"You are just filled with violence lately." She answered the system. But his suggestion was not bad. Actually she did plan to break Billi’s hands because the other wanted to cut hers off.

Jenny was still not finished and she said, "The last call you received yesterday is from miss Meifen. She was in a panic because she couldn’t reach you and she said something about a lawyer’s letter."

Alix had not received any calls from Meifen this morning or the previous night. Meifen worked in the school administration department however and she figured that she would find her later if need be.

As soon as she entered the classroom, her eyes moved to the place where Professor He had been sitting the previous day. Lo and behold__, just as Alix thought, the doctor had long arrived.

Professor He smiled and waved. Alix sighed and spared the doctor a suffering smile. This was going to be an everyday thing it seemed.

"Good morning," She greeted the students.

"Goodmorning teacher." they responded in a chorus.

Jenny started handing out sheet music and Alix waited patiently until she was done.

"Okay, how many of you are familiar with famous erhu solo, birds singing in the empty mountain?"

A few hands went up, notably and not to be missed were Wangshu and Jia Yi.

She noted that only half of the class had raised their hands. "That is what we will be covering this week, from techniques to adjustments in order to cover it on the violin so, familiarize yourselves with the sheet music in your spare time. This could possibly be on your final exam."

The students paid attention to the sheet music more and not to be missed was professor He peeping into the sheet of a student that was sitting next to her and suddenly taking notes.

"I guess even my sheet music is a problem." Alix thought.

"Or she is making you nervous, trying to throw you off your teaching game. This is the place where you are most confident. If it’s a kingdom, the classroom is your throne. In order to get into your head, she has to make you uncomfortable in your kindgom."

Determined not to be shaken in her own kingdom, Alix looked at the professor with a neutral gaze. "That will never happen." she thought.

"And yet you are already doubting your sheet music." the system mumbled. "I would say that what she is doing is working." The system mumbled.

From that moment on, during the duration of her class which lasted an hour, Alix made it a point not to look in professor’s direction.

When the class ended however, there was no way for her to avoid the professor who followed her all the way to her office.

Alix didn’t say a word but smiled stiffly and sat down.

Professor He didn’t comment on the guarded behavior and she made herself comfortable in the same sofa she had used the last time. "Goodmorning Miss Alix, i hope you are not startled by my presence, i did tell you that we would be meeting often for a period of one year."

Alix nodded. "Mmm, morning doctor, where do you want to begin today?"

Professor He opened her little blue notebook. If the client was willing to talk then she would not dally.

"Has there been any progress on the homework i gave you?"

"The picture thing, no." She replied honestly.

Professor He nodded and made a note.

"Did you receive my gift?" she looked up and asked.

Alix shifted her eyes to the side and thought about the gift. The only thing she had received was a soft dummy and cylindrical soft pillow used for hitting the dummy.

"It’s supposed to help you manage your anger." Professor He informed her. "Whenever you have violent thoughts about Mr. Lin Qianfan then you can enact the acts on the dummy."

"I don’t have anger issues professor." Alix replied. "I have the same anger as everyone else who finds themselves in a situation similar to mine."

"Hmmmm." Professor He leaned back in the sofa and crossed one leg over the other. "You seem to be on edge more than usual. Is something bothering you?"

It amazed Alix how sharp the woman’s eyes were. Even Yura had not noticed that something was off with her that morning. Someone had tried to kill or kidnap her today, so of course she was edge. Her mind kept jumping between that and how she planned to handle the matter. Not that she would be sharing this with the professor.

"Whatever you decide, don’t be soft like your husbands grandparents." her system so helpfully suggested.

She didn’t need to be a genius to figure that one out. The Zhang elders had succeeded in moving their son home and he brought Na Na, the fox along with him. Alix had called it a fox being escorted into the hen house by one of the hens.

"Should we discuss what’s bothering you?" The professor asked.

"I do not wish to talk about it. You can raise any other subject you wish for us to discuss." Alix responded.

Professor He put the blue notebook down and looked at Alix with a very serious look on her face. "I gave you a simple homework task, why haven’t you accomplished it? Did you discuss it with your husband?"

"Yes, we discussed it." She replied.

"And no picture..." Professor He said in a questioning voice.

Alix shrugged and answered slightly testily, "Because we want it to be a natural moment i guess. If i take a random picture where we are faking our smiles then what’s the point?"

Professor He leaned forward and said, "Tell me about your marriage. It’s a big part of who you are, your life now, so it will be a central point of our discussions often. Let’s begin with something small like how you met your husband."

Alix’s eyes moved around and she looked up. This was not something small as the professor thought.

"I can tell that you are thinking about lying to me which you should know defeats the purpose of this exercise. I am your doctor, whatever we discuss is confidential. It will not go beyond the walls of this office." Professor He said.

While her words were reassuring, Alix wasn’t certain that she wanted information out there that hers was a forced marriage.

"If you won’t tell me how you met him then maybe you can tell me what you felt when you met him." Professor He suggested.

Alix thought back to the day she met Caishen. She couldn’t isolate it from the other unfortunate events which she encountered on that day.

She remembered what it was like being beaten up in that bridal dressing room, walking down that aisle in the tight wedding dress and shoes which caused her pain.

Her mind brought back the fear which filled her when she thought about how Zhang Caishen would react once he realized that she was the wrong bride. She had just one word to describe that day and how she felt when she first looked at her husband.

"Terrified."
