Chapter 151 -138 The Unsolved Giant Dragon

Geronimo felt an insatiable hunger he couldn’t suppress.

It was as if there was an everlasting black hole inside his body, relentlessly drawing out his life force, which could only be temporarily alleviated by devouring more blood and flesh.

He could no longer care about the arrows Katherine shot at him, but only thought about swallowing all the demons into his belly.

However, Katherine wouldn’t miss this chance, circling continuously on her giant eagle, the bow and arrows in her hands never stopping.

Arrows containing starlight pierced one after another into Geronimo’s body, quickly turning the giant dragon into a porcupine.

Although the scene was brutal, the effects seemed lacking; Geronimo’s body was still expanding, the tiny arrows becoming more and more insignificant, and many arrows were squeezed out by the regenerating flesh.

Katherine also felt that something was wrong; she truly hadn’t held back at all, with every arrow shot with all her might.

The longbow in her hands was one of the divine artifacts of the Elf Tribe, capable of imbuing the shot arrows with effects such as armor penetration, acceleration, and splitting, essentially making one person equal to a legion of archers. Yet, these magic arrows, potent enough to instantaneously kill a Balor Flame Demon, couldn’t exhibit their intended power.

Amberser came to Katherine’s side and said to her, “Save some energy, something is wrong with this dragon.”

As a full-time Mage, Amberser was more sensitive to magic than Katherine. Not only was this dragon, which was gorging on demons, devouring their blood and flesh, but it seemed to be consuming the magic in the surroundings as well.

The magic arrows from Katherine fell on the giant dragon, where apart from some damage being blocked by the scales on the dragon’s surface, a lot of magic was absorbed by the flesh of the dragon.

Amberser said, “This looks a bit like the magic-breaking weapons of your Elf Tribe; any magic that touches the dragon’s body is forcibly broken down before being absorbed by the dragon.”

“Magic-Breaking Weapon? How is it possible to turn a living creature into a weapon? This is a dragon, not a Feline Demon-Mallow?”

Katherine found this incredible, as the magic array inscribed on magic-breaking weapons was designed by imitating the traits of monstrous creatures like the Feline Demon-Mallow, enabling weapons to freely alter their internal structure. To replicate that on a living being would mean transforming it into a Feline Demon-Mallow?

“I don’t know either, but this dragon is obviously abnormal. I suspect that this thing wasn’t a dragon at all to begin with, but was transformed by someone,” Amberser’s first reaction was that of a control experiment product went awry from some mad Alchemist.

Without waiting for Amberser to think of a way to deal with the creature, the giant dragon, as if tired of the taste of demon flesh, raised its head and let out a roar towards Amberser and Katherine.

The creature had grown several sizes larger than before, truly having become an enormous beast, and it could probably swallow Amberser whole in one bite.

Yet for such a massive body, its speed was astonishing. Creating a windstorm with a flap of its wings, the terrifying giant dragon had already charged in front of the two.

The dragon’s mouth opened, and a torrent of flames spewed out from deep within its throat.

Amberser pushed Katherine away with one hand and simultaneously summoned the Golden Throne, then wrapped himself in a magic shield.

It wasn’t that he couldn’t dodge; Amberser was simply looking for an opening.

As the dragon’s breath began to fade after a few seconds, Amberser seized the opportunity to launch a disintegration spell into the still-gaping mouth of the giant dragon.

The ominous dark green magical light, passing through the fading hot breath of the dragon, fell into the mouth of the giant dragon.

Lacking the protection of dragon scales, the disintegration spell directly blasted the mouth of the giant beast into mush, and Amberser could even see a large hole blasted into its neck.

“Its innards don’t have magic resistance!”

Amberser excitedly shared his discovery with Katherine, but he was shocked to see the wound he had just managed to create was rapidly regenerating.

Amberser angrily said, “This is outrageous! Which madman created this monster?”

The combination of strong magic resistance and fast regenerative abilities, plus a body that grew ever larger with eating, given enough time, wouldn’t the entire continent be devoured?

Therefore, mad scientists are more dangerous than any other type of madman.

Amberser tried again to cast spells using the power of the Golden Throne, only to find that the dragon really was “tough.” All the attack spells that hit it had their effects largely nullified, and the little damage that remained couldn’t breach its scales.

Katherine was equally out of ideas, and she and Amberser could only keep dodging the giant dragon’s attacks, completely on the defensive.

The powers of the Golden Throne and the Dice of Destiny lost their significance. The Golden Throne could significantly enhance the effects of spells, but it could not negate magical immunity; the Dice of Destiny ensured that Amberser’s spells always hit, but with the damage significantly reduced, a hit was hardly effective.

Acting purely on instinct, the giant dragon chased after Amberser, trying to bite him for a while but to no avail, then went back to the ground and began devouring the demons pouring out from the Gates of Hell.

Once it started eating again, its body began to swell anew.

