The Web of Knightspur-Chapter 165
Sir Kit looked deep into Princess Eleanor’s eyes before pulling her into his arms.
Many emotions were troubling him. But at this moment, all he cared about was giving a blanket of warmth to this lady in his arms. Sir Kit could feel her slender body shivering in his embrace as she tried her best to control her emotions. But what he wanted was for her to lose and express herself. Only then will she not feel so entangled.
"I understand, Princess," Sir Kit smiled as he looked down. His hand caressed her hair gently as though he was trying to smoothen the stray strands out. "You want to become the Empress. But you also do not want Crown Prince Richard to be the Emperor."
Princess Eleanor moved her hand and fisted them on Sir Kit’s clothes. Her eyes were filled with tears and she tried hard to control them, but soon they started flowing down. It was a subconscious reaction that she could not control even though she tried hard to.
Princess Eleanor nodded her head. She wanted the power that the title gave her. She wanted to execute it but she did not want the man who came with it. How was she able to accept a killer who took everything away from her?
Sir Kit understood Princess Eleanor’s emotions. He had been there when Princess Eleanor discovered the truth. The Emperor and the Crown Prince were the ones who were responsible for the death of Princess Eleanor’s family.
"I don’t know how the Crown Prince is going to attend it, but if the opportunity provides itself, then I think you should grab it." Sir Kit said in a daze as he looked at Princess Eleanor. His eyes lingered on her as he smiled.
Princess Eleanor pushed Sir Kit away as she looked at his face. "How can you say that?" Her voice was trembling as she could not believe that he was the one who could say, "I thought you liked me...."
As soon as the words were said out loud, Princess Eleanor realized what she had said and she covered her mouth in a hurry. Her eyes were wide in shock. She wanted so badly to erase Sir Kit’s memory of her words. How could she be so dumb as to tell the man that she knew he likes her? It was as if she was telling him that she had been awake all along when he expressed his emotions to her.
"So Princess Eleanor... you knew from the start that I liked you?" Sir Kit laughed as his eyes shined. There was no resentment or embarrassment on his face that his emotions were exposed. Instead, he looked rather happy.
He moved a little closer as he touched Princess Eleanor’s face. His thumb rubbed small circles along her jawline as his eyes darkened. "Yes, I do like you. There is no denying it."
A shiver ran through Princess Eleanor’s body as she swallowed hard. Sir Kit was close to her, maybe a little too close. Princess Eleanor tried to create some distance between them, but soon she realized that no matter how far she moved back, Sir Kit would move the same amount of distance towards her. She could not continue doing this.
Princess Eleanor sighed as she stopped her movements. "But will you be happy to see the person you like getting married to someone else?"
"I never said that you have to marry him." Sir Kit smiled mischievously. His white teeth shone in the darkness, making Princess Eleanor’s body stiffen.
She did not know what to make of the situation when Sir Kit smiled and moved towards her. His eyes darkened as his breath mixed in with hers. "What I am saying is to let the Crown Prince do whatever he wants to do. If by his struggles, the Princess is going to be declared as the chosen one, then there is no harm. The Princess will be guaranteed to be able to stay as the Future Princess and the Future Empress. As per my understanding of the Crown Prince, he would like to have an open relationship. After all, he is a man who cannot stop flirting."
Princess Eleanor turned serious as she nodded her head, "Yes, he wants freedom even after marriage."
"See..." Sir Kit rested his forehead on Princess Eleanor’s forehead as he looked straight into her eyes. "So make a deal with the man. Tell him to give you some time to clear your thoughts and accept him. If he had proposed to be with you, then he would have his own thoughts in mind. So, I don’t think the Crown Prince will reject it. And then..."
Princess Eleanor’s breathing sped up as she swallowed hard, "And then what?"
"The chosen one will choose the future heir. Who said that it has to be the Crown Prince?"
Princess Eleanor’s eyes widened. She understood what Sir Kit was implying. She was the one who had the right to select the future heir once she was named the chosen one. How could she forget the prophecy?
"The one revealing the true ruler
Belongs not to the empire
The consequence a crown fire
If the chosen does not desire."
Princess Eleanor whispered out the words as she blinked her eyes nervously. This was the prophecy that Lady Gisella had recited to her when she was in the Angevin Kingdom. It was the one that had the Emperor requesting every Princess to be sent to the Roulux Empire.
Princess Eleanor looked at Sir Kit who only nodded his head. "So, I want the Princess to agree and wait till the right time comes. You do not need to choose him as the Future Emperor. You can choose whoever it is that you desire."
"But what if I become the future Crown Princess without the Gods’ wishes? What if I bring the Crown troubles?" Princess Eleanor swallowed hard as the thought of disobeying and manipulating the prophecy was disturbing her peace of mind.
"The Prophecy is a fraud in itself. So the Princess does not have to worry. All you have to do is let things flow along and I will take care of everything else." Sir Kit consoled her as he moved a little closer. His lips were inches away from hers as their breaths intertwined.
"Do you want to be the Emperor?" Princess Eleanor finally asked in a whisper. Her mind was filled with the thoughts of him being the man who would rule next to her. The only problem was that she did not know the face of the man.
"I want to be the one beside you, Princess. I want to be with you." Sir Kit said passionately before his lips landed on Princess Eleanor’s.
Both of their heartbeats were rapid as the feeling of warmth spread through their bodies. Princess Eleanor’s mind was buzzing, but she soon moved her hand as her fingers weaved their way into his hair. Her other hand intertwined with Sir Kit’s hand and she pulled him closer to her.
She had long known how the man felt about her. But now, she was clear about her own thoughts. All she could see was Sir Kit beside her. She wanted to spend her lifetime with this man. But she knew that there would be a long hurdle between where they currently were and where they wanted to be.
"I will tell the Crown Prince that I will take up his offer," Princess Eleanor said breathlessly when Sir Kit gave her some space to breathe. "But I want to see your face too. If I am to trust you, I need to know who you really are."
Princess Eleanor wanted to remove the mask but Sir Kit grabbed her hand that had come close to his face. His eyes were dark and he was a little breathless. "I will let the Princess know my real self but not just yet. When the time is right, I will come clear in front of you then."
Princess Eleanor looked meaningfully at Sir Kit. She could feel that it was important for him to hide his identity for now. She finally nodded her head as she moved closer to the man. Her hands went past his face and wrapped around his neck as she whispered, "But I should know what my lover looks like, shouldn’t I?"
Sir Kit was shocked. His body refused to move as he let the Princess’s words register in his mind. "Lo-lover?"
Princess Eleanor laughed as she nodded her head, finding his stammering adorable. "We have kissed and shared our innermost feelings. We have even considered it together. Aren’t we lovers yet?"
Sir Kit nodded his head as he laughed delightedly, "Yes, we are lovers!"
Sir Kit pushed the Princess back onto the bed as her head hit the pillow. He moved his body over hers as he looked down at her, "And we have kissed too." Sir Kit’s voice was filled with a playful vibe but there was a strong possessiveness hidden behind his gaze. He did not waste any more time as he dove in for a deep kiss. Seeing Princess Eleanor’s reciprocation, Sir Kit’s emotions took over.
Sir Kit deepened their kiss. His tongue explored Princess Eleanor’s mouth thoroughly as his hand gently caressed her face. "We are lovers, Princess. Don’t you ever forget that." His husky voice repeated that fact, not allowing the Princess to forget.
Princess Eleanor laughed at Sir Kit’s words as she pulled him closer to her, biting his lips, "You should never forget it too."
