Chapter 143: I finally found you, Qi Jianyi

While everyone was panicking to find Qi Jianyi and save her. Qi Jianyi, on the other hand, opened her eyes. She was lying on the floor as if she had been sleeping for a long time. She opened her eyes and frowned.

She still vividly remembers the crash between her car and the tree a few seconds ago. But the pain she had mentally prepared for did not come because her consciousness had slipped away first.

However, Qi Jianyi thought she would wake up in her real body. But, what greeted her was not the familiar bedroom she grew up with but a white ceiling.

No. Not only the ceiling was white. Her whole surroundings were white. There’s nothing around her. No sound at all. Not even a glimpse of the sky. It was as if she was trapped in a room without a window or door.

Though Qi Jianyi was slightly nervous by the sudden change of scenery, especially one she had not thought of, she took a deep breath and managed to calm down. She rubbed her chest with a surprise look on her face.

Clearly, her chest hurts so much to the point of making her lose control. But now, she doesn’t feel any pain. It was like a knife that has repeatedly stabbed her heart has been pulled out. She felt relieved.

"What is this place?" Qi Jianyi whispered softly. She gently brushed her hair and stood up from the floor.

"Am I really dead?"

For a moment, Qi Jianyi couldn’t find a valid answer. She thought she would go back to her world. But, did she miscalculate something?

Her eyes keep wandering around. Probably looking for a way out, or something different than the bright white around her. Part of her refused to believe that she really died.

After all, she had endured all the pain for months. And all of it just for her to die? Who could accept it?

Though her mind was racing, thinking about the reason she was trapped in this endless room, Qi Jianyi didn’t stop walking.

She had figured out that apparently this place was very big. She had walked for a while and still hasn’t reached the end of it.

Qi Jianyi doesn’t remember how far she had walked. But she could feel her legs become sore and her breath stagnated. Still, she didn’t see anything.

In the end, out of breath, Qi Jianyi sat down. What’s the use of walking around when there’s nothing to see?

She wiped the sweat on her forehead and closed her eyes. A figure of someone flashed in her mind. She wondered, how would Song Chengfeng handle her departure? Will he be fine? Will he cry for her?

Then, she shook her head. She hoped Song Chengfeng could accept her ’death’ calmly. Though the way they parted with each other was not one Qi Jianyi wished for. But there’s nothing she could do.

Even Qi Jianyi herself was caught off guard by the pain. Not to mention that everything happened while she was driving. The unbearable pain intensified because she was panicked.

She had imagined countless possibilities on how she would leave that world. But, dying while driving was not in her imaginations. She let out a heavy sigh. Alas, fate was really cruel.

Not only did it have to take Qi Jianyi away while she was driving, fate also wrote that Song Chengfeng would witness everything.

"Song Chengfeng, please live well." Qi Jianyi softly wished.

While she was immersing herself in her thoughts. A sudden sound of a footstep instantly caught her attention. She was sitting on the floor and assumed that there’s no one around her. But now, there’s a footstep coming from behind.

Noticing that someone was coming, Qi Jianyi quickly stood up. She turned back to look at the extra human in this endless room.

The moment Qi Jianyi turned back, her eyes lay on a figure that was not too far from her. She couldn’t see that person clearly and narrowed her eyes.

The figure, as if noticing Qi Jianyi’s presence, also quickened her pace. But as soon as she could see Qi Jianyi’s face, she stopped. Her eyes widened in surprise.

A flash of bewilderment also appeared on Qi Jianyi’s face when she saw the person who had just arrived.

That person, a woman who looks exactly like her. It was not an eight or nine point similar, but the exact copy of her. It was like meeting a long lost twin.

The only difference was, there’s not nostalgic feelings or happiness. Just pure confusion and bewilderment. The person who looked like Qi Jianyi was confused, meanwhile Qi Jianyi couldn’t hide her shock.

"Who are you?" Both of them asked at the same time. Their voices were also similar. The expression they made after asking the questions mirrored each other.

If Qi Jianyi didn’t know better, she would have thought she was facing a mirror.

