Chapter 116: Clingy Song Chengfeng

It would be a lie for Qi Jianyi to say she wasn’t moved by his thoughts. The truth was, the more committed Song Chengfeng became to their relationship, the more Qi Jianyi found herself wanting to indulge in it.

She had made it clear from the start that whatever they had now was only temporary. Even Song Chengfeng had acknowledged it. However, unlike her, he had no idea how long this temporary relationship would last.

For him, it might take a year or two until Qi Jianyi figured out how to return to her world. After all, she had no idea how the original Qi Jianyi had managed to exchange their lives.

But Qi Jianyi had already placed her bets on her body. For some reason, she believed that once this body completely weakened, she would wake up in her real one. Because of this, she saw no reason to delve deeper into the original Qi Jianyi’s memories in search of a clue.

Because, from the very beginning, there were no clues at all. Everything she had seen was about how jealous the original Qi Jianyi was of her life. There was nothing that explained how their lives had been exchanged.

In the end, Qi Jianyi could only continue living in this world, creating countless memories with Song Chengfeng and her family. She truly wanted to go home, but it would be a lie to say she hadn’t grown attached to this unfamiliar place—especially with Song Chengfeng, the ever-clingy guy, by her side.

Unfortunately, no matter how much she liked this world, it wasn’t truly hers. When the time came, she knew she would still have to return home.

Now, when she listened to Song Chengfeng’s ambitious words, knowing that he did what he did for her and for them. Qi Jianyi felt sour. There’s someone in this world that is willing to do everything for her. It was as if, Song Chengfeng found a reason to live, a reason to have expectations in life.

And Qi Jianyi was the center of all reasons. In this world that bored him, only her appearance caught his attention. Making him do things under the pretext that she will like it.

"Thank you..." She uttered sincerely. Those words genuinely came out from the deep of her heart. Song Chengfeng’s repeated selfless action, moved her to tears. "You don’t have to do all this, you know? I like you and that’s enough." she mumbled while wiping her tears.

Song Chengfeng, on the other hand, smiles helplessly seeing her reactions. He put both of his on her cheeks and gently helped her wipe the tears dry. The stoic young master was now becoming more and more gentle.

"Why are you crying? I do this because I want to. I know that you like me, and I am grateful for it. So I want to give you the best of everything. I want you to only have good memories in this world, so you can never forget about me." His voice showed a rare possessiveness and a little bit selfish.

Song Chengfeng has made peace with the fact that he would have to let her go one day. Still, he wants Qi Jianyi to always remember him even after she returns to her real world.

Hearing his domineering voice, Qi Jianyi chuckled and shook her head. "Song Chengfeng, the moment I decided to be in a relationship with you. I already know that I will not be able to get over you for years, or maybe, forever." she confessed softly.

It’s not that their love was too sacred that she could never find herself loving someone else anymore. But, the ending of their relationship would be her biggest heartbreak. Because once again, she has to abandon the person she loves. But this time, she didn’t have a choice.

Loving Song Chengfeng was something easy. It’s not something that she is forced to love, it comes naturally. Thus, forgetting him would be torturous. Because the love that Song Chengfeng patiently and gently created in her heart, it has taken roots very deeply.

Though she can live without him. It doesn’t mean she can forget him.

"Good," hearing her confession, Song Chengfeng couldn’t hold back his smile. "Don’t ever forget me, Jianyi. There’s no man better than me in this world nor your world. I will never forget you too..." he continued. His words carry a silent pride in it.

Qi Jianyi hit his chest lightly and rolled her eyes. She was all serious here and there he was, talking about how powerful he is.

"Can you be serious?" she glared.

"I am serious." He replied innocently.

"I don’t want to talk to you anymore." In the end, she relented and pushed him away. Anyway, she chose this man so she has to live with his shamelessness.

Qi Jianyi refused to talk to him, but does it matter? Song Chengfeng doesn’t care at all. If she doesn’t want to talk, then he can talk! He has mastered the art of coquettishness.

He rested his head on her shoulder and started complaining about his busy life. "I think catching criminals is easier than doing business..." he softly mumbled.

"How can it be the same?" Qi Jianyi frowned at his words. "When you do missions, your life’s at stake and when you do business, it’s your money that is at stake. Though money is important, is it as important as your life?"

Song Chengfeng shook his head, "of course, my life is more important. If I die, how can I meet you?" he replied cheekily.

"Pretentious!" Qi Jianyi rolled her eyes in disdain. "Anyway, what kind of business are you doing?" she finally remembered to ask.

"It’s a secret." For once, Song Chengfeng answered mysteriously. The more he refused to answer, the more curious Qi Jianyi became. After all, he almost never hides anything from her. This was the first time.

"When can I finally know about it?" She didn’t force him to say. Song Chengfeng didn’t lie to her, he was just obviously hiding the answer. Not to mention that she knew he must have done that to surprise her later.

"Soon, I promise." Song Chengfeng answered truthfully, flashing a smile at her.

"Okay, whatever." Qi Jianyi nodded her head and pushed him away when she heard a knock from the door. The waiter is coming in to deliver their food.

Song Chengfeng had no choice but to pitifully return to his seat and sat opposite his lover. He really wants to act clingy and eat side by side with Qi Jianyi. Unfortunately for him, Qi Jianyi doesn’t like it. She likes to talk face to face instead.

As a virtuous boyfriend, what else can Song Chengfeng say instead of obeying her words?

"How’s your manuscript going?" He asked as soon as the waiter left the room.

Qi Jianyi took a sip of the chicken soup before replying, "Zeqing said he would handle everything. He also ensures me that my work will become a hit once it is released."

"Has he chosen the director?" Song Chengfeng put a piece of braised meat on her bowl and Qi Jianyi did not shy away and took a bite.

"He did. It’s Director Tang. I guess they are currently having a meeting right now." she glanced at him and continued, "I asked Zeqing to open two rooms for an audition later, one for the production team, one for me alone. I want to choose the actors myself. And I will not participate in anything else other than that."

Song Chengfeng nodded his head in understanding. He eats for a while before suggesting himself. "Do you want me to accompany you when the time comes?"

"Accompany me where? To the audition?" she asked, confused.

"Yes," he nodded, confidently. "I’ve watched countless dramas over the past few months. I can help you make decisions."

"Chengfeng, just be honest and say you want to be by my side." Qi Jianyi rolled her eyes at his antics. He tries to hide his clingy attitude but every time, he fails.

Hearing the disdain in her tone, he wasn’t offended at all. Instead, Song Chengfeng looked at her with pitiful eyes. As if, if she dares to say no, he would really act like an abandoned puppy.

"Okay, okay. When the time comes, I’ll bring you with me." In the end, as expected, she lost.

Song Chengfeng’s face brightened instantly, but before he could say anything, Qi Jianyi added, "Just so you know, the actors won’t see me during the audition."

His expression turned curious. "What do you mean?" freewebnøvel_com

"I asked my cousin to set up a one way glass room later. So, only we can see them but they can’t see us." She briefly explained.

"Why?"

"Because I don’t want to be known." Regarding the reason behind hiding her identity, Qi Jianyi doesn’t want to explain too much.

Anyway, it’s impossible for her to reveal herself. She can write, but can the original Qi Jianyi write?

Not to mention that she refused to gain fame for the original Qi Jianyi. Call her petty or whatever, who asked that person to steal her life? There’s no way Qi Jianyi would create a career for her.
