This Giant Dragon is So Powerful!-Chapter 107 - 1: Loyalty, Experimentation, Training, and Predation
Wit and the others left with a smile on their faces.
What was their goal for spending so much wealth, energy, and casualties on this trip?
Was it to offer tribute? To see the Black Dragon?
Indeed it was, but the ultimate core demand was actually Dragon Blood.
The strength enhancement in Wit, Wilson, and the core members of the Higlind family who were transformed by Dragon Blood over the past year has been astonishing.
Human nature is greedy. Having witnessed such a power that can enhance one’s potential and lifespan, and improve strength just by eating—the better and more nutritious the food, the faster the power boosts, and seemingly without side effects, at least none visible at the moment—how could they resist?
Udi naturally understood the thoughts of these people, which is why he was too lazy to summon them, as a summons would only involve some shallow compliments, purely a waste of time. Isn’t it better to have a massage service from the Dragon-blooded Maids during this time?
The large and spacious interior of the Mountain Wall Dragon Nest.
Sofia returned to report.
Udi glanced at his Maid Chief and noticed she seemed unhappy, curiously asking, "You’re unhappy?"
Sofia’s face changed, and she hurriedly shook her head to deny it, her expression somewhat flustered and fearful.
"I don’t like my followers to lie to me." Udi said while slowly chewing a roasted giant python prepared by two Dragon-blooded Maids, speaking in a flat tone.
With a thud, Sofia knelt before the Black Dragon, no longer daring to hide her thoughts and spoke them out loud,
"Those humans are evidently not loyal to the Master, so why does Master reward them with so much Dragon Blood...." 𝓯𝓻𝒆𝙚𝒘𝓮𝙗𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝒍.𝙘𝓸𝙢
Udi chewed and swallowed the python’s tail into his abdomen, squinted his eyes in satisfaction, and after hearing Sofia’s answer, chuckled and said, "Loyalty? What would I want with that? Can I eat it or gain more power from it?"
"I just need to know that the Higlind family is now under my control, they have needs from me, and they can create a lot of profit for me, and that’s enough."
Sofia frowned as she tried to understand the meaning behind her master’s words, gradually coming to a realization.
She wasn’t stupid, but her upbringing, environment, and age had limited her understanding. Now, after Udi’s blunt explanation, she was enlightened and understood the reason behind her master’s actions.
"Master, Sofia was too ignorant."
"Ignorance is fine, as long as you can improve," Udi replied with a grin.
Sofia’s anger towards the humans’ attitude indicated that she had already stood by Udi, considering his interests.
This was loyalty, which was a good thing, and Udi was not displeased.
Although Udi said that loyalty was useless to him, even if it was deemed useless, without it, Udi would just treat them purely as tools; he wouldn’t care how many of those kinds of tools died since there were plenty more available outside.
However, followers like Shiji and Mondo, who were completely loyal to him from the depths of their hearts, Udi would not hesitate to reward, and would not want them to just die away in danger; he would do his best to protect them.
"Alright, it’s time to see the slaves that have been delivered." Udi rose from the Thorn Stone Throne, stretched his enormous Dragon Body, floated out of the nest, then with a beat of his Dragon Wings, vanished swiftly into the sky.
A while later, Udi descended onto the Mountain Stream Territory, in front of a large group of iron cages.
The black cloth over the cages had been lifted and discarded by the Monster Warriors, so the slaves inside were exposed to Udi’s view.
Udi glanced over and found these slaves, whether humans or Harpies, were all asleep.
Sensing the faint magic power emanating from the cages, Udi understood.
These were enchanted iron cages, with a simple enchantment that caused creatures within to fall into a sleep state. This enchantment was quite feeble, as beings with slightly greater strength could easily shake off its effects.
Nevertheless, in these slaves, the most formidable Harpies were at Level 1-2 in Biological Level, needless to say about the human slaves, among more than a hundred, only one had reached Level 1 while the rest were all Level 0.
But, putting aside the strength factor, the external appearance conditions of these 158 slaves was still quite good.
Udi gave a cursory glance and was rather satisfied.
"This brings an air force."
The air force—specifically referring to the thirty-six harpies.
Harpies, as their name suggests, this race only had females. They had long, beautiful brown hair, their legs were eagle claws, their hands were wings, and their energetic, mostly bare bodies had skin exposed with only crucial parts covered by feathers.
Harpies, as a species, were not particularly strong in adulthood, with a general Biological Level at Tier One High, only relatively exceptional individuals could reach Level 2, though their mobility was very strong, it wasn’t at all a problem for them to fly several hundred kilometers a day, and given that they often made their nests in high mountain cliffs, ordinary human adventurers found it very difficult to capture them.
Especially as many wild harpy tribes, if there were no sufficiently powerful harpy leaders within the tribe, they would usually depend on strong flying demons, in exchange for providing food, grooming feathers, caring for flying demon hatchlings, and so forth, for the protection of the powerful flying demons.
Recalling the information about harpies from the Dragon’s Legacy, Udi grinned.
Giant Dragons could count as flying demons, and of the top tier at that.
