This Giant Dragon is So Powerful!-Chapter 101 - 94: Gray-haired Jackal Wolfman
After Heloise’s defeat, the next battle was ready to begin.
On one side was the young dragon Brook, with a biological level of Tier Four High, and a length just over five meters.
On the other side was the Big Goblin ’Guli’, with a biological level of Tier Five Initial, standing at 3.2 meters tall. He possessed a Giant Strength Talent that was uncommon for Big Goblins.
This battle lasted longer and was more drawn-out than the previous one. About twenty minutes later, Brook failed to dodge and was caught by ’Guli’ by the dragon tail. Several heavy slams left Brook dizzy, with broken dragon scales, defeated on the spot.
However, ’Guli’ didn’t have it easy either; a large area of his body was corroded from Acidic Dragon Breath, leaving him bloody and exposing deep bones, quite shocking to see.
"The winner is Guli!" the Kobold Shi Qiang announced the result, and immediately, two monster warriors carried both ’Guli’ and Brook off the field, setting them aside.
Then the third match began, featuring a Giant Demon and a Big Goblin....
Above the tribe, Udi, who had used the Invisibility Technique to conceal himself, was watching the bouts with keen interest.
After a while, Udi’s figure vanished from there and returned to the Mountain Wall Dragon Nest.
Several days later.
The several hundred meters high Mountain Wall Dragon Nest was fitted with a stairway built by the Kobolds, with an incline exceeding seventy degrees toward the ground.
A humanoid shadow leaped nimbly up the stairs, ascending several tens of meters in the blink of an eye, and quickly stood before the Dragon Nest cave.
Shiji immediately saw the two Dragon-blooded Maids guarding the entrance of the cave. Stepping forward, he said in a deep voice,
"I have a report for the Master."
"Please wait a moment," the Dragon-blooded Maid said politely. Having been here for nearly half a year, they had already learned and remembered the strength and status of the Master’s prominent followers.
This formidable Kobold, standing at 2.8 meters, was among the most powerful and high-ranking followers under the Master. Even though we, the Dragon-blooded Maids, who are closely serving and favored by the Master, do not hold as high a place in the Master’s esteem as he does.
Shiji waited patiently for a moment, and soon a tall Dragon-blooded Maid emerged from the cave.
"The Master will see you now," Maid Chief Sovia said to Shiji.
Shiji nodded and followed her into the cave.
The cave, having been expanded, was now thirty meters high, nearly a hundred meters wide, and extended a thousand meters deep.
The interior space was truly vast.
The walls were adorned with glowing blue phosphorescent stones, thousands of various sizes, whose faint blue glow dispelled the cave’s dim environment, giving it a dreamlike quality.
Following Maid Chief Sovia, Shiji took a brief look around this surrounding, as it was his first entry into the Dragon Nest. After all, it had only been half a year since they relocated to the Mountain Stream Territory.
After walking for a while, the view broadened. Before him was an over-hundred-meter diameter piece of blue stone sculpted like a Thorn Throne.
Resting in the Thorn Throne was a Black Giant Dragon, beside which was a group of Dragon-blooded Maids busily preparing a barbecue.
At that moment, the Dragon-blooded Maids had just finished roasting a demon cow over five meters long. Two Dragon-blooded Maids, one on each side, lifted the five or six-ton roasted cow with some effort and brought it to the Abyss-like giant mouth of the Black Dragon.
Udi opened his dragon mouth, consuming half of the roast cow in one bite, chewing and crushing the bones before swallowing, then took another bite to finish the other half. After eating, he turned to Shiji standing by.
"Speak, what’s the matter?" Udi lazily inquired, not overly concerned about Shiji’s purpose.
For if it were something of utmost importance, Shiji would surely have reported through a spiritual connection swiftly.
"Master, a few days ago, a pack of Jackal Wolfmen intruded into our territory. After some skirmishes, we found that this pack’s strength is not insignificant, led by a Jackal Wolf Leader who is a High-level Professional."
"If it’s just a High-level Professional, shouldn’t you be able to handle it?" Udi frowned.