Amberser and Katherine discovered that as the giant dragon’s body grew larger, its defenses also became stronger. The two Legendary beings joined forces, but they couldn’t even break through the dragon scales.

“What do we do now?” Katherine frowned, having never seen such a creature. To let it continue eating would be to invite the unknown.

He himself could turn and leave, but if this monster invades the Silvermoon Tribunal, the Elf Tribe would likely suffer heavy casualties.

Amberser thought the same, better to eliminate the monster now, otherwise his castle would be the first to suffer.

Was it that the Goddess of Fate wanted to play a joke on this scumbag? Just as he thought this, the Giant Dragon suddenly gave up on the Demons on the ground and flew towards Amberser’s castle.

Startled, Amberser hurriedly chased after it. If the monster collided with his castle, then his home would be gone.

Dozens of Dice of Destiny were thrown, the Giant Dragon’s wings twitched, and with a snap, they dislocated.

Amberser made the minuscule chance of dislocation a reality, and the humongous creature looked set to plummet, but the dislocated wing miraculously recovered in the blink of an eye.

Amberser watched, speechless. This regenerative ability was simply unsolvable, unless he could kill the Giant Dragon in one blow.

After recovering, the Giant Dragon didn’t pursue Amberser but headed straight for his castle; the distance was too short, and in no time at all, the castle was right before Amberser’s eyes.

Amberser quickly controlled the castle’s magic defense system to activate a huge Magic Shield.

The Giant Dragon slammed into it and shattered the colossal Magic Shield into bits.

The monster was like a living Magic-Breaking Weapon; any magic it touched would be destabilized and nullified.

Fortunately, the collision slowed down the Giant Dragon, forcing it to land on the ground.

But before the Giant Dragon could launch another attack, a large number of Alien Skeletons burst out from Amberser’s castle and pounced at the Giant Dragon.

The mantis-form Alien Skeletons, swarming the prey like termites, densely crawled over the Giant Dragon, using their scythe-like blades to frantically slash, creating showers of sparks on the Dragon Scales. It looked like a collective welding operation, covering the Giant Dragon with sparks and electricity.

However, such attacks were meaningless, as the Alien Skeletons couldn’t breach the Dragon Scales’ defense; instead, a simple roll from the Giant Dragon crushed a majority of the Alien Skeletons.

Apart from the Alien Skeletons, several Skeleton Tanks were summoned by Amberser.

Last time the Paladins raided his home, they had dismantled his Skeleton Tanks. Luckily, he had a personal space that could adjust time and quickly replenished by Amberser.

Skeleton Tanks were also considered behemoths, but they paled in comparison with the Giant Dragon; their barrels weren’t even as thick as the Dragon’s teeth.

Katherine followed Amberser, and seeing these strange Skeletons, she exclaimed in surprise, “What are these? Your Skeletons look so weird.”

Amberser, who had no time to explain, ordered all the Skeleton Tanks to open fire.

The bone projectiles all hit their mark, focusing on the Giant Dragon’s head, causing its fearsome head to jerk up.

Most of the bone shards couldn’t penetrate the Dragon Scales’ defense, but since the bone fragments were so dense, quite a few landed on the softer parts, creating some wounds.

The Bone Proliferation Virus began to take effect, Bone Coral sprouting from the corners of the Giant Dragon’s eyes and mouth, quickly enveloping the Dragon’s head.

“What a terrifying weapon!”

Katherine watched, horrified. She had never seen such a malicious weapon, bone spurs that grew wildly upon contacting blood. If it were to fall on the Elves, the consequences would be disastrous. She was relieved that she had formed an alliance with Amberser because facing such a dreadful weapon on the battlefield would mean heavy losses for the Elf Tribe.

But the usually effective Bone Proliferation Virus didn’t work well on the Giant Dragon.

Even though its head was wrapped in Bone Coral, the beast only let out agonizing roars and furiously slammed its head against the ground. Most of the Bone Coral was smashed, and even with the gruesome wounds on its head, its strong healing ability forcibly expelled the constantly growing bones.

Amberser was not at all surprised; this monster was always so preposterous.

The injury made the Giant Dragon even more ferocious as it opened its mouth, voraciously devouring everything.

It did not distinguish between bone splinters or soil and pebbles; the Giant Dragon bit at everything and swallowed it whole.

Amberser’s Skeleton Troops were brutally crushed, the feeble Skeletons useless against this monster. The Elves inside the castle, having heard the news, rushed to help, but their arrows and magic failed to inflict any harm.

Katherine had to loudly remind them to retreat, for staying here would only lead to meaningless sacrifice.

Running away was not difficult, for the Giant Dragon, lacking reason, couldn’t stop the Elves from teleporting away, and Amberser had already arranged escape routes inside the castle. Probably Isabel and the others had already left as well.

But Amberser’s castle was not moveable.

Watching the rampaging Giant Dragon, Amberser fell into deep thought; this scene seemed familiar.

Then, Katherine flew over to Amberser and said, “This monster, it seems to be raging like a Magic Addiction outbreak.”
