The Young master's fake bride and her lucky system-Chapter 233: The bubble.
"Okay, why is it suddenly awkward?" Alix blurted out. When they were inside the restaurant, everything was perfect. The feelings were right, the vibe was great and the connection felt intense. Outside, everything suddenly turned around as if the world had flipped over and was now upside down.
Alix couldn't take it anymore, she had to say something. It was better than standing there awkwardly.
"It's not awkward, we are just not in our own little bubble anymore." he told her.
She said to him, 'I like the bubble."
After declaring that, she stopped kicking the ground and looked at him. He probably liked the bubble too, she guessed.
"Me too." he answered, with a smile.
But they both knew that they could not always be in the bubble. They had to come out and face the real world, go back to tackling their problems and chasing their goals.
"Sooo, uhm, I will see you at home I guess." he told her.
She nodded and turned around to open her car door for herself.
Bi Cang leaped as if what she was about to do was unheard of and he grabbed the door before she could open.
"Ehem, young madam, leave such trivial tasks to us." he told her.
He was actually dead serious as he said it, not a hint of embarrassment on his face. What Alix did not know was that Caishen had made in clear that under no circumstances were her fingers allowed to be injured or participate in unnecessary tasks. What she also didn't know was that Jacob had randomly mentioned to Caishen that he should insure her fingers because talent like hers would soar and she had some expensive fingers. Caishen had laughed it off of course, but he did intend to speak to Alix about it at some point.
Others in the business did such things, even footballers insured their legs so why not Alix's fingers?
"Before I forget." She said. She reached into her bag and retrieved a mini sized fruit box. It was transparent on the outside, so the fruits inside were visible to the naked eye. "Take this with you to the office. When you get hungry later you can snack on them."
Caishen was very confused. How was she carrying a fruit box in that bag? Did the bag have secret shelves? It did not even look that big to contain most of the things it had and she had dozens of brand name bags and yet she carried this particular one everywhere.
"I packed this myself, it's all organic." She shoved the fruit box at him.
One of his bodyguards rushed to carry it away and put it in his car.
"Okay, bye-bye." She waved at him and entered the car.
Her car drove out before his and when she left, he was getting into his as well, a look of confusion still on his face.
She, meanwhile was happy. A new anniversary date, a hubby that was willing to work on their marriage, funds for the third world, the orchids she would sell off tomorrow. All in all, it was not a bad day for her. Humming a little tune, she logged into the virtual gaming world and decided to return to the party. Who knew if she would get other good things from there?
Soon however, she had to leave the gaming world because she was back at the school. The journey back had only been fifteen minutes. She didn't get anything good from the party in that little time.
Rushing to her office, she found Lexian inside, already waiting for her.
As soon as she saw Alix, she got up and initiated a hug. "Sister, you are here."
Alix was very apologetic because she was running late. Lexian had been here for close to an hour.
"I am so sorry, I had a prior meeting and I forgot that I was supposed to meet you. I swear I am not always late." she rapidly explained as she took a sit.
Lexian waved her hands, gesturing that all these apologies were not necessary. "It's okay. Your assistant has been very nice to me. She got me something to eat and even put the tv on for me to keep me entertained."
That's when Alix noticed that the tv was on and a marine life documentary was playing on sea otters. She frowned, shivered and shook her head as if a ghost had just passed through her.
"Damn sea otters." she muttered.
"What did you say sister?" Lexian asked her.
Alix smiled and said, "That we should get down to business in order to avoid further delays. You want beef jerky and I want money."
Her finger pointed to Lexian and then to herself as she spoke.
Lexian nodded, agreeing with the facts which had brought them together. "Yes, I will not go through corners and come at you directly. I want to negotiate. I heard about the price which you charge the national painter and it's a little steep. Sister, please give me a discount."
She folded her hands together, pouted and gave Alix puppy eyes.
"Ho!" Alix exclaimed. This one had come with cuteness as a means of bargaining. No wonder she kept on calling her sister directly.
It was true though that the price elder Ren got the beef jerky at was quite high and this was all due to grandpa Tao. It was not just high but ridiculously high and anybody that heard about it would cover their mouth in shock.
"How much do you want me to charge you per jar?" Alix asked her.
Lexian raised four fingers.

"Four thousand." Alix said unsurely.
"Hundred." Lexian whispered. When she was done stating the price, she covered her own face as if she was filled with shame.
Alix shook her head and laughed. Four hundred per jar was still profitable for her. This kind of jerky was not that expensive in the gaming world. She had been willing to charge elder Ren one hundred yuan back then.
However, Alix needed money, lots of money. The higher the world, the more expensive to play so the more funds required. The school too needed money to be run and expanded.
"Shares." her system suggested.
Alix smiled because they were right in sync. She and the system had the exact same thought.
"I can accept the deal, but, only one condition. In fact, I am willing to go down to two hundred fifty yuan per jar if, and if only you agree to give me some shares in heavenly bite.
The cut is up to you but I will accept nothing less than ten percent. In return, I will not just provide beef jerky, but other things as well. I have my connections into the rare organic agricultural market.
There are more things that I could bring to the table but only if you trust me to be a part of the business. If not, then I want six hundred yuan per jar of beef jerky, non negotiable."
Lexian's eyes were in shock. This was not how she saw the negotiation going. Also, when did they go all the way to six hundred yuan per jar from four hundred?
"Take your time thinking about it and get back to me whenever you have made up your mind." Alix told her.
This was not a deal to be made today. Lexian had a partner to speak to and Alix was patient, she had all the time in the world to wait her out.