"I am Qi Jianyi." Qi Jianyi replied shortly. She watched how the person before her gasped when she heard the name.

As if all the puzzles fell into its place, Qi Jianyi raised her brows and sharply asked. "Are you, perhaps, the young miss of the Qi family, Qi Jianyi?"

Hearing her question, the woman who stood not far clenching her fist. She didn’t answer rashly but only stared at Qi Jianyi for a while before slowly nodding her head.

Yes. The woman that was facing Qi Jianyi right now was the real Miss Qi. She was the original Qi Jianyi who have exchanged their lives.

Qi Jianyi looked stunned by her answer. But then, she quickly frowned. She took a step forward, walking towards the real Miss Qi.

"I finally found you, Qi Jianyi." Qi Jianyi uttered, her voice was light but a hint of coldness could be heard. She remained silent for a moment before she continued.

"So it’s you who stole my life?" She asked. But this time, her tone was slightly lowered with a hint of hatred and anger.

Seeing Qi Jianyi walking towards her, Miss Qi couldn’t help but take a step back. Her expression showed the panic surged within her.

"How..." She mumbled. "How did you find me?"

Miss Qi was surprised. A complete shock that Qi Jianyi could find her. No, she had never thought that there would be a day where she and Qi Jianyi would meet each other.

"How did you do that?" Qi Jianyi, on the other hand, ignored Miss Qi’s question. She had something more important to ask. Something that has been running through her mind from the very day she realised that her life has been stolen.

"What...?" Miss Qi looked at Qi Jianyi with confusion. Not fully understanding her question.

"How did you exchange our lives? How did you know the future that would unfold in your world? That novel you wrote, how did it suddenly appear in my world? How did you do it, Qi Jianyi?" There’s so many unanswered questions in Qi Jianyi’s mind and only now could she finally find the answers.

Miss Qi, bombarded by questions, gulped nervously. At the moment, the expressions between them were too varied. Qi Jianyi’s face showed nothing but absolute calmness. Although her questions were far from calm. Meanwhile there was a crack of emotion visibly on Miss Qi’s face.

She, who always had a cold expression before, couldn’t maintain herself in the presence of Qi Jianyi. The person whose life she had longed for.

"Answer me!" Qi Jianyi slightly raised her voice. Her eyes reddened when she thinks back to the time she spent in that unfamiliar world. Though everything was fine, it still doesn’t mean that Qi Jianyi didn’t feel any grievances. After all, her life was stolen.

Miss Qi jerked back at Qi Jianyi’s words. She took a deep breath, forcing herself to calm down before slowly making eye contact with Qi Jianyi.

"You wrote it yourself, Qi Jianyi." Miss Qi said. Her answer doesn’t fulfil Qi Jianyi’s question, instead making it more confusing.

Before Qi Jianyi could ask more, Miss Qi beat her to it and explained, "Just like how I can dream of you, you can also dream of me..." Her words trailed off for a long while before she continued.

"I don’t know why but it seems that unlike me who could remember the dream vividly. You, on the other hand, always forget about it as soon as you wake up." Qi Jianyi was driven speechless by Miss Qi’s words.

Apparently, she could also see Miss Qi’s life in her dreams?

"And..." Miss Qi looked straight into Qi Jianyi’s eyes and softly muttered. "You could see the dream of my future."

Qi Jianyi’s eyes widened by this sudden news. She took a step back while in shock.

"How...?" Qi Jianyi asked. Unfortunately, she was doomed to be disappointed.

Miss Qi shook her head, her expression filled with uncertainty.

"I don’t know how it happened either."

She paused for a moment, as if searching for the right words, before continuing.

"I only know that you somehow gained the ability to see the future of my world. It started after you faced backlash from your fans. I remember... you were crying that night. You cried yourself to sleep." Her voice softened, carrying a hint of sympathy.

"But when you woke up... something changed. You immediately opened your laptop and started typing. I was curious, so I took a look at what you were writing. And at that moment... I realized."

She exhaled a deep, weary sigh, her gaze distant.

"You had dreamed of my future."