Currently, Udi had four high-level combat powers under his command, ranked from high to low: the Griffin, the Mother Crane, the High-level Mage Roy, and Mondo, who had recently entered the high level. As for Shiji and Kadan, they were still short of some accumulation, remaining stuck at Tier Nine High.
Except for Roy, who was developing external forces in the Human Realm and unable to assist, the other three were all at his disposal.
Could it be that the Jackal Wolf Leader is particularly powerful?
"Master, we can indeed handle them, but I am here to ask if you wish to have them subdued. If so, we will aim to capture the leader alive, even at the cost of more casualties. If not, we shall eradicate them without mercy," Shiji explained further.
So that’s the case. Glancing at Shiji, Udi understood the Chief Steward’s intention perfectly. 𝒇𝓻𝓮𝓮𝙬𝙚𝒃𝒏𝓸𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝓬𝓸𝒎
Since Shiji reported this, he certainly hoped the Master would subdue the Jackal Wolfmen, as Shiji was keen on expanding the Dragon Nest Influence to make it stronger.
Yet, as a servant, he couldn’t ask the Master outright to act according to his own ideas, hence his indirect request for Udi’s opinion.
"So it seems there’s something unique about this Jackal Wolfman pack," Udi remarked with a smile.
Shiji nodded respectfully, "You guessed correctly, Master. Among them, there is an outstanding Warg Rider Knight unit, and I suspect this Jackal Wolfman pack possesses a profession inherited from the Jackal Wolfman race."
An inherited profession is a race’s traditional vocation, not necessarily stronger than common professions but certainly among the most suitable for that race.
Take the Wild Dwarves’ Sub-dragon Knight Profession as an example; it is one of their inherited professions. If a Wild Dwarf undergoes its cultivation, their combat performance is exceptionally outstanding. However, if humans or other similar beings attempt it, they are likely unable to cultivate it due to different physical structures.
"If that’s the case, it is indeed worth subduing," Udi concluded, his eyes showing a hint of interest.
"You may proceed with your plan, and to prevent any accidents, I shall intervene personally at that time."
"Yes," Shiji responded respectfully before backing away.
.....
Three days later.
The sun was bright in the sky.
Gray shadows flitted through the forest; upon closer inspection, these were Gray-haired Jackal Wolfmen, each averaging 2.2 meters tall with fearsome hound-like facial features. They crouched slightly, lean and muscled, mostly clad in iron armor, wielding long-handled iron axes in one hand, and small iron shields in the other, with green eyes flickering savagely.
Gray-haired Jackal Wolfmen, a subspecies of Jackal Wolfman, typically inhabit temperate plains. Adult individuals can reach Level 2, boasting human-like intelligence, organizational skills, and highly developed senses, with Dark Vision allowing them to move freely at night. Talented individuals among them possess a Frenzy Ability.
Among various beast groups in the wild, these Gray-haired Jackal Wolfmen were surely mid-tier, viewing Kobolds and goblins as mere trash, often using them for cruel amusement.
Today, however, those same Gray-haired Jackal Wolfmen found themselves being pursued by those they once scorned, with roles completely reversed.
"Damn it, what’s up with these goblins and Kobolds?!"
The fleeing Gray-haired Jackal Wolfmen were panicked, recalling the burly, monster-like goblins and Kobolds they encountered, even their grotesque hound-like faces trembled.
Originally sent by their leader to hunt, they now found not only was the prey elusive, but their lives were also at stake.
Pursued relentlessly, they had already seen seven or eight of their kin captured.
Elsewhere in the forest, Jackal Wolfman units were similarly being hunted and captured.
The Monster Warriors from the Dragon Nest Influence were relatively merciful toward these Jackal Wolfmen, capturing where possible, and only killing when necessary.
Meanwhile, in another section of the forest seven or eight kilometers away, a fierce battle was underway.
In the sky, a giant White Crane with a wingspan of twenty meters continuously unleashed Wind Blades from its mouth.
On the ground, akin to a Giant, a Forest Giant Demon roared and chased a Jackal Wolfman mounted on a Silver Warg Mount, wielding a newly forged, terrifying five or six meters long Wolf Fang Club, shaking the ground with every strike.
Massive ancient forest trees crashed down one after another, raising clouds of dust.
