When she left, Jacob Hai approached the table and he start down. The three people he came with occupied the table next to them and sat stiffly, waiting for instructions.

"I am off this week young master. What is this urgent business that you want me to take care of?" Jacob asked Caishen immediately after sitting.

"My wife needs a lawyer." Caishen answered. "You are not dressed in a suit. Why are you...." He broke off and moved his right hand finger in a circular way, pointing to Jacob's outfit.

The man looked less like a lawyer and more like a biker. He was dressed in blue jeans, a white shirt, black leather jacket and black boots.

"This is all my sister's work. Hai Dongmei picked out everything from the latest catalogue of some fashion magazine and dressed me up for a brother-sister date."

"I prefer you in a suit." Caishen muttered.

He grabbed a glass of wine off the table and took a sip.

Jacob tilted his head to the right slightly and he observed Caishen. Then, out of nowhere he laughed. It was a soft laugh that came with a realization.

Zhang Caishen was not irritated by the outfit simply because of it's appearance but because he thought it would catch his wife's eye. It was funnier because Caishen was not even aware of what he was experiencing.

"It must be true what they are saying." he said.

"What?" Caishen asked as he put down the glass.

"They say you have bloomed." Jacob replied. "I hope you don't mind if I have a glass of wine as we wait for your wife. To be sincere, I came because I wanted to see the face of the woman whose one punch breaks jaws."

Now, he was more interested in seeing the real face of the woman that had managed to stir emotions in a robot like Zhang Caishen.

He raised his hand and signaled at a waiter who hurried over to take the order.

"Hey, explain what you mean by your words?" Caishen asked him. There was an impatience in his voice.

"Easy, you are jealous." Jacob stated.

Caishen sneered.

Jacob laughed, amused more than he expected. The great Zhang Caishen was not wise when it comes to matters of the opposite sex. He acted around most of them in the same way he acted around men. A woman could flirt with him right now and he would be clueless unless she said it directly.

"You are smart but when it comes to love you are quite dumb. Dongmei used to accompany me on almost every business trip that we took together but you never once questioned why she spent most of that time following you instead of me."

"I figured she was interested in learning more about contract negotiation." he answered.

"Your answer proves my point." Jacob replied, "Dongmei has a degree in social work. Why would she be interested in contract negotiation? Maybe you should try reading those romance novels so that you can learn a few things. You are jealous right now."

Confidently, Caishen informed Jacob. "I am neither resentful nor envious. I bear no grudges, mistrust, suspicion, doubt, discontent, anxious..."

"Mmm." Jacob squeaked.

His response at that word caught Caishen's attention and held it.

"You think I am anxious." he stated.

The way he said it was cold and the words came out harsher than Caishen intended. Jacob was wise enough to know that it was time to wrap it up. He and Caishen were friendly but not deep friends like he was with Gu Biming and the others. Sometimes, loose lips and presumptions had grave consequences.

"I am just here as a lawyer young master Zhang. My personal opinions on your personal life are outside the scope of my job." Jacob answered.

"Hmph." Caishen responded.

They sat across from each other, nursing their drinks silently as they waited for Alix to return.

She was in the bathroom meanwhile, laughing her ass off because the system had just shared footage of her father being denied entry into the house of the woman that was the mother of his son, her brother.

"I have never seen my grandmother look that speechless and confused. It was right of me to ask you to keep an eye on them."

She had the system keep an eye on the brother she didn't know because she wanted to know if he was Lin Qianfan's favorite. With a son in the picture the royal seat of Lin power holdings had a new competitor and Jing Hee was not even aware.

What would she do when she found out? Alix knew that her stepmother would kill the boy before he could become a threat to Billi.

"Hmm, should I bring him over to my side?" She asked herself.

The boy and his mother were the perfect reckoning for Jing Hee. Her sore spot in tangible form with a face.

There was no denying that Yuewei was her father's biological son, the DNA test proved it. So did his eyes and nose that were similar to Lin Qianfan's.

"You should." The system told her. " Your brother's existence will shake things up in that company. Either your stepmother will pull him to her side and gain more favor or she will destroy him.

I think she will destroy him eventually no matter what happens. She even has someone following your father but he is not aware. You should decide soon and ensure that your decision does not take up the time meant for gaming."

Alix made her mind up to meet Meifen as soon as possible. An enemy of my enemy is my friend, that was a good analogy to apply in this case even though she and Meifen were not friends. What they were, was obstacles.

In fact, Lin Billi might be the bigger enemy because she had a more devious mind than her mother but she just knew how to hide it better.

She would hide behind Jing Hee and pull the strings like a puppet master. She always assumed that Lin power holdings was the grand prize which would be handed to her on a silver platter but Yuewei's emergence was a hitch in those plans.

The hitch would have to be removed gently or violently.

"It was still funny seeing my...Lin Qianfan being beaten up , even if it was just the arms. Maybe Meifen is here to avenge my mother. She should have at least slapped him a few times before dying."

She walked to the sink and washed her hands. A new sadness had settled into her bones as soon as she thought about her mother.

Officially her cause of death was high blood pressure which caused a stroke. But, it was Lin Qianfan's cruel treatment that brought the disease which killed her.

"Madam Qian is here." The system informed her.
