Chapter 1123: 1123 Divine Game: Quiet Mountain 6

The other players in the battlefield chat channel immediately understood what BS Rita meant, and SmokeTune was no exception.

Everyone had expected they’d have to wait a while, but just a few minutes later, an answer came.

[BS SmokeTune]: She doesn’t know them, I’m sure of it. She doesn’t lie or pretend, and she even turned the tables on me, stabbing me a few times, asking who these two people were. I kind of regret letting her know I know you. I guess, just like with BeaconCicada, they’re all curious about their counterparts in Star Sea.

[BS Rita]: Then I suggest you avoid revealing that you’re related to Star Sea’s DawnCicada. Their relationship is complicated. Just now, BeaconCicada threatened me, saying I should behave, or she’d send Quiet Mountain’s version of me to deal with me. She even said I’d beg her for help. I admit, in that moment, I was terrified... I was afraid I’d start laughing.

[BS SmokeTune]: Oh??? Is that so? The Cicada here is that cute? Threatening people like that... but she was always cute when she was little.

[DawnCicada]: Did you two drink too much? Also, it’s the first time I’ve heard you say so much.

[BS Mistblade]: What’s the timing here?!

[Isolated Isle Lightchaser]: Looks like you’re not in a rush either. I’ll head over later. I found a lead here.

[Isolated Isle Lightchaser]: There’s something in Quiet Mountain called the Apostles of the Gods. They don’t appear according to any specific pattern, but whenever one does show up, it’s announced globally. Each one holds a high position and enjoys many privileges. However, some of them disappear quietly without anyone noticing, which has become the norm.

[BS Rita]: Are you talking about me and BeaconCicada here?

[Isolated Isle Lightchaser]: I haven’t found the complete list of the Apostles of the Gods or their numbers yet, but it’s highly likely that you two are among them.

[DawnCicada]: Verdant Verdant Whisper · Windrush. Is she dead? Where did you find the statue?

[BS Rita]: She’s still alive. She just moved into the cell next door.

[BS SmokeTune]: A player has arrived next door to me too. It’s BS Pine Bloom. Quiet Mountain, are you actively collecting BS players?

Before arriving in Quiet Mountain, Pine Bloom never imagined she’d be captured so quickly, let alone by BS Rita.

Currently, her hands were suspended on a torture rack, her wings pierced by iron hooks. All her skills were sealed, her mana drained, and all her space equipment, weapons, and items had been confiscated.

Not far from her, a person sat in a chair.

She was lazily reclining on a wide chair, her legs crossed, the polished toes of her shining lock-armored boots pointing up slightly. She wore a tight-fitting black soft armor, dull and ascetic, with the only color contrast coming from two bright red gem earrings.

Her left arm was extended and straight, holding a long blade resting on the floor, while her right elbow propped up on the armrest of the chair. Her slender fingers curled slightly, pressing against her cheek, the knuckles lightly brushing the silver faceplate that covered the lower half of her face.

Her black hair, slightly wavy, was tied into a high ponytail, but even though she had tied it up, the ends of her hair nearly reached the floor as she sat. Above the silver faceplate, her emotionless black eyes stared directly at Pine Bloom.

Just as BS SmokeTune had said, it was her, but it wasn’t.

She looked identical, but her aura was worlds apart.

At least, Pine Bloom had never seen such a detached expression on the Uncharted Star Sea’s BS Rita.

Pine Bloom, like SmokeTune, had always thought that Star Sea’s BS Rita, no matter how angry, was harmless... anyone could easily see the soft undercurrent of her character.

She was difficult to approach but easy to understand.

She wouldn’t trust you, nor would she welcome your approach, but she didn’t react violently. She would observe quietly.

If you hurt her, you’d feel her vengeance, but it wasn’t brutal. She didn’t enjoy tormenting others. Her favorite way to retaliate was to take your power away.

At least, that’s how the BS Rita Pine Bloom knew had been.

But the Quiet Mountain version of BS Rita...

The hand holding the blade slightly raised, and in an instant, the chains piercing Pine Bloom’s wings began to tighten. Several chains, tipped with bone spikes, shot out from nowhere and bound her, squeezing her like a constricting snake. The most terrifying part? These tools also had a healing function!

Pain flooded her as she heard the cold voice of the person before her, speaking in the language of the Oak Owl.

—"Who are you looking at through me?"

Pine Bloom gritted her teeth, refusing to cry out in pain, but as the torturous ordeal dragged on, her consciousness began to blur.

Quiet Mountain’s BS Rita asked, "Another Me? Tell me more. What kind of person is she?"

Pine Bloom wasn’t foolish: "Let me gather my words."

She silently opened the battlefield chat channel.

[BS Pine Bloom]: SmokeTune, does she want to hear good or bad things?

[BS SmokeTune]: The first time I spoke nicely, I got a beating. When she asked again about how she was, I spoke harshly, and got beaten again. I suggest you answer her questions quickly, or you’ll be in for another round.

[BS Pine Bloom]: So why doesn’t she just hit people right away? 𝕗𝐫𝐞𝕖𝕨𝐞𝗯𝚗𝕠𝘃𝐞𝚕.𝐜𝗼𝚖

[BS Rita]: You’re not talking to me, are you? She asked about me, didn’t she? Is she cruel? Did she hit you?

[BS Pine Bloom]: Don’t talk to me. I’m already angry just seeing you. Let’s talk when I get back to BS.

She didn’t finish her sentence, as a long blade, more than a meter long, pierced her heart.

Along with the blade came the figure of BS Rita, who was standing just a step away from Pine Bloom.

Though this version of BS Rita was still half a head shorter due to her race, in terms of presence, Pine Bloom felt as if she had returned to the helplessness she had felt when she first entered Divine Game.

That feeling of powerlessness before a stronger opponent.

Quiet Mountain’s BS Rita tilted her head slightly, her voice without the slightest change as she asked, "Are you talking to her? Are you familiar with her?"

With each question, the hand holding the blade twisted just a little more.

Pine Bloom: "..." She definitely had to hold this grudge against BS Rita...

She clenched her jaw, forcing her voice not to tremble from the pain, and defiantly met BS Rita’s gaze. "You’re so interested in yourself, why don’t you go and catch her? Why ask us?"

Whoosh—!

The long blade was suddenly pulled out.

The person before her quickly flicked the blood off the blade and said, "No rush."

Pine Bloom: ... If you’re not in a rush, then stop stabbing me!!

BS Rita raised her hand, gripping Pine Bloom’s neck, forcing her head down as a skill’s light flared.

"How many players have come to Star Sea?"

"I didn’t pay attention to the exact numbers."

"Who’s the strongest? What tier?"

"Nuclear Flash NightFury, Tier 18."

"Where’s Star Sea’s BS Rita?"

"...She’s with BeaconCicada."

"What tier is she?"

"15."

Pine Bloom skillfully avoided all the questions about Star Sea’s current state and past, focusing only on players, though in the end, everything seemed to circle back to another version of herself. Clearly, these copies in Quiet Mountain didn’t know much.

After a dozen questions, BS Rita finally stopped.

Just as Pine Bloom thought the interrogation was over,

That pair of dark eyes suddenly drew close, quietly staring at her. Pine Bloom could feel the breath on her face and see the subtle curve of lips behind the silver faceplate.

In the quiet cell, she heard BS Rita’s voice ask, "What do you think of me?"

"Copy," Pine Bloom muttered, without family or past, suddenly appearing. What else could she be but a copy? She didn’t want to answer, but under the effect of the skill, she spoke the answer that was deep within her.

For the first time, a smile spread across those close-set black eyes. But to Pine Bloom, it only made her feel colder.
