The Werewolf King's Bride-Chapter 549: Annoyed At Everything
(From Demetrius’s Perspective)
I had no idea why Blue was so happy to be able to come here. She had at least one meal with Evan and sometimes with his fiancée every single day and she looked too fucking happy even though I just wanted to go home. Even Dion now got familiar to this place and did not cry anymore.
I was straight up annoyed with everything. I never liked to go away from home that much. Blue was the same, but this place was an exception. Must be because she became too great of a friend with that damn King of Trouvaille.
So, when the day of the banquet finally arrived, I was really happy. It meant we were free to leave as soon as possible after the banquet.
"Just look at your son. He is smiling and clearly happy. And he looks like you. Why are you so different? Why are you so cranky?" Evelyn grumbled.
Now even this woman was driving me mad. Last time, she fought with me about the name of my next child. She said if I had a girl, Marijuana would be her name. Honestly, who gave such a name to their daughter? Marijuana? My wife once told me it was the name of an addictive material in her world.
There was no way I would name my daughter something like that, unless I was the craziest bastard ever. She also said if I had a boy, Ambush would be his name. Ambush? Was she dumb or what? Because I did not want to name them that, she got angry and got into a fight with me. Worst of all, my wife did not believe I was not the one starting the fight.

I did not tell her the whole story because I was really angry. She would have understood then.
"Why do you have to carry my son whenever you see him?" I asked angrily.
"Because I like carrying little babies and more importantly, I am literally his aunt," she said.
"Just have another baby if you like carrying little babies. Leave my son alone."
"I want to, but Merrick thinks it will be too much," she sighed.
"Maintaining a newborn while traveling will be really hard," Merrick said. He was almost always so quiet that I kind of forgot he existed.
"Come on, we managed to take care of Ava just fine," she said, nudging him with her elbow.
"Yes, but it was really hard and I am pretty sure we could have done much better if we were not traveling," Merrick said.
"Yes, yes, whatever…," Evelyn rolled her eyes. "She turned out just fine, no?"
It was clear that Evelyn was not much different from our parents. Maybe she was a little better, but that was it. She was neglectful as well. Apparently, she was not the best mother.
"Where is Blue by the way? I have not seen her in a while," Evelyn said.
"She is with King Ford’s fiancée."
"Wow, they have gotten pretty close, no? They have food together often and I have seen them chatting a lot too," she said. "They seem to be on good terms."
"They are on reasonable terms. And why do you care so much? Don’t ruin this morning for me," I grumbled.
I kind of took Dion from her by force and left to find his mommy. Dion was in a really good mood. He was giggling pretty often. Well, he was a happy baby in general. I was getting a little anxious about it. We were expecting another child and I was afraid that we were getting too used to handling an easy baby and if our second child would not be like him, we would have a really hard time.
Since nine in the morning, my wife had been somewhere with the Lady Liliana. Now, it was eleven, yet there was no sign of her.
"Her Majesty, the Queen of Querencia is with Lady Liliana Vance," a maid replied when I asked her.
"Yes, I do know that. Take me to her," I said.
She led me to the third floor of the Imperial Palace. Dion had gotten quite excited. As Evelyn said, he probably now could recognize his mother’s scent.
’Me too, buddy. I am getting excited too to see your mommy even though I have seen her this morning.’
Blue was in a huge room full of dresses and jewelry. She was talking to Lady Liliana while pointing at an ivory dress.
She looked at us right when I was at the door and smiled. "You two are here? Baby, I told you I will need some time with Lady Liliana," she said, smiling as I walked to her.
"Dion missed you," I said as she took Dion from me.
"Aww, my little baby, did you miss me?" she said cooingly to Dion.
Dion giggled at her and hid his face in her chest. "Lady Liliana and I were choosing a dress for the evening. She got five dresses made, but cannot choose which one to wear. I am helping her with it," she explained to me.
"Her Highness is helping me a lot. I am taking so much of your time," Lady Liliana said guiltily.
’Yes, you are. If you understand that, why are you doing it?’
"No, no, it’s fine. I have got nothing to do anyway. I am glad to help," Blue said. "Dem, go out, honey. We, women, are doing something important."
"No, it’s fine if His Highness stays here," Lady Liliana said. "I don’t have any problem."
"Well, if that’s the case…," Blue gave me a small nod.
I sat down on the small couch with Dion who was now trying to chew on my nose and cheek, while searching for his mother’s nipple. He was well fed, but he always wanted more than he needed.
"Mommy is busy, Dion. Just wait a little," I said.
"Okay, so our last two choices are these two dresses. Both of them look excellent on you. The blue one is has a pretty ribbon on the chest, which looks good, but in a cute kind of way, which is something that you might not need tonight. In my opinion, you should go with something classy and gorgeous. In that case, I believe the red one is the best choice. It is absolutely gorgeous.
It is sparkly, but not enough to make it less classy. The side cut is also beautiful. Since it has a V neckline, choker length pearls would look really good. But since you are not a fan of those, you can just choose those little pearly ones, or something with a minimal locket," Blue said.
"Yes, I also think the red dress will look better for tonight as tonight will be my first public appearance as the King’s fiancée. Although it is not my type, I still should wear it. It is important to look confident. And that princess kind of dress is simply not suited for this occasion," Lady Liliana said.
Blue was right about the dress choice. Although some people might get sentimental and would say what someone wore did not matter, while in reality it mattered a lot. First impression was a major thing. That was why I used to choose dressed for Blue at first as first impressions were very important. After that, she figured out her style and did it herself.
"For the shoes, choose the ones you like. All of the shoes will go well with this dress, so choose the one you feel the most comfortable in. It would be weird if you get blisters and cannot walk, or if you don’t feel comfortable at all. Just look at my shoes. They might not look comfortable, but they are.
I got them custom made and there are a gel type thingy around the heel and toes because I get blisters easily. You should get them too. Just tell the King of Trouvaille about it and he will manage them for you."

I had introduced those shoe gels to her and she had thanked me at least ten times about them. She said they were a life saver. I had to admit. They made shoes more comfortable, especially for women.
While she talked to Lady Liliana about jewelry, I was served tea and cookies. I got them tested with a few drops of a potion that Luc made. Then, I drank it and had a few of the gingerbread cookies. People usually had them in snowy days. But then again, something should not be chosen to be eaten at a particular time of the year. Foods are meant to be made anytime and eaten anytime.
Dion was now playing with a string he found around the cuff link of my coat.
"Where did a string come from? I am pretty sure I checked it…," I grumbled. I hated it when things were not perfect. I needed to check which dumbass managed my clothing. Did I pay him extra for nothing?
