’

The Grand Duke took a deep breath as he opened his eyes and looked straight towards the door. He ran a small bell that was placed on the table as he said to himself. ’Yes, I can do that. I can avoid her as Duke Beaumont.’

"Grand Duke," A soldier came inside as he bowed respectively, waiting for Duke Beaumont’s order.

"Call Doctor Raul for me."

The soldier nodded his head as he bowed again before walking out of the room.

The study room fell back into silence again as the Grand Duke looked outside the widow. The sun was still up in the sky, shining brightly, but he knew that the gloomy atmosphere that he was hiding in his heart was much stronger and more powerful at the moment.

"Duke," Soon the Grand Duke heard a knock on the door, making him come back to reality. He blinked his eyes as he took a deep breath.

"Come inside." His tone was dull but the aura surrounding him was powerful.

As soon as Doctor Raul entered the room, he knew that something was bothering the Grand Duke. He could see it in the man’s eyes that he was not happy.

"The Crown Prince will come here tomorrow," The Grand Duke said in a dull tone as he moved in hand, indicating Doctor Raul to sit down.

"For a day?" Doctor Raul asked as he raised his eyebrows.

"I hope he might, but no. He will be with her for a long time. If my assumption is right, then he might be here for a few days."

"So want to take the Princess to the Royal palace?"

The Grand duke nodded his head as he looked at Doctor Raul as he said, "Yes, so tell me where are we with her treatment?"

Doctor Raul sighed, "I had already told you. He is healing on her own. The poison is getting removed from her body as there is no new intake to it."

The Grand Duke nodded his head. "I think he is here to understand something."

"Huh?" Doctor Raul asked as he looked at the Grand Duke with a narrowed gaze. "Why do we think so?"

"Because he will be bringing the chief healer here. I think they want to understand what the great doctor Raul did that they could not. They want to understand the secret that you used to cure the Princess." The Grand Duke smiled as he leaned on the chair. His body relaxed as he looked up. "They are curious, Raul. And you know what that means?"

"They are planning something." Doctor Raul said. "I know what to do Christopher. I am not a fool. No one will know that I am studying the poison."

The Grand Duke looked at Doctor Raul as he said, "And how are you planning to deceive them?"

"I will make them understand that their knowledge of the poison is not up to the mark. Don’t worry Duke. I will make them understand that apart from doing fruitless experiments they should keep their mind intact and understand some basic knowledge. Anyway, that is not what I am afraid of."

"Then what are you afraid of?" The Grand Duke asked as he waited for Doctor Raul’s answer.

"I am wondering how to get Princess Eleanor’s blood."

The air around the doom froze. Doctor Raul could not help but look up at the man with a shining gaze, "Stop looking at me like that. I am not going to drain her out of the blood. I would only require a small amount to study the poison but once the Crown prince is here, it might be difficult to obtain."

"Why are you obsessed with the poison?" The Grand Duke asked as he raised his eyebrows in question.

"Why? It is simple. Because I am afraid that soon someone will get affected by it and we will not have any means of treating it." Doctor Raul smiled as he understood the Grand Duke’s gaze, "But don’t worry I will not let Princess Eleanor suffer. I think I have a way to get her help. The Princess looks knowledgeable and curious."

"Yes, she is curious but I think that this might affect her a lot in the near future. Anyway, you should leave and start hiding your things. Who knows what the Crown Prince is thinking? I have a feeling that he might enter your little room and see with his own two eyes what made you cure the Princess."

Doctor Raul nodded his head as he got up from the chair. He smiled as he walked towards the door but the Grand Duke’s words stopped him, "And don’t forget to inform the Princess that the Crown Prince of the Roulux Empire will be here to meet her tomorrow morning."

Doctor Raul raised his eyebrows as he turned around. His hand held the door handle, "And you will not tell her personally?"

"Don’t you know the answer to it already?" Doctor Raul could hear the threat in the Grand Duke’s tone but he decided to ignore it.

Doctor Raul laughed as he said with a smile, "I know it. But it is still enjoyable to look at that expression on your face." Doctor Raul walked out as he turned around to close the door. "Don’t worry I will get that blood sample and tell the Princess that her future husband is coming to meet her soon." 𝒻𝓇𝑒𝘦𝘸𝑒𝒷𝓃ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝒸ℴ𝘮

As soon as the door closed, Duke Christopher could hear a burst of laughter from outside. The Grand Duke’s gaze narrowed. He wanted to curse but he swallowed it before he burst into laughter. His eyes sharpened as a dark aura surrounded him.

"Future husband? We will see."

Princess Eleanor walked toward the garden with a smile on her face.

Nia was following her with a pouch in her hand. It was covered with a double layer. Nia’s eyes were moving around in confusion. She could not understand why Princess Eleanor asked her to bring the things here. It was not the right place to grow such things.

"Nia?" Princess Eleanor said, making Nia frightened. She did not know when she stopped at a particular place and looked at the tall trees surrounding the area.

"Princess, why are we here?" Nia asked in a small tone. Her gaze shivered as she looked around her. "This is not even a garden."

Princess Eleanor smiled as she did not reply. Her eyes looked in a particular direction as she moved towards it with anticipation, "Let me show you something nice, Nia."

Nia did not know what to expect but she walked behind the Princess obediently. Her eyes blinked from time to time in anticipation as she could see the Princess getting excited.

"Here we are," Princess Eleanor said, making Nia stop in her position. Her eyes looked around in shock. She had never expected such a place to exist here.
